PTSD: Conquering The Invisible: – A Holistic Approach to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder –
Exactly six years ago, I was approached by my friend now, Maria Teresa to write a chapter and contribute to her book from the perspective of healing through the art of movements.
Privileged to have contributed my bit to this book on PTSD and how Dance can play a vital role in reducing the symptoms of the same . Available on Amazon now at http://tinyurl.com/qbcvqjs
Every bit of your doing is visible
Your social media profile is in display
But so are your searches and history
Of sites visited and clicked
How about that?
We are living in a fast paced world
With too little concern for ethics
Every harmless search by you
For you or for another on the internet
Is a window of opportunity
For someone to make bucks.
Are you ready?
To let it go on
Dont you feel invaded?
Your privacy is your right!
What’s worse it’s up for sale!
Data mining is the culprit
I am no technology geek
But tech savvy enough
To realise the infringement
Of the online into my real world.
Tell me how you feel
Sharing your every action
Without your knowledge.
To know someone unknown
Has your likes and clicks down pat
And sells it to a third party for money
What are your thoughts on this?
Do you wonder about
The far reaching implications.
Are you comfortable?
Where is your sense of being?
Your space to make sense of life!
Are you acquainted well and in tune with your habitat?
How well do you know of who you are?
Can you fathom the potential possibilities
Of your ubiquitous and unique life?
Between the known and unknown
Of the simple to the complex
Emerge new patterns in the making
From the reigning confusion in the chaos.
Creating in the exploring
Illusory dimensions in reflections
What is logical and yet elusive
The ambiguity of certainty!
And yet …
Our sense of being, while creating new patterns of thoughts is deeply rooted in nature, and in nurture, which gives it a sense of direction in spite of the chaos and confusion.
Treat yourself well
And treat others equally well!
Be true to your word
For both matter a whole lot
Value your sense of self esteem
But value another’s right to theirs.
True integrity lies in…
Practicing one’s own preaching
Being nice is not a weakness
Worry not a loss of control
For a little consideration
Goes a long long way
Let there be dignity of being
As it makes it easier to reach out
No one is an island
Every one is necessary and important
For who they are and deeply entwined
In the grand plan of life .
Be mindful and conscious
Of what you feel and say.
Be aware of what comes your way
And steer clear of the unnecessary.
Stay true to who you are
For you are best at being you
For Integrity speaks from deeds not words
Make sure your actions justify your words
And sense the calm you feel in your heart
And watch the ease of being when with another
All it needs is a little care and concern
For the world in and around you!
