Live Life Lovingly!

A time for us one day there will be…

Today I came across this forward on Social Media.

Take some time to read the story below… it is truly unique.

Swiss Time Bank

A student studying abroad in Switzerland observes the country:

While studying in Switzerland, I rented a house near the school. The landlord Kristina is a 67-year-old single old lady who worked as a teacher in a secondary school before she retired. Switzerland’s pension is very rich, enough not to make her worry about eating and drinking in her later years. However, it is puzzling that she actually found a “work” – to take care of an 87-year-old single old man. I asked if she was working for money. Her answer surprised me: “I did not work for money, but I put my time in the ‘time bank’, and when I couldn’t move at old age, I could withdraw it.”
The first time I heard about the concept of “time bank”,

I was very curious and asked the landlord thoroughly. The original “Time Bank” was an old-age pension program developed by the Swiss Federal Ministry of Social Security. People saved the time of taking care of the elderly when they were young, and waited until they were old, ill or needed care. Applicants must be healthy, good at communicating and full of love. Every day they have plenty of time to look after the elderly who need help. Their service hours will be deposited into the personal accounts of the social security system. She went to work twice a week, spending two hours each time, to help the elderly shopping, finishing the room, taking the elderly out to sunbathe, chatting with the elderly. According to the agreement, after one year of her service expiry, “Time Bank” will count out her working hours and issue her a “time bank card”. When she needs someone to take care of her, she can use her “time bank card” to “time bank” to withdraw “time and time interest”. After the information verification is passed, “Time Bank” will assign volunteers to take care of her to the hospital or her home. .
One day, I was in school and the landlady called and said she fell off the stool when she wiped the window. I quickly took leave and sent her to the hospital for treatment. The landlady broke her ankle and needed to stay in bed for a while. While I was preparing to apply for a holiday home to take care of her, the landlady told me that I did not have to worry about her. She had already submitted a withdrawal request to the “Time Bank”. Sure enough, less than two hours, “Time Bank” sent a nursing worker to come to care for the landlord. In the following month, the care worker took care of the landlord every day, chatted with her and made delicious meals for her. Under the meticulous care of the carer, the landlady soon recovered to health.

After recovering, the landlady went back to “work”. She said that she intends to save time in the “time bank” when she is still healthy, and wait until she can’t move.

Today, in Switzerland, the use of “time banks” to support old age has become a common practice. This not only saves the country pension expenses, but also solves some other social problems. Many Swiss citizens are very supportive of this kind of old-age pensions. The survey conducted by the Swiss pension organization shows that more than half of Swiss young people also want to participate in this type of old-age care service. The Swiss government also specializes in legislation to support the “Time Bank” pension.

At present, the number of “empty-nest old people” is continuously increasing and it has gradually become a social problem. Switzerland’s use of “time bank” pension may be a good reference for all other countries.

The ILO estimates in new publication that some 90 per cent of the world’s working-age population is not covered by pension schemes capable of providing adequate retirement income, the truth is overwhelming. Majority of the world’s population is still without some form of income security in old age or disability.

I also checked a bit more and came across this article below gives a good idea about how the situation is with the other developed countries across the world.

Creativity & Appreciation

Creativity is propelled
In every appreciation of what is…
For creativity feeds on creative thoughts.
Every life is creative in its own way.

Unique is the human mind
It takes strength of the interconnects
And creates expression of its own being.

To acknowledge and appreciate another
Is to open the channels of creativity
In accommodation as much acceptance
Of the infinite potential of possibilities
That arises in the moment.
It gives wings to create & explore more
It widens the gamut of ones horizon
But most of all it creates a balance
Between action and inaction
Between creation to pause in gratitude.

To honour the beauty that abounds
Lifting off clouds of self absorbtion.
To witness in wonder of sheer awe
And joys of nature and nurture.
A much needed act so share
That nourishes creative instincts
To create some more.

Writing is an art. Steering and shaping thoughts to create and inspire is an exploratory journey. In learning to write, and widening the scope of creativity, the experience of reading others work, and sharing reflections of and with others is a expansive phenomena for any writer to improve their work.

Appreciation is an evolved response that is a double ended tool to instill & invoke creative flow in the self and others.

Savvy

Every artistic endeavour flourishes in exploration and discovery of the creative abundance. In understanding the nuances of the interconnects that manifest, greater perspective is revealed.

Every artist inspired or is propelled to create by many facets of artistic energies and it’s interplay.

What is truly wonderful is in the depth of creativity lies utter humility in the realms of the learnings yet unravelled.

To teach is to engage

Life’s lessons for one and all!

To learn anything profound

That gets you changing the self

That transforms thoughts

To transcend the mundane

In contemplation and reflection.

To response and action

Practice is the best teaching.

To teach is to engage whatever the age.

Teaching the young

A child is reflexive and responsive

And absorbs in the new like a sponge.

To teach the young is no easy task

It can be a task that is daunting

And yet very rewarding at the same time.

To truly change the world for the better

We need to teach them, love for life and living.

We need to speak with compassion for them to follow suit

We need to share and express ourselves

We need to treat one other with kindness.

We need to be caring and considerate consistently.

We need to share more of ourselves

We need to honour our commitments.

We need to reach out and help another.

We need to encourage and appreciate

For these are what gets imprinted in their hearts

For acts of goodwill leave a lasting impression.

Art : Creating the Symphony of Life

Art speaks without words

Art emotes when words fail

Art emulates the vision of the heart.

Art flows in movement and solitude

For Art is life and living is an art..

Flow with Life

Art : In Evolving Consciousness…

Art can have different connotations and lead to diverse reflections. To propose peace, to promote healing, to propel the power of art or provoke is a choice in the hands of the artist .

Art : Creating in the Interconnects

In the context of conscious evolution, to value the thoughts that goes into any art is to accept and respect uniqueness of the being and value the  tuning into the oneness in the interconnects.

From creating art,  to assimilating and amalgamating  the thoughts structurally,  all are uniquely diverse yet interconnected expressions of the evolutionary process.

May the Great Spirit bless all who enter there.

And may the rainbow always touch your shoulder.”

Enigma & Elegance

On Black and White Artistry

Black and white may be excluded

From the family of colours.

But the tints, tones & shades

Find a family of their own….

In the enigmatic monochrome

And the elegance they exude

Borders on sheer simplicity

And dares on the utter sophistication.

In a world of colours that we may see

Using tonal contrast creates drama

Using light to capture textures.

Form and shape makes a difference.

Devoid of distractions of colours

Evocative captures, quality of lighting

Shifts focus on the ethereal elements

And accentuates the light and shadows.

Black and white photography

Flatters in a timeless way

At times it elevates, the subjects beauty

Creating an enigmatic dimension.

Presenting my artwork above

Titled : Chakra (Wheel ) above that felt right to me

Only in monochromatic elegance

Of Black & White shades and tones.

There was a time

There was a time when the day started with a greeting at the light of dawn
Now it all starts with the light of mobile screen

There was a time when travellers used to chat with one another.
Now traveling is to update status and post photos.

There was a time when writing meant using a pen and paper.
Now all it mean, is clicking of buttons on a keyboard.

There was a time, when postman were eagerly awaited.
Now that is all a thing of the past.

There was a time when movies were a family affair.
Now Netflix on phone makes everyone watch on their own.

There was a time when children learned from parents.
Now it is children who teach it all to their parents.

There was a time when holidays at home meant board games & conversations
Now all the catching up is on What app and Facebook.

There was a time when life had time to catch up with one another.
Now life runs after time to catch up with time.

With the advent of times,
The sense of family is fast disappearing.
Each lives for themselves and prefers their own company.

Each spends and cares more for their gadgets than people around them.
With the apathy and indifference that abounds,
The Social recluses we are all becoming confounds.

Such is the time we live in today…
Wonder what future we have, to reckon with?

Conscious Independence

As we celebrate our Independence day in India, may we care to value the underlying philosophy behind the word Independence … the ability to voice our uniqueness and express our individuality amidst a global platform.

Truly, Independence is a birthright that allows us to freely express ourselves, but along with it, is a sense of responsibility, a duty to empower the within as much as the world .

Channelizing the creative flow of freedom of expression to positive outcomes for the larger good is a responsibility for every individual. It is actually the simple way to create a life of well being with in and around each of us and for the world at large .

As we are after all an interdependent world even in our states of independence…. that to me is valuing and practicing Conscious Independence.

Happy Independence Day!!!

May we always Dance the dance of independence and freedom.

May we tune ourselves to connect with joys in tandem.

May we always remember and value great souls lost in martyrdom.

May we acknowledge that the strength in the interdependence is never random.

May we always respect our roots and learn to follow our inner wisdom.

Intuition & The Art of Listening

A Matter of Fine Tuning :

Intuition is defined as the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning.

Your cells are intuitive and have a memory bank of information that is stored experientially.

How they synthesize and process that information may depend on many factors especially on how healthy they are and what kind of nutrition they continue to have.

However, they are continuously in communication with you. Your sense of intuition is a part of their communicative process. So is your gut feeling and perhaps maybe even a hunch or a sense of dejavu…

That familiar feeling of knowing someone or something before even meeting them.

The rush of emotions amidst certain memories may be your intuitive sense of your cellular being getting a higher intensity of messages.

The tense feeling before a certain situation or place person or thing maybe you are getting a message across from your own survival mechanism.
Your clenched fist or the butterflies in your stomach, the knotted feeling deep within… are all perhaps a forewarning to be more present in this now than you actually are …

There is always much listening to do if you wish to decode these flashes of thoughts and feelings. In fact, they are your inbuilt guide and gifts of life. Acknowledge them for what they are.

Here are a 5 ways towards strengthening your sense of intuition.

1: Sense what you feel ... often we may never care to sense the fleeting feeling that may come along about something or someone at the first connect … That is often your intuitive self trying to send you a message.

2: Spend some time reconnecting with your self in meditation or even walk silently for a while every day being one with nature.

3: Be expressive of what you are, never stifle your thoughts and bottle up. Allow yourself to manifest freely. Remember your life is precious in itself. Live life lovingly.

4: Be trusting and trustworthy. If you can accept the world around as it is and work on evolving yourself for the better perhaps then the way you see the world will change. Positivity will emanate in your ways and that will ease up any rigidity from within to a  flexible state of being.

5 : Remember to differentiate between your overthinking which is simply creating patterns of thoughts in anxiousness and your sense of intuition Intuition comes from the place of a calm knowing.

Most importantly acknowledge your intuitive feelings. For without that intuition remains underdeveloped.

How much do you value your intuition?
How much do you allow it to manifest itself?

Do you care to nurture it?Do you care to listen when your intuitive sense talks to you?
Or do you choose to ignore it and move on?
Do you recall any instance of how you listened to your intuitive self?
Do share your thoughts.

Be all that you truly are!

In the inclusive and expansive attitude towards love for the self and fellow beings we emit a vulnerability that is actually the power within us all to heal and mend and shape us for the better.

With every hurt that scars the soul perhaps we may end up in restraints of our own doing. We fear to think beyond the boundaries, like the frog in the well … trying to seclude and exclude and end up confining ourselves within the walls we sadly create.

We are so afraid to express ourselves that, with our measured movements, of what might happen, or what others may think, we live in cocoons choosing to exist in doubt and insecurities. Perhaps, we may be stepping in our own way, instead of unfurling with all our innate potential the magnitude of our being.

Our life’s journey cannot not be about fear and doubt… for they will not allow us to take a step. And life is about movement, about understanding in discovery, why should life be suppressed in any way?

Think well
Walk with intent respect the space within and around you.
Speak with clarity and with conviction.
Express the self in faith and confidence.

Choose to see life unfolding positively
Allow space for spontaneity in trust, acknowledge it as the expression of your unique self.
Sense your potential and envision the future in hope.
To be all that you truly are.

A Sense of Wonder

Life is full of awe and wonder
For wonder reveals the soul of the being.
As awe springs forth from the heart of the living.
Amazing are the insights in the keenness of wonder …

To delve deeper than what’s visible in contemplation
To care to discover the mystery in anticipation
To appreciate with discernment than discrimination
To witness the unfolding in patience of observation.
The intention creates the perspectives in the dimensions
The adaptation untangles the transition
Between the illusions & manifestations in creation .

Only a heart and mind that is willing to acknowledge beyond the strife.
Unearths the undiscovered gifts of life..

As the heart widens its gamut of being
The horizon uncovers the abundance.

To dance ‘the love of my life’....

‘To dance is to converse with your soul in oneness’

Savvy

Well I have just sat down to write supercharged after dancing an improvised version of Rumba to one of my favourite songs ‘Every day I love you by Boyzone. Yes I love to dance and I willing and wholeheartedly share my love and passion for it with the world.

Well who ever told you about dancing by numbers has perhaps never learned to dance from the heart!😉 Beyond the number game … yes we may begin with counting steps though I find a lot of people like me who prefered to learn with rhythms of quicks and slows. I prefer to associate dancing with the heart beats and the breath of life itself . I also find that when taught this way the dance gets closely connected with the authenticity of you and your movements as you are.

After all dancing is being you!

The art of dance can introduce you to yourself and beckons you to know your limitless potential.
