Learning from a free spirit



Today I write about my dear and very loving father…

Perhaps the most uncomplicated man.

A paragon of the free spiritedness of a child.

He has an uncanny ability to be happy like a child.

What he desires are little things like a child.

Yes, he knows how to get what he  desires

But the happiness he feels & expresses, in the most ordinary things

That is his blessing of simplicity.


Life can be an epitome of adventure and adaptability.

It can challenge you & test your resilience & reserves

But to be able to be in touch with the inner child in you.

No matter how  life takes its toll on you

Is the strength in the vulnerability.



I dedicate these musings today to my eternally ‘young at heart’ father.

For from him, I have imbibed many beautiful learnings
Will share three, especially relevant here…

  • To be able to find happiness in the ordinary things.
  • To be able to stay hopeful, light & positive, no matter the density in the moment.
  • To think well of all and make way for happy thoughts and share goodwill.

    Curiosity kills the cat! But…what is that?🐱

    Can’t I have my peaceful moment?🐱

    Although today is being celebrated as the ‘World Animals Day’

    Every day is animals day!
    World Animal Day is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare celebrated annually on October 4, the feast day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

    A good dancer invites you on a journey

    You choose to flow along if you wish

    Never in compulsion but in emulsion

    Of the spirit of the moves

    In unison from the heart of the art

    In emulation of the joy of the dance

    That frees you into acknowledging

    The rhythm within so divine.

    Listening to the melody in reverance

    Tuning to the beat of the distant drums

    Movements in momentous vibrance

    Then all is harmony in the symphony.

    Another day dawns!

    Magnificent Sun!
    Across the distant horizon resplendent in all its radiant hues sun shines on its blessings and bejewels the sky. The leaves unfurl themselves a little bit more, with strength and energy and basking with confidence in its radiance. So glad the bitter cold of the night has moved away, they glide lovingly content in this moment that glows with warmth!

    The buds awaken themselves and bloom willingly only to reveal their astoundingly tender beauty. And soulfully they turn seeking the brilliance of the magnificent sun …catch them dancing the dance of beauty and grace that’s shimmering in its rays…Maybe they know well the time they have with the sun is precious and know they must live it with all their might and behold it’s a breath-taking sight !


    Who better to seek to understand the preciousness of time …. to understand the wisdom of time than from a tender flower a midst its unabashed beauty!

    Time is precious!

    Fill your day brightly !

    Live the moments!

    Make it yours to love!

    Shine and sparkle some more !

    Would you take a seat and join me

    To behold the breathtaking brilliance

    Of rejuvenating reflections.

    Where the sky and land merge in the mystical lights

    Just sit along blessed to be able to commune with nature

    As it evokes its mesmerizing charms

    Where each moment feels heavenly

    As the winter sun blesses you with its enticing warmth.

    Watching the pleasing patterns up in the sky!

    What a treat to be able to sit by

    And breathe in the refreshing view…

    Of vast open spaces that seem so serene

    Up above and all around as far as the eyes can see…

    Letting go of all that’s spurious.

    And just be able to sense the joy of this one moment…

    Caring To Listen

    The Heart of Nature
    Plays tunes for those who listen.
    Pull a single chord in nature
    You will hear it commune in the synchrony

    Being In nature we understand
    The value of balance
    And we learn to trust in faith
    As we inspire wonders of nature.
    And a certain reverence for life.

    For in respecting life in and around us
    We learn to understand ourselves more.

    Nature teaches us much,

    If we truly care to listen.

    A little more…

    A want of more
    Than what one has
    A little more of everything
    And then some more

    The stakes keep rising
    For fame, name and wealth
    For success must be achieved
    No matter the consequence.

    Such is the nature of life
    Of curiosity wonder and awe.
    Without wisdom of moderation
    Wants continue to grow.

    Greed and avarice
    Raises its hood
    Life turns material
    And ripples of chaos reigns.

    When ripples turn still
    There is union in the being
    From desire to contentment
    Fulfillment in the realisation.

    When wanting evolves to knowing
    In understanding, all is within
    Both the wants and the knowing.
    Seeking sublimes in silent awareness.
