Apricity
April has come and gone
August too has passed on
Changing months
Changing seasons
Although pleasant and cool.
There is a nip in the air
Winter is soon approaching
Just around the bend.
Across the horizon
I look up at the morning sun
Awakening my senses warmly
In the alchemy of apricity.
This poem flows along in my simple joy of using this rarely used word. APRICITY…the warmth of a winters sun.
Hoping for apricity
Of feeling the warm sun
On a cold winters day…

Wind on water
The wind on the water
Dancing divine
Riveting rhythm
Forming in the flow.
Patterns performing
Orchestras in the ocean

Charcoal on black
Art on black paper
The artist is engrossed
Working relentlessly
Charcoal on black
Revealing the light from the dark
Reversing the fundamentals of art
Shaping the light into form
Contouring the edges
White charcoal lifts and highlights
Speckling with light
Black ones adding depth
Matting the shine
The fluid fingers flowing
Almost dancing on paper
Sweeping strokes
Creating softness of light
In contrast they meet
Sharp staccato moves
Accenting tension and texture.
Arresting the eyes.
This waltz with light on dark
And dark on light
In shades & tones
Applying and erasing
Refining in the rendering
Form merges and emerges…

On a moonlit nightÂ
Embalmed in its luminescence.
Bathed in its argent glow
Graced by the peace in the beam
Radiance lingers in its pearlescent reflection
Drawing us to look upwards
As we are enveloped by its lovely light.

Like the night and day.
Between the illusions and reality
From doubts to clarity
Trust life to fine tune itself.

Over the years
Living life teaches much.
Every person in your life
has an unique role to play.
Sometimes they are necessary for you
at times, you are necessary for them.
Life happens along the way,
leaving lessons fine.
Your emotional equation matters more than you think.
Choose to spend time with those who lift you up.
Those who bring cheer and smile to your face.
Choose your circle, its your right.

Our thoughts need space to grow
Sitting in silence
Sensing stillness
Witnessing the dance within.
As the thoughts settle
From chaos to calm
Give time to your thoughts
Countless thoughts birth itself
Some that makes you smile
Some that carry other emotions
Your thoughts have a reason to be
Let them come and go
Like nature evolves in time
Thoughts have a life time too.
Think well… Life blooms.
On blooming
Cultivate in your children a thinking mind
Guide them to steer it to a thoughtful mind
Cultivate in your children a grateful heart
Guide them to deeds of goodwill.
Their development begins with you
But remember the bud that blossoms to a flower
Support their journey that unfolds itself …
As every flower unfurls in its own time

Your birth is not the only time you are born
You are born in every moment of awareness
You are born in every conscious breath.
You are born in the pain and the pleasures of living life.
You are born in every deed of compassion & kindness.
You are born in the joy of both inclusion and expansion.
You are born in the moments of heartfelt connections.
The truth is you can birth yourself in every now.

Light is meant to shine
The sky lights up
This morning
In ethereal light…
And in moments
It feels like twilight,
Where light seems engulfed
But it is already dawn.
Perhaps the sun is hidden
For a fleeting while,
Waiting for clouds to pass
Only to shine again.
In this moment
Of in-betweens,
Before light shines
Its brilliance again,
Let me take a moment
To feel the senses
Telling me to ease in to this now.
Breathe the cool wind
And pause to witness
The unfolding play
Of light of day.
The sun is patient
And humble,
Awaiting its turn…
Let me stay patient
And hopeful
In this play of light.
Light is meant to shine.
Was inspired to write these verses this morning as I silently witnessed the unfolding magic of dawn…
Every now is full of learnings awaiting the light of awareness.

In this now I inhale peace
In this now I exhale love
In this now I sense calm
In this now I share a smile.
In this now what I can do
Matters than, then & later
For it sets the course ahead
Aligning past with present.
In this now lives potential
In this now, is the power of choice
In every now that is…

What are you feeding your mind?
Master your mind,” they say,
“Before it masters you.”
Acknowledge the truths of life,
For the mind creates
Countless thoughts.
Know the value of mindfulness.
Being mindful is about self-awareness…
To master the mind,
Master your thoughts.
Become aware of this now.
Whatever this moment is,
Sense it, and breathe in it.
Feel it, and be alive in it.
For the truth lives in every moment.
What you decide to do in this “now”
Has the power to change and rearrange
Your state of being.
Life is precious.
Have faith and trust.
Stay hopeful with every breath,
For the truth is, you can.
After all, the mind works
On exactly what you feed it.

The Game Changer
Often it is in the adversity,
you meet your true strengths.
In the tests of life,
you find your true self.
That which you discover
in these challenges,
arrives in the journey
to steer you on your path.
So hold on, in trust & faith.
For no matter what,
all in not lost.
You will find it in you,
to begin anew.
In experiences of adversity,
you meet yourself.
And that’s the gamechanger.
