Repose

I like the moments of morning calm

Before the world wakes up

I find the time for reflection in gratitude 

For nature in and around me.

The night helps settle the density

Of racing thoughts in time.

Like water becomes clearer in stillness.

The calm and quiet of early dawn

Surfaces peace and clarity.

Mirroring the truth of the moments.

Emerging  in the space of stillness.

As all  the agitations drop as sediments

To repose the restless waters in calm

Realising the value of patience

Therein is the grace of effortless ease.

Yes, in this space, exists

Solutions,answers and the pathway

To everything you need to know

Rhythm that grounds you

Music speaks

Tunes us from within

With melody,lyrics, beats

And through it all 

Is the rhythm

That drives home

A strong rhythm

Makes itself felt

In every cell of being.

Speaking of strength of rhythm, many songs comes to mind but today the music I choose to share about is a spiritual one that immediately engages your attention and how… it will ground you as much as it makes you move in simply listening to it.

Resilience

Life is…

Resilient by nature

For it is the way of Nature

To survive the odds.

I captured this random  picture of resilience standing tall and proud along the way in the form of a full grown tree. It was during one of my trips to coastal areas of  India. The state of the trunk caught my attention.

Just a message of no matter what is taken away , there is always hope of growth on the anvil.

If we care to observe resilience  imprints on every life , we will probably develop a deeper understanding of life  in the living and learn to respect and nurture it.

Life takes us many paths

We walk many roads

We experience many bumps

We feel this too shall pass

And wait for the better.

But what if we realize

The bumps and boulders

That come in our path

Are the pathways for clarity

They are the kind of roads

We have to pass through

To become who we are.

Everything has a reason

Nothing is accidental

So next time you find

A bump on the path

Acknowledge the wisdom

That it brings along

In the path towards clarity.

In this cosmic travelling
We never know
How far we have travelled
Or how far yet to go.
In what form or in which place.
The mystery is beyond
Our comprehension.
Yet we are aware of
Our presence In this
present moment.
Let us strive not to waste it .
Make every effort
To make it worthwhile
In this long journey

Space

The concept of having space

Between things is a wisdom

A wisdom that creates  balance.

Between thoughts

Between words.

Between songs are silent spaces

Between breaths exist space that bridges the inhale and exhale.

Between life

Be it trees , flowers or animals

Space allows it to grow…

Between people

Space allows for freedom to be to express and share

Boundaries create respect and safety

Creating healthy relationships.  

Allowing for rest and regenerate

With peace of mind, body and spirit.

A question  then arises…

How much space do you need

To protect your peace?

And how much space do you give

To sustain the peace?

Space.

Space allows.

Space that expands

Space that acknowledges you.

Space that lets you be.

Space that speaks to you in you.

Space that listens as it speaks

Space that evolves you

Space for growth and learning

Space that liberates

Space frees

I wrote this piece in a flow…

In a space of calm.

I enjoyed  writing it  as I began  playing with space in and around the poem  unknowingly at first but then intentionally after the sixth line. As I patterned the flow… I began channeling my thoughts …in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 , 6, 5, 4, 3,2,1 words.

I hope you enjoy reading it.

Balancing the breath



Serendipitous dawn
Across emerald waters
Spiraling sun shines
Balancing my breath
On soft sandy shores
Ocean mist fills my senses.

The Vision & verse…

A bit on writing this poem.

I choose an open structure  with just a light punctuation such that the lines flow into one another and can be interpreted creatively.  I recognize it is a natural way for me to write.

I remembered a day where simply walking on such a  peaceful eastern shore, I felt the shifting energy bring balance in my being. There was just me the sky  and the ocean, today I have tried to envision that lived moment, that presence I felt in the white sands and whiffs of ocean mist in just these six lines of verse.

Beauty of impermenance

Today,  I came across a beautiful  Japanese word called ‘Komorebi’ that depicts…the beauty  of light filtering in through the leaves. And I see this picture, that I had saved, somehow seems to fit right in…

Beauty of impermenance

Every ray of light
In these leaves …
Can never be replicated
To exact moments.

Yet there is stillness
In its fleeting moment
In simple appreciation,

And heartfelt acknowledging

Of the beauty of impermenance.
