Where the sky and land merge in the mystical lights
Just sit along blessed to be able to commune with nature
As it evokes its mesmerizing charms
Where each moment feels heavenly
As the winter sun blesses you with its enticing warmth.
Watching the pleasing patterns up in the sky!
What a treat to be able to sit by
And breathe in the refreshing view…
Of vast open spaces that seem so serene
Up above and all around as far as the eyes can see…
Letting go of all that’s spurious.
And just be able to sense the joy of this one moment…
Savvy
The brilliance of this moment is captured so beautifully in this picture (hats off to the unknown photographer) that it seems to be a place to sit a while and reminisce over the simple joys of being… what say?
And speaking of One moment in time…
I cant help but remember the beautiful hit song by the same name. Here are two amazing versions of the song.
In continuation of my reflections on the Mirror, I came across this relevant piece on lessons from a mirror…
3 lessons mirror teach us.
1. It reflects things as it is , whatever stain or dirt in our face , it never adds or reduce it.
We should learn to show (whether it is our spouse, children, relatives or friends,)others merits or faults just as they are. Never exaggerate or hide just because of our prejudices. Never make mountain out of a molehill or viseversa.
2. The mirror reflects only when we are in front of it. Once we move away it becomes silent.
Learn to praise or complaint to the person directly when they are face to face . Never backbite. Appreciate them personally or talk about their defects that bother you in person, Never to a third person when they are not there.
3 The third lesson is we never get angry with the mirror because it is showing the stains or defects in our face.
Similarly when someone points out our defects we should learn to thank them instead of getting angry or hurt and try to correct our faults.
Next time whenever you stand in front of a mirror, remember these lessons.
An interesting article for those who believe that all we see is all that exists.
It stimulates our lateral thinking :
To something that is beyond!!
This lovely parable is from “Your Sacred Self” by Dr. Wayne Dyer.
In a mother’s womb were two babies. One asked the other: “Do you believe in life after delivery?”The other replied, “Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”
“Nonsense” said the first. “There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?”
The second said, “I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we can’t understand now.”
The first replied, “That is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is to be logically excluded.”
The second insisted, “Well I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here. Maybe we won’t need this physical cord anymore.”
The first replied, “Nonsense. And moreover if there is life, then why has no one ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.”
“Well, I don’t know,” said the second, “but certainly we will meet Mother and she will take care of us.”
The first replied “Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That’s laughable. If Mother exists then where is She now?”
The second said, “She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her this world would not and could not exist.”
Said the first: “Well I don’t see Her, so it is only logical that She doesn’t exist.”
To which the second replied, “Sometimes, when you’re in silence and you focus and listen, you can perceive Her presence, and you can hear Her loving voice, calling down from above.”
*May be this is one of the best explanations to the concept of ‘GOD/Source’!*
This Now’ is a just a flicker
In the vast endless space.
A fleeting moment,
That travels backwards in Time.
Never to return on its one-way path.
Never blink your eyes, lest you miss
The beauty of the Moment.
Some moments well captured in this time frame.
Stays afresh like the etching on a rock.
A single moment, so potent
To change the course of your life.
A bliss or curse depends on the Awakening Awareness of its Transcience.
Seek an understanding mind
Make no effort to stagnate,
As flowing is its innate Nature.
Senses wandering free
Unmindful of the other
Thoughts floating like clouds
Unconnected actions of body n mind
Aimless moments, effortless wastage
Unaware of the flow of Time.
Like sand seeping through the fingers
‘This Now’ dissolving in the past,
Creating a formless future, at what cost?
Potent moments become futile.
Detachment is different from disconnection.
Awareness is not aligned to alienation.
Make an effort to be consciously present
Not to miss a moment of breath,
‘Be in the Now’ to witness the magic of Life.

Sharing my mothers reflections here on the value of the moments. She wrote this after reflecting on my earlier poem
My recent poem ‘The Middle Path of Peace‘ evoked many responses. The following verses are my musings to a comment … Especially the one by a reader on the necessity of war.
I propose here a moment in peace
Through the following verses…
Hate is never meaningful, love is
War is never meaningful, peace is.
To confuse war to be the answer for peace
Is the greatest fallacy of mankind
For the war never truly ends once begun
It sprouts the seeds of hate before it is over.
Yes, wars are fought
When equality and freedom are forfeited
As a privilege of a few,
When oppression and chaos reign,
When pushed beyond resilience,
When backing down is not an option,
For it is, then, a matter of self-preservation and survival.
Every little step
Makes a difference
For in every little move
Is a power that can change the world.
Keep tiny steps if you must
But remember every step in time
Takes you closer to your intentions
Make sure to envision the best
And march forward
In the direction of your dreams
Step up!

A young writer friend from Africa had shared that she took a tiny leap of faith today in her own little way by sharing first video about her life.
Reading about it inspired me to write a message of hope and positivity to her. For her so called little step, truly will make a big difference to someone somewhere to take a step ahead in faith.
Success is a result of every bit of earnest endeavour in time.
If something seems to be useless to one person, there is always a possibility of so many who may find it useful.

Often profound meaning arrives from the most mundane and the so called ordinary moments in life and living. For the truth is out in the open but our overworked brain often misses these simple truths for it chooses to search for meaning in the complexities. But what is wonderful to know is that all is never lost… for every step makes a difference matters to the whole some how somwhere.
Blazing sun
Scorching sands
Sizzling days
Humid nights
Awaiting relief
Summer to rain
First shower
Fragrant earth
Heavenly delight
Rainy holidays
Feeling cool
Corn on cobs.
Cheap thrills
Small puddles
Splashing water
Rain coats and caps
Unfolding umbrellas
River on streets
Muddy water
Flooding roads
Chaotic confusion
Delayed trains
Traffic stops
People stranded
Rainy days turn dreary
All wet and weary
Hoping for relief
From incessant downpours
Awaiting a change
Of the Season in question
Life is circle
Of seasons in cycles
Each births and gives way
For another, on its way.
Amidst it all
Are those little glimmers of hope
Understated and unsaid
Unseen and unspoken
Little joys of being
That makes you make it…
Through yet another day.
These glimmers of hope
Though seasons may change
Hope is here to stay!

Well, this one turned out to be a really long walk through the seasons!🙂 But seriously, as I started thinking of the changing seasons, with winter knocking our welcome door, I realised how much harsh winter could get for someone far away as well. So it goes for the other seasons…
Yet every season is a magical gift, and leaves us with glimmers of hope!
We do need our seasons to come and go like they always do, one after the other for then, all is well with our world. 🙂
I am not a milk consumer, but at home, everyone loves plenty of yoghurts to go along with food. In fact, it is considered to be appropriate for digestion, and as Indians, we often tend to finish the meal with some buttermilk.
For the past few weeks the milk we would curdle to make homemade yoghurt became increasingly slimy, to say the least. The brand I was buying is one of India’s biggest and well known. I have often read about adulterated milk and it’s implications on health and wellbeing but somehow never got down to testing the milk itself.
Recently I came across a Milk testing kit and I decided to check it out myself. It is easily available once I began to check out for it … I truly wonder why I didn’t ever think of doing this ever before.
Although there are just too many milk adulterations in the market today … this particular kit listed the few rampant ones.
Found the kit very user-friendly and it was having four parameters to check the milk on for example.
On the Milk Quality
On the Urea Content
On the Starch Content
On the Soap/ Detergent Content
As suggested the vials were duly filled with the milk and in just a matter of minutes the truth was staring at us!
Here is what the colours indicate.
Blue …. poor quality /no milk content
Sediments urea
Yellow …. starch
Yellow …. pulverised soap
So it was nothing but a concoction of chemicals.
In leaving the milk in the vials for a while after the results came through… at the time of cleaning the kits I was aghast to find that the strip in urea check container was truly stripped out… in fact, there were only a few bits of the strip left it was eaten away literally ….uric acid perhaps!
Wonder what’s happening to our insides!!!
Essentially it was no surprise that what we were consuming was not milk at all.
We have stopped buying milk from this vendor. But as I also read recently almost 65% and more of Indian milk consumption is adulterated.
Here is a video that I received as a forward on Social media. Take a moment although I must add the clip is recorded in Hindi it speaks for itself.
This is just one of the sad reality of our times.
Knowing that a majority of Indians have grown up with the belief that milk is good for health…
What are we actually feeding children?
Who is going to punish the culprits?
Do share if you have had a similar experience…
I would be keen to understand how we can tackle and overcome the rampant milk and food adulteration.
Our thoughts can make or break us in every now.. and our life seems like a hell or a blessing in the way our thoughts unfold . Every life has a unique purpose and a perseveres on with the thoughts to fulfill its being .
A transition in thoughts is an expansive phenomenona. It courses on even in attempted conquering of thoughts through control or manipulation of its meanderings into an intentional channeling in consciousness.
Transcending thoughts is a choice as thoughts come and go ..the patterns we choose to create with, through and in them, makes one consciously or subconsciously a sculptor of one’s life. And through every exercise of such a choice we can leave a poised mark in time.
That said, yet, when we choose to make our presence felt and how we emerge will all figure out along the way in the strength of an interrelation of thoughts in interdependence. So truly choices we make matters a great deal . Think well!
