All A Matter Of Attitude

Positives in Negatives

A young woman was sitting at her dining table, worried about taxes to be paid, house-work to be done and to top it all, her extended family was coming over for festival lunch the next day. She was not feeling very thankful at that time.
As she turned her gaze sideways, she noticed her young daughter scribbling furiously into her notebook.
“My teacher asked us to write a paragraph on “Negative Thanks giving” for homework today,” said the daughter.
“She asked us to write down things that we are thankful for, things that make us feel not so good in the beginning, but turn out to be good after all.”
With curiosity, the mother peeked into the book. This is what her daughter wrote:
“I’m thankful for Final Exams, because that means school is almost over.
I’m thankful for bad-tasting medicine, because it helps me feel better.
I’m thankful for waking up to alarm clocks, because it means I’m still alive.”

It then dawned on the mother, that she had a lot of things to be thankful for!
She thought again…
She had to pay taxes but that meant she was fortunate to be employed.
She had house-work to do but that meant she had a shelter to live in.
She had to cook for her many family members for lunch but that meant she had a family with whom she could celebrate.

We generally complain about the negative things in life but we fail to look at the positive side of it.
Yes there is a positive in every negative .
What is the positive in your negatives? Look at the better part of life today and make everyday a great day.

Good Day 🌻
Be safe😷

Wisdom of Being

So much wisdom in these two lines.

Speaking and listening is an elegant dance of words

As you hear more you are learning

And as you speak you are expressing

The power of what mere words can do

At the right time said in the right tone

To the right audience in all its simplicity of delivery

As much as in the profoundness of understanding

Taking time to understand

What matters before you speak

Taking time to know whom to say what

All is a dance, in the wisdom in the being

Live life lovingly!

Do you need something to happen

To be happy?

Does someone have to make you smile?

Do you need something to be done by another to feel joyous

Do you want others to impress upon you for you to be cheerful?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions …

Do you care to motivate another to be happy?

How many times have you smiled for another?

Motivation to be happy works best when its intrinsic.

Yes you have this life you are living

Make sure to make your moments happy 😊

Yes everyday is different

Life is not perhaps easy for any of us.

Sometimes the night is long

And light shines a little later than you may want it to

But know there is always a day after the night…

And light is meant to shine on your path once again.

Be happy with yourself first!

For your happiness is all around you!

Trust yourself and your life to live!

And live life lovingly!

On Compassion

Compassion is all about acceptance

It is inclusiveness in expansiveness

It is acknowledgement in patience.

Its not just a virtue.

It is about being kind to all beings.

It is about consistency of practice

It is heartfelt embodied action.

Such is soul of compassion.

BREATH

I noticed a child monk—he can’t have been more than ten years old—teaching a group of five-year-olds. He had a great aura about him, the poise and confidence of an adult.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“We just taught their first class ever,” he said, then asked me, “What did you learn in your first day of school?”

“I started to learn the alphabet and numbers. What did they learn?”

“The first thing we teach them is how to breathe.”

“Why?” I asked.

“Because the only thing that stays with you from the moment you’re born until the moment you die is your breath. All your friends, your family, the country you live in, all of that can change. The one thing that stays with you is your breath.”

This ten-year-old monk added, “When you get stressed—what changes? Your breath. When you get angry—what changes? Your breath. We experience every emotion with the change of the breath. When you learn to navigate and manage your breath, you can navigate any situation in life.”

🌹Inhale the beauty….
Exhale with Gratitude 😇

One Tree

I came across this photo

And I think to myself

How insignificantly we think

Of nature, of every life form

Just because of plenitude

But the very same attitude

Changes completely in scarcity

A reality byte indeed

Gratitude to Nature

And its myriad manifestation

Let’s acknowledge the power of one

One Tree 🌳

One life to touch another

In a multitude of ways…

And create a positive difference

Create the possibility

It’s possible

They say…

What one sees as the end

Another sees a beginning

An attitude of positivity

Can change the world around.

To be able to believe & hope

Is the beginning of positive change.

So in possibilities of the potential

Take a leap of faith in trust

And simply know It’s possible.

Create the possibility!

Reaching beyond …

Often the difference

Between mediocrity

And excellence

Is in the ability

In reaching beyond

To go the extra mile

For a cause, a passion

In dedicated perseverance

Towards a larger purpose

That is where life feels most alive.

Your life your choice.

Life is awaiting your awareness

To realize the power of your potential.

Its all in the way you choose to live.

To let go & dare to dance the skies

To take the chance on the rapids

To walk along witnessing the flow

To sit by the shores sensing it all…

The choice rests with you…

Every moment is what you make of it

Your life your way!

Value of Values

A beautiful story share that tugs your heartstrings.

Remember Kenyan runner Abel Mutai who was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped, thinking he had completed the race. Spanish runner, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was happening, started shouting at the Kenyan to continue running. Mutai didn’t know Spanish and didn’t understand. Realizing what was taking place, Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory.

A journalist asked Ivan, “Why did you do that?” Ivan replied, “My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win.”
The journalist insisted “But why did you let the Kenyan win?” Ivan replied, “I didn’t let him win, he was going to win. The race was his.” The journalist insisted, and again asked, “But you could have won!” Ivan looked at him and replied, “But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor in that medal?
What would my Mother think of that?”

Values are passed on from generation to generation.

Paradox of Connection

Life is strange

When it pulls us away

From one another.

Being at opposing ends

We are closer than ever before.

Distance brings people together they say…

Yet when we are right there

The connection feels lost sometimes

As if its strangers not a family

Life plays the game

Putting people together

And creating spaces and distances.

Time seems to slip away

As clock ticks on…

Such is the paradox of connections.

Perfect balance may be an ideal

But delving in, finding the root cause

Of these shifts in the heart and mind

Is important for the future.

We cannot live life by ourselves

We are intricately webbed together

What to speak of Connections

That goes beyond one lifetime.

So much more than what we see

Or even can imagine.

Traveling along…

Sharing a story that came my way on Social Media.

I am Travelling with you !

Every year Parents took their son to his Grandmother’s House for the Summer Break, and they would return Home in train after Two Weeks.

One Day the Boy tells
his Parents:
′′ I’m Grown Up now,
What if I go to Grandma’s House alone this Year ???”

After a Brief Discussion
Parents agree.

They were standing on the Railway Station, seeing him off,
Giving him Last Instruction through the Window,

As Boy continues to repeat:
′′ I know, you’ve already told me so many times…!”
Train is about to leave and Father whispers:
′ My Son,
If you suddenly feel Bad or Scared, this is for you !…… ′
And he slips something into his Pocket.

Now the Boy was all alone, sitting on the Train, without his Parents,
for the First Time…

He looks at the Scenery through the Window.
Around him Strangers Hustle, make Noise, Enter and Exit
the Compartment,
He gets that Feeling that he was alone..
A person even gives him a
Scary look…
The Boy felt uncomfortable…
And now he was frightened also.
He lowered his head, snuggled in a corner of the Seat,
tears rose to his Eyes.

At that Point he remembered his Father putting something in his pocket.
With a trembling hand he groped this piece of paper, and he opened it,
Son, “Don’t Worry,”
I am in the Next Compartment…

*Truth* :

This is How it is in Life…
When God has sent us in this World, all by ourselves,
HE has also slipped a note in our pocket,

*God Says:*
I am Travelling with you,
I am within your reach !
Call on Me…❗

🙏

You feel thankful & grateful

For each lesson learned.

One World

The world is beyond what we assume

There are no labels on earth

There are no maps drawn

All that we believe is what we have created for ourselves

We may have different names

We may create different countries

We may call ourselves citizens of one land

But earth knows or cares not of your distinctions of race gender or creed

It knows not rich or poor

Nature knows not class or caste

Wonder what are we so set about ?

What makes us so full of opinions?

In fact if we only could see and a acknowledge

The earth in all its beauty

There are different seasons in different places

Yet our world is not about differences

For under the sky and sun

We are one, life is vulnerable and beautiful in all its unique ways.

When we care to see diversity as a strength

We would be more caring of our mother earth.

And we would see our earth as one and only world we have.
