A Connected Life
This year I celebrate my five years of being and serving as a Member of International Dance Council UNESCO
Sharing a note I wrote 5 years ago…
Honoured to be nominated as an official Member of the International Council of Dance UNESCO. It’s the official umbrella organization for all forms of dance in all countries of the world. Its members are the most prominent federations, associations, schools, companies and individuals in over170 countries.
Have to certainly add that back in the 1960’s it was a visiting delegation from UN that had come to India who had got my dear father interested in learning these International Dances and later on teaching these dances as a hobby and now after all these years as his daughter, to have been certified by CID UNESCO I am touched indeed to say the least.
Thank you Dad for sharing with me this Magic of Dance. I am truly grateful that our simple dream of sharing the joy of Dancing by not only training people to dance but also specialising in applications of dance in holistic wellbeing through Dance Concepts, has been nominated to join UNESCO CID.
It surely connects the dots into a beautiful circle.
The prospect of working under the guidance of this phenomenal institution gives one unbelievable new strengths.
Learning to dance is indeed a ‘labour of love’ and I cherish every moment. How privileged we are to share this indescribable ‘magic of dance.’
Hoping to take the art of Dance to empower more and more people to sense and love the beauty of every movement in the moments called Life.

In the state of flow
A divinity in motion.
The truth by far
Is within us to find
Every truth unravelled
Conveys the wholeness
Of the harmonious flow
Each truth is sufficient
For the being to know.

Designed to function optimally
To float and swim in the water
Such precise definitions
Of structure and shape.
Each of the maker’s manifestation
So unique and unparalleled.
Wonder what moves the creator
To create such form and function
So remarkably created!
Every life is truly magnificent
Blessed and ordained
With life’s infinite abundance
Such is the Wonder of wonders!

Surreal vision, silken dreams
Silver sky, hues of blues
Serene spaces beyond places
Known and unknown
Purple daze, violet lake.
Ethereal vision entwined passions!
Enchanting sight, purple light!
The colour purple symbolizes many things like mystery creativity, romance, royalty, luxury, pride and peace.
It is the colour artists are often fond of.
Spiritually, colour purple and violet assist in the expansion of awareness and in connection of deeper consciousness.

Cage not the heart of those who dream of the yonder
Beyond the clouds over the hills
Their spirit seeks to wander.
Across the horizon, their soul belongs
Seek not to hold them
For they are way ahead of you already
Too swift are their thoughts
Too far away are their hearts
Too distant are you from them already
Not for them, the mundane chores
Not for them, the worldly spoils
Not for them, the earthly desires
Not for them the meaningless wants
Seek not to find common ground
For they have moved on way back in time
Neither in dreams or in dare
Can there be a parallel
Seek not, as your paths are not meant to cross.

Space Between The Steps

Just like the sounds of music in the spaces between the notes, there is dancing in the spaces between the steps. It is only when we become aware of the value of the spaces between the thoughts that we can truly reflect, revel and live with ease through our lives.
The pinnacle of access to our realization of the creative entities at work would actually be in the silence, in the intentions, in an emotional journey of profound fulfilment. The trick is to find that point of the immense creative surge and be able to nurture it.
Rest and activity go together just as much as night and day… and like the yin and the yang, the pauses in between two breathes, inaction in between the action, brings forth the clarity, purity, and the intensity of that which is evolving.
It’s disheartening that our world has become so hyperactive. Multitasking has become the order of the day, people spend time having dinner in front of televisions, reading is done with music, and very often we have mobile phone calls that cut through a real conversation. So much has there been an abuse of our bodies and mind that we truly have forgotten the importance of non-activity and quietude.
The stillness between your actions or movements are the bridges to our conscious experiences and the greater your awareness the greater the creative potency of the action itself.Savvy
Dancing socially de-stresses the body mind and spirit holistically. Taking a momentto value the steps you dance together, valuing the music you are dancing to, appreciating this moment & appreciating the partner you have at this moment will only cultivate the value for oneself and will help in centring oneself deeper in the action with a joyful heart and soul.
When you dance, if you still your thoughts to simply learn to flow with the partner, the atmosphere, the music you will undoubtedly enliven yourself in the process and what you have is a beautiful dance of togetherness bridging the spaces between the steps with a conscious awareness …… And that is when dancing feels like a miracle that’s happening!

Few more thoughts in the flow….
- Start the day with a few minutes of silence and observing the breath
- Take time to pause and watch nature and try to be one with it . .. Maybe a sunrise, a sunset, a beach view watching the waves, the stars in the sky, the moon, the sky, or a rose or any flower or potted plant, or maybe a tree in your garden.
- Make sure to have moments where you are free of your cellphone, tv, computer, or any electronic appliance.
- Make a point of actually listening and understanding as others speak and allow the other to speak as much as yourself.
- Accept every moment in the life you have now and cherish it for what it is…cultivating an attitude of gratitude.
