You are enough for you!

Truly nothing is insurmountable

There is in you, the power

That manifests when you need it most

You may not know the strength

And capabilities that you are carrying.

But it is always there with you

Simply Trust in yourself

To be there for you!

You are more than enough for you!

Being you

It is actually simpler to be yourself. There is something that each of us can do better than any other.

So its important then to listen to the inner voice and bravely obey that.

Expression

In these times of uncertainty
While you are making ends meet
Have you looked up at all.
Acknowledge to ones around you.

Yes they are each unique
Choose to communicate better.
Listen actively
Show empathy share a laugh.

Indulge their words & build connection
Between hearts in your home
Stay humble not busy all the times
Just to escape  making a connection.

Your cellphones can wait
It doesn’t  need your time
Your book can wait
They can be read later.

But your loved ones
Cant wait as their time is limited
They need your expression
They  need to feel loved.
They need your attention.

Express yourself
While you can!
And you certainly can!

On Action

An action that builds confidence is better than inaction which arises from fear.

At times the action is a success, at times , may be the action needs a new direction to be successful but action is better than no action.

Life and living

The Isha Upanishad (ईशोपनिषद्, ‘īśopaniṣad’) is one of the shortest of the Upanishads, in form more like a brief poem than a philosophical treatise, consisting of 17 or 18 verses in total. The Upanishad constitutes the final chapter (adhyāya) of the Shukla Yajurveda and survives in two versions, called Kanva (VSK) and Madhyandina (VSM).

The Isha Upanishad is significant for its description of the nature of the “Supreme Being”, exhibiting monism or a form of monotheism, referred to as Isha “Lord”. It describes this being as “unembodied, omniscient, beyond reproach, without veins, pure and uncontaminated” (verse 8), one who “moves and does not move’, who is ‘far away, but very near as well'” and who “although fixed in abode is swifter than the mind” (verses 4 & 5).

The first verse of the text has been cited as of particular importance to Vedanta or to Hinduism as a whole.

The first verse reads:

īśā vāsyam idaṃ sarvaṃ ¦ yat kiñca jagatyāṃ jagat |
tena tyaktena bhuñjīthā ¦ mā gṛdhaḥ kasya sviddhanam ||

literal translation (Ralph T.H. Griffith, 1899):

“Enveloped by the Lord must be This All — each thing that moves on earth.
With that renounced enjoy thyself. Covet no wealth of anyone

Simply  profound verses.

All The Truths of  living  life in this ephemeral world  is contained  in those lines.

Sharing a few more musings by my mother on the same lines.

Whatever is available to you in this world, learn to enjoy without the feeling of possession.

You are one among the many in line. Take care while it is with you without owning it.

Art knows better

abstract art artist artistic

Art feels complete for the artist
When there is a contentment
From within that this is enough!
And that the expression is fulfilled

For the viewer, it is a beginning
Of endless possibilities

Juxtaposed between the artist and the admirer
Is the art which is created
Out of a thought and intention
In colours and hues

To simply be as it evokes emotions
In its journey to fulfill itself
And that is how it completes itself.

To keep my heart
Healthy and happy
To keep my mind relaxed and attentive.
To breathe easy and practice the let go as much as I can.
To nourish my body & mind with self-care and choose balance in thoughts words and deeds.

To nurture, heal and replenish the self
With positive intentions reflections and contemplation.
To keep a good company of friends.
To steer thoughts and cultivate humility, kindness, and mindfulness.
To choose to pause and speak with awareness in response than reaction

To respect and value life in this body.
To respect another’s right to be.
To sense the spirit of freedom.
To value the freedom of another being.

To create and acknowledge peace and positivity within and around me
To spread goodwill at every opportunity.
To learn and understand more and help by using my skills for the greater good.
To be conscious of the preciousness of life and living.

To sense the truths of creation, the infinite abundance.
To see the beauty in the ordinary.
To never forget to be humble, grateful, and thankful
For this life in this now!

Find peace within

Yesterday was my mother’s birthday. And I came across this reflection of hers by chance and started reading it, Although she is living far away in another city, I deeply connected with her in every moment as I was reading this. Wishing her a beautiful blessed day!

Finding peace

Happiness is an abstract state which gives us high,
makes us feel positive about everything,
makes us forgive peoples faults, brings a smile in our face n laughter in our mind,
gives us strength,
brings love to our heart,
makes our surroundings beautiful, makes life worth living,
radiates our being irrespective of the outside effects.

Happiness is the real state we are born with. That is our real form, shrouded by the clouds of acquired and induced qualities as we walk along this long path of life. In due course, it gets overshadowed by outside influences that we forget how to be really happy. We start seeking happiness from outside sources forgetting our own storehouse inside us.

Thus starts our dependence. Whether material, emotional, physical, or spiritual, for everything we start seeking help from other people or substances which gradually grow from need-based to the necessity which we cannot live without. In the long run, the very source we think gives us happiness adds nothing but misery. The more u seek outside the more ur inner light dims.

How to come out of this self-induced predicament. Really very hard as the acquired dirt must have become layers of solid sediments. A little Viveka n Vairagya are the tools God has provided us with, to unearth the hidden treasure, of Happiness Within.

Viveka means right understanding, discriminating knowledge n true wisdom.

Vairagya means detachment, dispassion, maintaining a state of mental equilibrium.

Developing both these qualities help us to be in a peaceful happy state irrespective of outer influences knowing their transient nature. The more we delve in these, the nearer we go to our inner self which is the abode of ultimate BLISS.

The ever-changing face of the sky
The dancing flames of the fire,
The soothing flow of the air,
The flowing waves of the water,
The surface of Mother Earth
All just set to put in our mind the transience of Nature.

The rising and setting of the Sun,
The waning and waxing of the
Moon,
The revolution and rotation of the earth,
The cycle of the changing seasons
Just to remind us nothing is forever to stay.

The karmic cycle of birth and death,
The changing phases of lives,
The changing moods of the mind,
The swaying patterns of wealth
Aren’t enough to teach the human mind equanimity and humility?

How many more lessons does one need?

Anjana.

This piece ‘ Finding Peace’ resonates deeply. Especially so in these chaotic times.

Handling Emotions

The Boss was retiring

Everyone had tears in their eyes on the day of his farewell.

One of the employees said,
“Sir, there is one thing we want to learn from you.
You worked here for so many years.
Leave aside about scolding your subordinates,
we have never seen you even shouting at them.

We have scolded our subordinates on the pressure of work or for other reasons.
We want to know about the seed of your patience.”

The Boss said,
“This all comes from the incident of my childhood.
My father was working as a lower-level employee in an office.

He was a very nice person.
He was respected very much in our family.

It happened one day,
I was studying in the 4th standard.
I had gone to the office of my father for some reason.

I saw that my father was not on his seat.
I waited outside.
After some time,
the door of the Boss opened, my father came out of the door.
I saw the face of my father had turned red.

He went straight to a corner and stood there looking outside through a window.

He had not seen me.
I went to him and called him slowly.
He was taken by surprise and turned back to look at me.

I saw a stream of tears flowing down his eyes.
He was slightly disturbed seeing me. He did not find time to wipe out his tears.

Can my father cry anytime?
He was the strongest man in the world for me.
It was out of my wildest imagination that someone could hurt him.

I ran straight to the room of the Boss.
Father was calling me from behind.
But, listening to nothing,
I went inside and asked the Boss,
“Why did you make my father cry?”
The Boss was also surprised.

Thereafter, my father tried to make me understand.

But, that day I had decided to take revenge on the Boss.

From that day I decided that I will study well and become a Boss one day,
but I will not make my subordinates cry anytime.

Because, they are not only the employees of my office, they are also respected and dear father or brother or somebody of their families and belong to someone important.

People say it is not possible to control others without scolding them.
I say, what is love then for?”

People who come to work are the ones who devote their best and quality time of the day to work, leaving not much time for their families. They do deserve better treatment from their surroundings._

Ships don’t sink because of the water around them; ships sink because of the water that gets in them. Don’t let what’s happening around you and your circumstances get inside you in your mind and weigh you down.

Make your life such where peace becomes your priority and no negativity can exist in your life.

*Just because you’re angry that doesn’t give you any right to be cruel.*

*Anger, on the other hand, doesn’t solve anything, it builds nothing, but it can destroy everything.*

*Neurologist claim that every time you resist acting on your anger, you’re actually rewiring your brain to be calmer and more loving.*

*The less you respond to rude, critical, argumentative people… the more peaceful your life becomes.*

*Explain your anger instead of expressing it, and you will find solutions instead of arguments.*

Thirsty?

Thirst is meant to be quenched

A thirst for knowledge .

Is a wonderful start of all learning

But is thirst simply enough to know?

Thirst for knowing must never be coerced…

To truly want to learn one needs

Focus and drive.

Passion and purpose

Patience and perseverance

Analysis and deduction

Attention and retention.

And most of all patience.

Knowledge is wonderful

But knowing is valuable…

For all knowledge does not mean knowing.

As there is always more to learn and unlearn.

Knowledge dances on the edges of true knowing.

And wisdom lies in every bit of knowing.

And Life thrives

On teaching and learning

The teacher who says he is a master
Is no master at all.

A teacher is the one who teaches
What he has learned in life…
To teach is to learn some more!

To teach is to simply impart the learning in the sharing there is learning to imbibe.

Life is after all a great teacher
As it is the nature of life that masters it all.
All are but students in the way of life.

No one is perfect
No one knows it all
No one has mastered it all
Wisdom flows from living life
Everyone is a teacher in a way
Every one is a student in a way.

Let’s all remember
To own up to ourselves
The way we are
Flawed or not
Scarred or not
But thankful as we are.
Gradually we are strengthened in gratitude.
Acknowledging the preciousness of life.
And Life thrives…

Colour of emotions.

If emotions were tubes of colours
The way we paint every day
The way we live our lives
The way we think and express
Our own experiences in being.
Will be a riot on the canvas.

Envisioning in the seeing…
Flashes of brilliance in bright yellow
Of optimism and cheer
Sporadically surging joy and ecstasy.

Going green in connectedness
Contented lines flowing in trustful acceptance
Or moves markedly hesitant in fear and apprehension.
Arresting artistry of living life in loving kindness

Explosions of reds marking anger
Or in delusions of grandeur in aggression.
In ingenious masterstrokes in fits of rage
Of imagination running wild.

Colour of Purple in projecting pride.
Of passionate perseverance to detail
Or a certain aloofness in respectful reservation.
A sense of ascension and royalty.

Shades of blue in thoughtful flow and serenity
Or organic spaced out zenful zones
Of mindful movements in the making.

Yes there is an emotion in every colour
As colours are but tools of expression
Of the ever changing moods of man
How colorful is the spirit of our soul.

Every colour plays a significant role
Like in the wheel of colours
So are emotions that appear
In the wheel of life.
Each plays it’s part.
All matters to the whole.
