Leap of Joy!

I remember as a young kid the day when my father took us all to watch a very beautiful movie called’ The day of the Dolphins’. It was the first time I saw these beautiful creatures of the sea. Since then I have always been mesmerized by the effortless grace in their movements.
Dolphins truly move gracefully and yet are active and fast in water. Indeed they are capable of astounding feats of great speed and agility. The reason for their ability to propel themselves well is not only because of a streamlined body but also due to their ability to use the positive pressure field generated by a moving body to their benefit. Their tails are strong, muscular and powerful. This explains their ability to swim on their sides turn quickly and also change directions fast.

That dolphins take big leaps off the water is well known. Many reasons can be attributed to this behavior. One of the reasons is that dolphins leap out of water while travelling to conserve energy as moving through air consumes less energy than moving in water. Others reason out that the leaping may be a signal ofcommunication with others of its own species. Or, perhaps the act could possibly even give them a better view of food options available.
Believed to be the most intelligent of all animals, dolphins are comparably as intelligent as a two year old human being. Along with their intelligence comes a finely developed sense of touch as their nerve endings are close to their skin. This also could be the reason as to why they are able to bond closely with the human species.

It seems so that dolphins spend the better part of their day indulging in social interactions. In fact the actions distinctly exhibited by them make for interesting observation. Talk of the manner in which they pop their heads out of the water, touching and rubbing pectoral fins, breaching, bows and more. Synchronous movements such as these seem to work so much like signals of communication in bonding between a pair… quite like a beautiful waltz !

What makes a face interesting?

A Face is a canvas
For emotion to play upon
Providing and hiding the clues
To what is in the heart and mind.

A face creates the first impression
At times face can decide and seal the deal
Sometimes a face can charm you
And hold you in its sway.

Faces conjure an imaginary perspective
Of the nature of the entire person
Faces can at times convey
There is more than what meets the eye.

Some faces are arresting
No not just because of their beauty
But because there is an angle
To the structure so intriguing

Deep set eyes, an upturned mouth
Jovial smile , creases & laugh lines
Or a tense brow and wrinkled temple
Sqauare jawline or dimpled cheeks.

The list is endless like creation itself
But do know, there is always a story
Behind every face that we see
And that’s what makes it interesting.

Every face is unique by its own right
Faces can mask a million emotions
In a facade of appearances
But the body never lies, its movements gives it all away.

Lookout for all the subtle signs
A twitch here and a gaze there
A wide smile that never reaches the eyes
Or a vacant stare out in the yonder…

All said and done
There is much that intrigues in a face
For it takes you to that special place
In reflections of the truth in the illusions .

Middle path of peace

True peace flows

In the middle path.

In between the extremes

Of nature is the path.

Extreme states create vulnerability

For the very strength of rigidity

Is in its ability to structure into solidity.

But solidity may not quantify solidarity.

Shaping matter to form

Is prone to creating cracks

In the spaces between shapes,

And gaps are prone to fragility.

To thrive in the optimum

Is to value continuum,

Which brings adaptability

Along with acceptability.

Our beautiful world,

This ball of blue,

Has much at stake

In these times of vulnerability.

Our nations may play on

With tactics and goodwill,

Balancing acts in deliberation,

Taking much into consideration.

To reach out,

To stay put,

To align,

To withdraw

For extreme states

Are a weakness in itself.

Extreme power by itself

Is a very dangerous tool,

Denoting self-destruction

As much as calamity in chaos.

The solution is thus,

Steering into the middle path.

When a structure gets too rigid,

Allow spaces for destressing.

When situations become hostile,

Breathe in to empathize.

When a war of words ensues,

Consider the art of negotiation.

For it is never bullets that truly win;

It is the people who do.

Steer into the path of peace.

Allay fears and acknowledge the futility

Of living in the extremes.

Tread in awareness of the middle path.

Peace is not won in battles.

Peace reigns in the heart of man.

Make way for the inner light to step out.

Let peace and goodwill guide the way!

Soul to soul,

Heart to heart

Windows of the Soul

Waltz of the Eyes

If eyes could speak
They would say a thousand words
May be more
Yes eyes speak more than words can tell
Have you seen eyes up close
They say much more

There is defiance denial
Hurt and humility
Fear and pain
Sadness and confusion
Longing for approval
And anguish of anxiety
There is judgement and approval
Brazeness and courage
Hope and trust
Mystic and magic
Enigma so magnetic
And yet there is also
Surprise and innocence
Charm and grace
Kindness and Generosity
A Light of Love
For life and living.

Light of Life.

In the vastness of the dark
A single candle makes a difference
It illuminates and creates interest
It draws attention and focus
For it casts a riveting spell
It attracts life towards it
For it is light of Life itself.

Light and dark
Fill the void
With their own potential
There is much that is yet dark
Yet even a glimmer of light
Sends out a message there is hope

The purpose of light
Is to shine on its path
In spite of the darkness
The essence of light
Is never hidden too long
Although the light
May cross paths with darkness

The nature of light
Is to shine on…
No matter the darkness
For it cannot remain
Too long in the pocket
Suppressed or subdued.

It shares from wherever it can
In every direction and distance
And when it stir up on some reflections
And has pushed those shadows behind
It knows it has fulfilled its presence

Light is all encompassing
All allowing and fearless
Lighting paths of darkness
In clarity and understanding

In the utter dark of the night
Its presence needs a little wait
In both patience and perseverance
To envision the mighty rays
The dawn of its true potential

In Lighting the hearts
Aflame in purpose
In beauty of the envisioning…
The potential of possibilities

Nature in all its awe and wonder

A testament to divinity in life and living.

Creativity & Appreciation

Creativity is propelled
In every appreciation of what is…
For creativity feeds on creative thoughts.
Every life is creative in its own way.

Unique is the human mind
It takes strength of the interconnects
And creates expression of its own being.

To acknowledge and appreciate another
Is to open the channels of creativity
In accommodation as much acceptance
Of the infinite potential of possibilities
That arises in the moment.
It gives wings to create & explore more
It widens the gamut of ones horizon
But most of all it creates a balance
Between action and inaction
Between creation to pause in gratitude.

To honour the beauty that abounds
Lifting off clouds of self absorbtion.
To witness in wonder of sheer awe
And joys of nature and nurture.
A much needed act so share
That nourishes creative instincts
To create some more.

On Togetherness

On togetherness

The question is are we strengthened or divided in time spent in togetherness. Nations that are close in proximity hardly are together like people who may live together seemingly close knitted but hardly feel united in spirit.

The picture above intrigues me…

Entwined hands in a show of unity

Three different shades of skin

Starkly different in tones and hues

Blood beneath it all is the colour red

Alive in this now and together

They seem bonded by life

Yet this show of togetherness is a far cry

And belies the truth and reeks of racial struggles of times bygone.

Light medium and dark

These three sheaths of skin

Speak volumes of the unspoken rift

They tell tales of discrimination

Of slavery and class differentiation

Of power struggles and domination

Of the oppressed and the oppressors

Of distances in between

Of privileged and underprivileged

Is this show of strength in unity … Is it

An illusion of togetherness

A kiss and tell in feigned innocence

Or a facade put forth

In the very bliss of ignorance

One doesn’t know

Like we know not how souls choose the body to live to enjoy or endure it through a lifetime.

In the blissful togetherness!

Our world today may have woken up in bits and pieces.

In awareness of equality of the sexes

With respect for beings alike

With value for human dignity by far

Yet there is ongoing war and terror everywhere

Women are not safe anywhere

As predators lurk,

Children have to be watched over carefully

None feel safe any place anywhere

And peace is the need of this planet …in this now

If there is anything that may help bridge the gap

It is the awareness of the humanity in each other

And the strength of the interconnects in the interbeing

True togetherness is a trustful knowing in interdependence

In acceptance of one another in spite of their unique differences.

These reflections in verse format are my hearts cry that poured through the verses addressing many ills and evils of society.

Namely lack of tolerance, inequality, indignity, racial discrimination, body shaming, gender bias, atrocities on women ,child safety issues as much the forest fires and global warming and not to forget the threats of terror,war and more.

We are simply making it more difficult to live in this planet with each other by our egoplays, taking one another and our world for granted and need for domination without a consideration of the consequences of our actions.

Why can’t we coexist in peace and in strength of unity in this beautiful ball of blue?

After all it is the only one world we have.

Triumph of transparency

In throwing off the apparition
Removing the mask of illusion.
Fighting off the facades in the making.
Baring open the simple truth of the soul

Lays bare the beauty of transparency,
In spite of the rawness of being.
There is the irrefutable truth of life and living.

Stark reality does not need to conspire
For everything is out in the open
No masking no faking, no facades
All is what it is.

In forging of a bond mutually
A relationship can thrive

In being truly accessible as much, as in accountability.

While barriers need to break through.

Honesty wins when transparency triumphs
Secrets out of the closet reveals a forthcoming forthrightness.
Trust regains its place in the sun.

There is disarming beauty when one speaks in truth and honesty.

Transparency in speech and actions make vulnerability its strength.

That is the triumph of transparency.

Channelizing Creativity

Someone asked me why I dance… and I said I dance to create myself.
I like to dance in my thoughts, words and deeds. By that I mean I enjoy the harmony of movements whether in thoughts or action.

Personally, I respect and value all forms of creativity and believe in the immense value of it in our daily lives.
We are all creative beings but some have to find their path themselves while perhaps for others the path is laid out for them.

We need to honour our creativity we need to find avenues to let go express and share what comes naturally to us. In that is a healing and restoring beyond compare. Have seen a single dance light up a dancers eyes or a single song or a painting stroke change the mood not only for the viewer but for the artist themselves.

Creativity is who we are and lets never forget it. The challenge though is to understand techniques of channelising creativity in a form that is valued and shared by many and that comes from practice. It is a path of immense possibilities each having the potential for soulful connects with self as much as others.

What we create is meant to be and hence we learn to channelize the flow in more meaningful ways. Just the other day standing before a painting of just two vertical lines symbolised many possibilities… a bridge, to a tube, to a scale, to a road and more… infinite mind, infinite imagination, a fodder for thought in the letting go.

Yet to channelize the thoughts is a task for many demanding ardours and disciplined approach in thinking and streamlining strategically to enhance the end product be it any art form in life and living

Creativity must never be suppressed or repressed as then it manifests in disease of the body and mind. Immense is the power of creative movements to balance the body mind and spirit.

Creative expression is the passion at play and a power of profound manifestations limitless in awareness & boundless in self-belief.

Express with every cell of your being the magnitude of your being… cos that’s what you are meant to do here.

On Thinking

Expansive & Inclusive thinking.

The importance and impact of thought on humanity cannot be denied. Positively steered thoughts transform lives and create transcendence.

Similarly, aimless thoughts lead to stagnation. And negative thinking is a road to self-destruction. Repression and suppression of thoughts through force and coercion can have harmful effects on the entire persona.

Educating the mind and heart with the power of rational thinking and clarity on topics like humanity and ethical living, natural laws of being, of the larger purpose of being than the self creates a conducive platform for steering the young minds towards self introspection and contemplation in self reflection and awareness.

For instance subjects like philosophy, psychology, sociology can be introduced in high schools along with other mainstream subjects so discussions on morality and ethics of being and humanity at a much impressionable age. Students showing interest can then be given options to advanced exploration.

Every subject has its own charm and significance, In fact including these subjects will help still a restless mind and induce tolerance and patience in thinking and relating.

In doing so the next generations understanding of the relationship of the self and world and it’s interdependence in the strength of the interconnects improves amidst the introspection. The possibilities are infinite.

Our world needs understanding in expansiveness and inclusivity more than ever… it needs governance by leaders who value response over reaction.
