A beautiful story share that tugs your heartstrings.
Remember Kenyan runner Abel Mutai who was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped, thinking he had completed the race. Spanish runner, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was happening, started shouting at the Kenyan to continue running. Mutai didn’t know Spanish and didn’t understand. Realizing what was taking place, Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory.
A journalist asked Ivan, “Why did you do that?” Ivan replied, “My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win.”
The journalist insisted “But why did you let the Kenyan win?” Ivan replied, “I didn’t let him win, he was going to win. The race was his.” The journalist insisted, and again asked, “But you could have won!” Ivan looked at him and replied, “But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor in that medal?
What would my Mother think of that?”
Values are passed on from generation to generation.
Every year Parents took their son to his Grandmother’s House for the Summer Break, and they would return Home in train after Two Weeks.
One Day the Boy tells
his Parents:
′′ I’m Grown Up now,
What if I go to Grandma’s House alone this Year ???”
After a Brief Discussion
Parents agree.
They were standing on the Railway Station, seeing him off,
Giving him Last Instruction through the Window,
As Boy continues to repeat:
′′ I know, you’ve already told me so many times…!”
Train is about to leave and Father whispers:
′ My Son,
If you suddenly feel Bad or Scared, this is for you !…… ′
And he slips something into his Pocket.
Now the Boy was all alone, sitting on the Train, without his Parents,
for the First Time…
He looks at the Scenery through the Window.
Around him Strangers Hustle, make Noise, Enter and Exit
the Compartment,
He gets that Feeling that he was alone..
A person even gives him a
Scary look…
The Boy felt uncomfortable…
And now he was frightened also.
He lowered his head, snuggled in a corner of the Seat,
tears rose to his Eyes.
At that Point he remembered his Father putting something in his pocket.
With a trembling hand he groped this piece of paper, and he opened it,
Son, “Don’t Worry,”
I am in the Next Compartment…
*Truth* :
This is How it is in Life…
When God has sent us in this World, all by ourselves,
HE has also slipped a note in our pocket,
*God Says:*
I am Travelling with you,
I am within your reach !
Call on Me…❗
A youngster was attending a video conference with his Manager who was upset over the background noises. The Youngster turned around and told his grandmother to keep quiet.
She walked towards the youngster, to take a look into what he was doing and saw a person on the Monitor and asked, “Who is he?”
The youngster muted his audio and video and said, “He is my Manager”.
She said, “I want to talk to your Manager”. But the youngster denied. By the time the Manager started pinging the youngster and the youngster unmuted to talk and his grandmother shouted, “Manager I want to talk to you”.
The Manager agreed and the youngster unmuted the video. The grandmother, with a smile said, “Namaste” and introduced herself and the Manager also greeted her.
She said, “You look upset”.
The Manager said, “Yeah, some kind of work tension, a lot of noise around your house and we are not able to complete the meeting in time”.
The Grand Mother asked, “May I help solve your problem?”
Her grandson was stopping her and telling her to keep quiet.
The Manager said, “It’s ok, let her speak”.
The Grandmother narrated, “Once there was a Young man, who sat under a tree for taking rest. He was continuously hearing a bird’s sound. He lifted his head and seeing a bird, started chasing it, so that he could peacefully take some rest. The bird came closer to him and said, “You are taking rest under my nest. I will not ask you to leave this place but you should learn to co-exist with us”.
The Grandmother looked at both of them and said, “Your Home is your nest” where you are supposed to take rest and bond with your dear and near ones. I do understand the Covid-19 situation, but you should also understand that our home is not your office.
*When we come to visit our family members at your office place, we are expected to behave professionally or maintain a certain decorum.*
Similarly, when you are using our home for your office work, you should understand the situation at our home.
There is nothing wrong with working from home, but remember, it is the family members benevolent nature, that is keeping the corporate world functioning today and the economy running.
She looked at the manager and asked, “Am I correct ?”
*The Manager’s mother peeped and said “You are absolutely right”.*
The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.
The astronomer may speak to you of his understanding of space, but he cannot give you his understanding.
The musician may sing to you of the rhythm which is in all space, but he cannot give you the ear which arrests the rhythm nor the voice that echoes it.
And he who is versed in the science of numbers can tell of the regions of weight and measure, but he cannot conduct you thither.
For the vision of one man lends not its wings to another man. And even as each one of you stands alone in God’s knowledge, so must each one of you be alone in his knowledge of God and in his understanding of the earth.
Kahlil Gibran…
One of my favorite writers with profound words of wisdom.
I had been introduced to his books as a teenager but have revisited his works especially ‘ The Prophet ‘ many times just to soak in the learnings.
Learning is best done in willingness & curiosity to explore the beyond.
Teaching is best done in understanding the learnings and the learner.
Learning never stops it is like a river that flows…
The teacher creates curiosity for learning takes you to the river banks of knowledge and then allows you to quench your thirst, assimilate the learning to expand your horizons of learning.
