Heartspeaks

Being content…

A realization

Of all that you have

In this now.

Being happy…

An appreciation

Of what you have

In this now.

Being grateful…

An acknowledgement

Of the gifts of grace in and around us.

Mystique of Creation

In the vividness  of imagination
At  times there is a turbulence  of thoughts.
Of emotions entwined in the sensing.
Moving beyond, patterns forming…

Inspiration & ingenuity births itself
In the very uniqueness of individuality
Yet the source of creativity is infinity
Such is the divine mystic of creation.

Life & Living

Whenever I come across a heart touching action, or a prose ,a poem or quote I will be sharing it here in this series…

Some people make the world a better place by their thoughts words and deeds...

Sharing a touching story of truths of life and living…

THE HAPPIEST MAN

When Billionaire Femi Otedola in a telephone interview, was asked by the radio presenter, “Sir what can you remember made you the happiest man in life?”

Femi said: “I have gone through four stages of happiness in life and finally I understood the meaning of true happiness.”

The first stage was to accumulate wealth and means. But at this stage I did not get the happiness I wanted.

Then came the second stage of collecting valuables and items. But I realized that the effect of this thing is also temporary and the lustre of valuable things does not last long.

Then came the third stage of getting big projects. That was when I was holding 95% of diesel supply in Nigeria and Africa. I was also the largest vessel owner in Africa and Asia. But even here I did not get the happiness I had imagined.

The fourth stage was the time a friend of mine asked me to buy wheelchair for some disabled children. Just about 200 kids.

At the friend’s request, I immediately bought the wheelchairs. But the friend insisted that I go with him and hand over the wheelchairs to the children. I got ready and went with him.

There I gave these wheel chairs to these children with my own hands. I saw the strange glow of happiness on the faces of these children. I saw them all sitting on the wheelchairs, moving around and having fun.

It was as if they had arrived at a picnic spot where they are sharing a jackpot wining.

I felt real joy inside me. When I decided to leave one of the kids grabbed my legs. I tried to free my legs gently but the child stared at my face and held my legs tightly. I bent down and asked the child: Do you need something else?

The answer this child gave me not only made me happy but also changed my attitude to life completely. This child said: “I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I will be able to recognize you and thank you once again”.

What would you be remembered for after you leave that office or place?

Will anyone desire to see your face again where it all matters?

Think! Live your life in a manner that others desire to see your face again.

Vorticity

Art work Title : Vorticity By Savvy Raj

Sharing my swirl artwork called Vorticity. This  I created with my some of favourite colors to suit the mood of the day!

Vorticity

In the core is the dynamics  of the flow ,
Sense the spiralling fluidity
Of the momentum moving along in circles
In the whirling is the dance of energy.

In synch

When what you say
And what you do
Are congruent
The effect of your words & deeds
Radiates all around you in resonance.

It’s no wonder then that
In a world that seems so dissonant
Words and deeds need to synch.
In harmony of such synchrony
Faith and trust meet belief
And that’s what makes all the difference.

Team Management & Motivation Tips

If you are in a position of leadership and influence, consider it your responsibility to keep your team motivated consistently.

Every career experience is deeply significant in understanding and expanding your vision. As a Management Consultant & Mentor, my years as a Ballroom Dance Educator & Trainer have been truly insightful in understanding teamwork and collaboration and the values of direction and motivation from a leadership perspective in team performance.

Here are a few tips to manage & motivate your team.

Attitude: A team is a set of individuals who are meant to align towards a vision and mission.  Start of by getting the hiring process right. Hire the people with the right attitude.

Connection : Begin to connect with your team with genuine interest in their work plan, issues and tasks at hand.  You are more likely to understand the pain points, their strengths and find proper resolutions

Trust building : Building trust in your team starts with a leader who knows when to engage and when to back off.
Trust creates responsibility and makes team members accountable.

Safety : A team that is ensured, mental, physical, social, environmental safety feels well-supported.  Understand how important it is for every member to sense the safety so that your team can take steps with confidence.

Respect: Give respect to get respect.
Create a platform to collaborate without character assaults and biased opinions.Always remember there is the benefit of doubt.

Non-judgmental : Avoid & Reduce personal bias and judgements in assumptions from affecting your team.
Be inclusive and create a diversity in the team such that it becomes a source of strength.

Attention: Care to pay attention and nurture your team. Be available and wholly present to guide, mentor your teams through their tasks and issues. But reduce dependencies.

Appreciation: Last but not the least care to celebrate their small & large wins, take time to appreciate the good work.

Whispers of wisdom

In the din of moment

Is the quiet reflection

Of thoughts in musing

Like a whisper in all its subtlety

Like a soft caress of a breeze

Like a feeling wafting through.

The soul knows…

Unnoticed, unobserved often

Yet felt by one and all in consensus

At one point or the other

That is sensed in the being.

For its the heart that senses…

Whispers that speaks to the soul,

Wherever you are, you know…

Wisdom speaks, to the willing listener.

Create the possibility

It’s possible

They say…

What one sees as the end

Another sees a beginning

An attitude of positivity

Can change the world around.

To be able to believe & hope

Is the beginning of positive change.

So in possibilities of the potential

Take a leap of faith in trust

And simply know It’s possible.

Create the possibility!

Inks of Hope

In your deepest turmoil

Writing becomes a let out

Words sensed and inked

Can bring balance to living

Such is the power of writing.

When life and living

Leaves scars behind

The pen colours life with hope.

With freshness of perspective

Hope inks itself into existence

And life goes on..

Mystic of life

A dear friend shared this picture on social Media and it left me contemplating…

We are born to connect

In one way or other

For a purpose larger

Than our individual self

There is light that we have

That we ourselves may not know

The potential of, that manifests

To serve at the right time.

There is always a reason

For this now, so rise above despair

And look onward and upward

The way is forward in faith

To live and help heal some more.

No wonder its said ‘Hands that help

Is holier than lips that pray…’

We are carriers of hope

That pass on for posterity

Our life is intricately weaved

In every moment of our being

Through the echelons of time

For a reason, we may or never know

Such is the ‘Mystic of life’

In all its brilliant manifestations.

Art of Movement

Personally speaking, I have a deep interest in the art of movements, especially the ones that elucidate the flow… perhaps that is why I love dancing but on the other hand I have been equally captivated by the beauty of Tai chi and more so Qi Gong.

The healing energy of movement has often been a subject of deep passion, respect and research for me.

Likewise I am especially fond of the flowing Waltz as well. Since childhood, dancing comes naturally to me but have always found myself grappling to understand why martial art is even necessary.Until much later I started exploring the potency of energy in each of us…through a little introduction into Tai chi as well by conscious choice.

Allow me to present my reflections on this subject in a flow….

In a dance
There is an interconnect
Of emotion and movement
As to emote is to sense
The feeling in the flow…

In dance there is an awareness
Of moving in response
Without anticipation.
As in one step less,
The music moves on
And you are left to improvise
On how to match the steps in rhythm.

Yes, truly to dance is to enjoy the life in the moves.

In martial arts
There is flow too
But a flow that is ever in alertness,
In strategic moves and self defense
The speed and swiftness
In reaction and response.

Martial arts often feels like dance… t
But often the difference
Is between life and death.

Both are connected in the deepest sense and yet distinctive like chalk and cheese.

The intention to dance and to fight…is what differentiates.

We dance to let go, to enjoy this now and celebrate it.
In awareness is a flow that merges in harmony to synch in with now in artistry of the moves

The warrior is fighting for peace for survival against all odds
Not knowing what is the next move but yielding to the now to decipher the countermove and strike.
Here too there is often a display of extreme artistry of motion in accuracy of time.

To learn both, takes dedication and practice in patience.
But most of all is the need for relentless will & passion to persevere .

Yes, there is a dancer in a warrior

And a warrior in the dancer.

Choice rests within you.

Just remember, to dance is to live the moments and explore its most aesthetic potential in the flow… choose not to make dance a fight.

Stay joyful in peace.

To learn martial arts is to get into the arena and survive.
Attack or in self defense with least possible harm to get out of harms way to stay in peace.

Both may have their own relevance in purpose
To negate one is to look at only one half of the circle
Just as much as joy is part of life
Safekeeping the freedom to be
Is equally important in every now…

Do you want to dance in peace
Do you want to fight for peace.
Choice is yours to make
Peace or war!

Savvy.

On Trustfulness

Between belief and trust
There is a fine line
That makes all the difference
For to believe, is one thing
But to trust, is to let go.

In this trustfulness
Is where all the magic happens
And where the wonder comes alive
And beliefs finds meaning

In the ability to trust
Comes along the surrender
And the ability to accept the let go
In knowing there is always hope.

To trust, is to know there is
Always Something more
Than you or I
That will have our back

In complete trust
Life manifests and flourishes
Beyond the niggling doubts
And the unfounded insecurities

Trust is power that creates possibilities
So important to trust and be trustworthy.
Trust and allow yourself to realize its potential.
To acknowledge trust, is a step ahead in faith.
