Live Life Lovingly!

Whose work is it anyway?

Bored?
What boredom, no time for boredom!
says my seemingly exasperated friend in India on the phone.
With the complete lockdown and most on’ Work from home status ‘majority of families are struggling to cope with rising demands of the family be it the seniors at home, children and of course pets as well. The families are now suddenly having no house help, the quintessence of urban class living.

Compared to the Western world in India still, the lure of cheaper labor force makes a household helper available to all. But in the current scare, there are no maids, let alone cooks or gardeners. Except for those who may have a live-in helper which is not often the case.

Suddenly the ‘Work from home’ status actually registers the truth. For it is truly challenging for most families who have never bothered to make their own bed or do dishes or cook ever. In fact, there are many who wait for someone else to make their tea or coffee or get a glass of water.

In these hard-pressed times the major part of the work comes to the women of the household still, in spite of all those talks of women’s liberation that goes on doing the rounds every year around early March.

To all the women, who have suddenly vowed to prove themselves superwoman please take it easy.
A little dirty corner, neglected kitchen shelves, not a four course meal, everything is acceptable. But not at the cost of your own health. Remember your falling sick at these times will be disastrous especially if there is no one to take over from you !!
Stay safe

The women are left with no options as the demands keep on rising as those who are at home are hungrier than ever with time to kill.

There are, of course, some of those evolved households where all are contributing their bit. The onus of responsibility needs to be shared, else it will make every day a living hell.

If only more young parents of today teach all their children both sons and daughters equally to cook, clean and do housework as a part of life skills training so that they also know how to manage a home when they have one, the lives of so many future families will be truly much easier.

As we see it, the future is here with new challenges and unless we are all equipped with basic survival skills and takes into account, ownership, responsibility, and teamwork and move beyond gender biases, it is truly tough to live through times like these.

How are you and your families managing this interim period?

Stay safe and healthy!

Power of Celestial Light

We are reborn every night

As the beam of sun shines upon us

Every day, we are restored with hope

And faith in the consistency.

Every night awakens to a new day

At the dawn of light

Darkness gives way even in the presence

Of a single ray of light.

Such is the power of light

To instill hope faith and trust

In the possibilities awaiting us.

To envision and uncover our undiscovered light.

To overcome the shadows

As they recede & fade away

For light makes the world more beautiful

As nature is all aglow, in its pristine glory.

So if you are feeling overshadowed in this now

Keep the faith, for your ray of light

Is just around the corner to meet you.

Keep the faith! You will step into the light!

On Being

When  things seem to turn chaotic
When all seems a little askew
When challenges seem to surmount
When life seems a little too dreary

Choose to believe
There is hope
Believe in the good
And be the good!

Life

Your thoughts are an extension of you.

But your thoughts are just a part of you.

There is infinite abundance that you are made of.

Only a part of which you may be conscious of.

The rest are within you for the knowing

To explore the potential in the possibilities

What you choose to do

With your life

It’s all up to you!

On sharing responsibly

To write is to express life from your perspective.
To read is to understand life from another perspective.

Both interweave in the joy of expression and explorations
Of discovering the truth of life in the magic of words.
Respect to the writers & readers who can spread unspeakable joy
And leave a positive impression  through mere words.

To the writers who have mastered the art of story telling                                                 Keeping the world safely engrossed  in these troubled times
Gratitude to all those who write and share with care
Ensuring to share words and thoughts
And make the  world feel a little better than before
My deepest appreciation
For, in the darkest of spaces
Even a little light of positive words & verses
Leaves the place  a little more lit.
And every word can leave a lasting impression!

Making the most of it.

An interesting story share that conveys the importance of making the most of lifes difficult situations…. do read.

After 60 years of ideal married life , they had no secrets between each other. The wife’s only request was not to ask anything or open the wooden box she had kept in the attic. The husband respected that.

On her deathbed the wife told the husband ok. I want to tell u everything. Pl. Bring the box on the attic.

When he opened the box, there were 2 woollen dolls, his wife made and 10 lakhs. in cash.
The wife explained, when I came newly married to your house my grandmother gave a wise advice. She told never to argue with you for anything. If I’m angry she told me make a woolen doll which I was good at. I practiced that all these years.

Only 2 dolls. The husband was so happy he made his wife angry with him on only 2 occasions in theses 60 years.
What about the 10 lakhs? he asked.
Oh! That is the money I got by selling the other dolls I made.

We are.

We are braver than our fears

We are stronger than our doubts

We are capable beyond our beliefs

We are meant to surmount the storms

We are meant to move and manifest

The truth of the purpose of life itself.

For we are more far more

Than what we seldom think.

We are meant to be!

Breach and Trust🐋

Have you seen the whales breach
In such confidence they soar upward
They even maneuver a twirl
And fall back in complete trust
In the support of the water below.
How beautiful an example can mother nature give
Of unfolding grace in trust and confidence

Much of our lifes story can be just as beautiful.
When it is in a flow like that
When we rise in success with faith
Being completely confident of our purpose
When we surrender in complete unflinching trust
Knowing there is support and love flowing in the roots.

Why are humans rising and touching the stars?
Why are we progressing phenomenally
Yet why are we crash landing at times?
Why are we failing?
While it is the faith in ourselves that may take us upwards
Bu the lack of trust and support for one another brings us down.
Perhaps we need to learn from water
How to be flexible in its fluidity.
To be adaptable in its buoyancy
And then we too can rise again with every fall.

For inspite of every ability we have …
Support from our family and friends
Matter more than we know!

Wouldn’t you agree?

When you have faith in your roots then every leap of faith is of a trustful knowing
That no matter how far you reach you have a home to come back to!

Behind the Apparent

Story behind the photographs

Yesterday I posted a verse that came to me inspired by these captures. Here is the link https://wp.me/p6a0yZ-4CX

There is more to these photos…

While visiting Lourve Museum in France and while walking around those endless galleries of amazing artists and their creativity galore, my eyes turned to a glassdoor near the flight of steps.
I chanced upon this wonderful sculpture on the roof top of the facade, reaching out to the yonder as if to tell something… I filled in the blanks.

Sometimes we are so deeply caught in the maze of life around us.
But if we only care to look beyond it all, we are inspired to see so much more.

Art is in the way you see life.
Art is all around us and is but a perspective of the nuances.
All you need is the heart to appreciate.

Your place in the sun

What does it take to live life well?

A whole lot of passion
To go after your dreams
A whole lot of perseverance
To achieve your intentions

A whole lot of patience
To wait out the storms.
A whole lot of common sense
To find your way around.

But most of all
A whole lot of thankfulness
And a whole lot of gratitude
To know your place in the sun.

Make Peace Not War

Every weapon made, adds to the fear
And false satisfaction of keeping you safe.
You can never be safe, when at war
Every armor is simply a pointer
Of the state of things.
Of the need of peace than war.

Every need to create ammunition
Shows the truth of retaliations.
Revenge in fear or dare is never the answer.
Resolution is where peace makes its way.

If we must be led, let us be lead
In strength of patience.
To explore possibilities
Let us choose to disarm.
Let us disengage and make amends.
Let us choose peace than war.
Let us find the middle path
In reconciliation.
Let us recognize the wrongs done.
Let us learn to undo the mistakes.
And move in harmony and oneness.
That is when we can together
Heal the world in peace
And make it worth living.

When Love Matters Most.

LETTER FROM A MOTHER TO A DAUGHTER …

” My dear girl, the day you realize that I’m older, I ask you to be patient , but above all , try to understand what you ‘ll be passing by . When we talk , I repeat the same thing dozens of times , do not interrupt me saying : ” You said the same thing a minute ago .” Just listen , please. Try to remember the times when you were a child and I read the same story night after night until you sleep . When I do not want to bathe , do not be angry and not encabule me . Remember when you were a kid I had to run behind you making excuses and trying to put you in the bath ? When you realize you have difficulties with new technologies , give me time to learn and not look at me that way … remember, dear , how I patiently taught you many things such as eating right , getting dressed , fix your hair and give you with the problems of everyday life … the day you see that I’m older, I ask you to be patient , but above all , try to understand what you ‘ll be passing by . If I occasionally get lost in a conversation , give me time to remember and I do not, do not be nervous , impatient or arrogant . Just remember , in your heart , that the most important thing for me is to be with you . And when I grow old and my legs do not allow me to go as fast as before , give me your hand the same way that I offered him my much in its infancy . When that day comes , do not feel sad. Just stay with me and get me while I finish my life with love . I will love and thank you for the time and joy we share. With a smile and always had immense love for you, I just want to say I love you my dear daughter. “

Ethics & Conscience

To get ahead no matter the consequences

Not bothering to care

Not caring to understand

Not understanding to reach out

Not reaching out to help

Not helping as there is lack of knowing how.

Fumbling through life without focus

Fudging grades in education

Feeling one as more important than another.

Favoritism nepotism

Ego raising its ugly head.

Corrupt practices, red tapism at work

Muddling & messing with others

Lack of knowledge of what matters

Until it all comes back to haunt

This is the truth of life lived without ethics.

This attitude is the root cause of the collapse of a collective conscience of a community.

Interestingly while writing this post I happened to come across this beautiful quote below by Mahatma Gandhi in a post by Beth

https://wp.me/p27iYj-55m.

What is the answer?

Educating hearts as much as educating minds.

As there is no one without the other.

When Creativity Dares

Today I complete my 500 days of writing consecutively here on WordPress, with my 500th post. Special and heartfelt thanks to all my readers and followers who have supported me in this journey of writing.

I would like to mark this day by writing about one of my favorite topics Creativity.

Creativity is fueled by the fire of passion. Often instinctual and deeply captivating, it is an expression of your innate potential. With it you are in touch with your deepest core. You are consciously awakening to the infinite abundance within, in every channelling.

Creativity spurts in the most unexpected ways.

It surges forth a river of possibilities

It amplifies the potential within

It leads you to rethink and challenge the norms.

It dares to question the accepted and projects perspectives.

It explores and creates paths for evolution.

It defies conventions to envision out of the box ideas.

It justifies the necessity of freewill through the art of movements

To create resolutions in times of confusion and chaos.

To manifest simplicity in times of complexity.

To innovate and change the statuesque in times of staid compliance.

To design and redesign towards efficiency and effectivity of purpose.

When creativity dares it is in communion with infinite abundance.

It is creativity that stokes the fire

It is creativity douses the flames.

Creativity has a solution for every problem.

Art of Management

Team Management

Management calls for special skillsets but with changing times the skills have much to do with empathy in people management. Every head of department faces different sets of difficult situations but most common to all is getting the work done by the team effectively increasing productivity with the available resources.

You are improving your team every time you incorporate the following ways

1. When you talk less, and are listening more.

2 . When you begin to delegate work to the right team members and increase the sense of responsibility in them.

3.When you are able to speak assertively with confidence and empathy than simply ordering people around.

4. When you are able to analyze and share appraisals to resolve and find solutions in a non judgmental manner.

5. When you are able to steer and guide them in their endeavors without overtaking the joy of effort.

6. When you practising collaborating with your team instead of trying to be the controlling one.

Every team is unique as the people in it and this makes it uniquely interesting to manage as well.
