A moonlit night
The beach glows bright
Silvery waves, sugary white
As the last of the seagulls take flight
Evening dusk shadows the skylight.
To behold, what a sight
To remember, what a night.

Chase not, the shiniest
For it often lose their sheen
Choose consistency over hype
It makes a mark in time.
What shines today
May become dull tommorow
What perseveres every day
May turn reliable in the long run .
Chase not, the loudest proclaims
It often ends up as a whimper
Choose the steadiness of approach
That often becomes substantial.
Chase not, the charmer
They often turn out fake.
To smile without heartbreak
Choose the one with humor…
And keep humor alive in your heart…

Who said beginning again was easy ?
In the discomfort of new beginnings
In the challenges of the changes
You feel lost in a maze.
You sense your vulnerabilities.
Yet, as you persevere on, with a beginners mindset
No matter what and where life takes you…
You find your own strengths
Unfolding new paths & possibilities.
Beginnings challenge the best of us. Not all is rosy and easy…especially the beginning, all over again.
I was thinking of how important it is to imbibe the beginners mindset, the one that is passionately earnest and yet humble in patience & perseverance to bend and not break….that makes it an art of new beginnings.

There was a time when the day started with a greeting at the light of dawn Now it all starts with the light of mobile screen There was a time when travellers used to chat with one another. Now traveling is to update status and post photos. There was a time when writing meant using […]
There was a time

It was like a painting
That I could not forget
In the streets of Paris
Where artists paint
In passionate fervour.
The stark shape of lines
Bold colors that speak
Of the creator’s confidence.
The play of contrasts
In the light & dark.
The arresting silhouette
Almost molded to form.
An awe-inspiring design.
Displayed in the window
It caught my eye…
The dress was mesmerizing
No, not in a delicate way
It was quite the opposite.
It spoke to me
Of a certain power play
It had me thinking
Who will don it?
Power in a dress?
A dress can do much for your confidence
You can own the dress and the world …
With the right kind of dress.
Would you agree?
And tell me…
When I started the above poem with the line
It was like a painting…
Did you think it could be about a dress ?
If you did…
Did you think of it as something that flowed with beauty?
And what else would your imagination associate with a beautiful painting, I would love to know.

Every decade teaches …
At ten
Life is innocence
At twenty
Life is discovery
At thirty
Life is pursuit
At forty
Life is awareness
At fifty
Life is experiences
At sixty
Life is expansion
At seventy
Life is inclusion
At eighty
Life is rememberence
At ninety
Life is grace
At hundred & plus
Life is a testament
Of a lifetime lived.
Yet life is in this now…
Live life lovingly.
PS : A simple take on life so far, and in witnessing life & the living  around me. I know life cannot be summed up in a word and there is much I want to add for every decade… moreover some words I have described may be experienced earlier or later.
So to each their own…

I was walking by the Seine
When the evening shadows
Danced on the water
The dusk folding in the flow
Giving in to the night.
I watched the shimmering
Of the Cresent moon
Beaming its presence
Now and then…
In this dance of light
I sense the beauty of life
The interconnects of elements
The interplay of illusions
The tango of light & dark
The magnificence
The insignificance
I continue on my pathway
Allowing the vision
To find its purpose…
Reminiscing in the awareness
Of fleeting memoirs of time

In the ordinary moments
Lies extraordinary sensations
Made tangible in shifting perspectives.
In the daily rut of routine
Lives moments of sheer excellence
Understood often, in flipping the script.
In between conversations that lead nowhere
Pausing to acknowledge what is
Creates room for new thoughts.
In the daily humdrum
Creating a space of stillness
Creates room for much awareness in realizations…
SR

In between moments of a frantic day
Or the restlessness of boredom
Its nice to settle in with a cup of your favourite beverage.
If not for anything else
Just to pause and gather yourself
It creates a space to ponder
And reflect in wonder
And in those moments
Its never dull and senseless
At times it even sparks an idea
Almost out of nowhere
In the association of thoughts
In the camaraderie shared
Every sip seems to soothe
And yet inspire some more
Now think of life too this way
Life is never meant to be rushed
Life is not life if it feels unloved
Take time to live it.
The way is yours to sense & create
The ingredients of a good life
Is the concoction of your choices.
What you make with it
Is what you are left with
Keep it inspirational.

Time knows
Time reveals
Time heals
Time allows
Time continues
Time ticks
Time spaces
Time delivers
Time tunes
Time shapes
Time changes
Time is time after all
Time exists
Before, betwixt and beyond us.
Isnt. time then more than a measurement?
Time is infinite.

Every time you spend
In cultivating purpose
In patience and passion
With a dedicated perseverance
You are inviting an earnestness
That helps you discover yourself
You are far more
Than you choose to believe
Or give yourself credit for.
As you find your purpose
You find yourself evolving
And closer you are to contentment
In living life lovingly every day.

Your life is a result of your choices
From what you eat
What you watch
What you hear
What you speak
Whom you befriend
Whom you bear
Whom you meet
To the thoughts you think
It’s all in what you choose
To allow & let go.
Savvy

It is not the grand gestures
But in the valuing of life
With actions that move hearts…
Through the hands that help
Extending care without expection
A celebration of life
In the unfolding of patience
In the spirit of generosity
In the deeds of kindness
In expansive love as a choice
Unconditionally unexpectedly
Living life in every now
With the grace of a being
Leading with love.
