Live Life Lovingly!

The Journey of Life.

Sharing this insightful post that came in as a forward.

IQ , EQ , SQ , AQ

…..According to psychologists, there are four types of intelligence:

1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)
3) Social Quotient (SQ)
4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)

1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ): this is the measure of your comprehension ability”, solve maths; memorize things and recall subject matters.

2. Emotional Quotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others; keep to time; be responsible; be honest; respect boundaries; be humble, genuine and considerate.

3. Social Quotient (SQ):
This is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go farther in life than those with high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize in improving IQ level while EQ and SQ are played down.

An individual with high IQ can end up being employed by a person with high EQ and SQ even though the person has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your character; your SQ represents your charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs but more especially your EQ and SQ.

EQ and SQ make one manage better than the other.

Pls don’t teach children only to have higher IQ , but also to have higher EQ and SQ.

Now there is a 4th one :
A new paradigm

4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ):
The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life and come out without losing your mind.
AQ determines who will give up in face of troubles and may abandon their families.

*To parents*:
Expose children to other areas of life than academic. They should adore manual work (never use work as a form of punishment), sport and art .

Develop their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of the parents.

*Finally*, do not prepare the road for the children. Prepare the children for the road.

Live life lovingly!

It’s wonderful and easy

When life is a breeze

But the test is when

It’s a little stormy…

Life is a gift

Any which way

The trick is to see

The many blessings

That at times goes unnoticed.

Live life lovingly!

Envisioning Grace

Visions from the sky!

In these following verses, I recount the visions from the sky that I enjoyed a few months ago before all the chaos, in deep gratitude for the beauty of nature… Across lands divided by human maps, what emerged significantly was how the scenery in spite of its individual attributes, flowed merging seamlessly into one another in harmony… Amazing nature amazing grace… I couldn’t help but waltz along.🙂

I see her splendid beauty
Crystalize itself in front of my eyes.
Mountain tops bejeweled with ice
I watch her dancing

In the fluidity of the flow
Rivers shimmering in the rays of the sun
I waltzed along with her through the horizon

As the plane paddled alongside fluffs of white clouds.

Green pastures and plains
Gave way to rocky mountains

Folds over the hills stretching on
As long as the eye could fathom
A vision to behold
And time after time

The Sun would play hide and seek
Dancing cheek to cheek with the clouds
It was pure fascination
As I watched it all from up above

Magical majestic mystical mother
You are alluring and awe-inspiring in every way
Your beauty blows my mind
And captures my senses
Graceful God, I bow to thee!

Find peace within

Yesterday was my mother’s birthday. And I came across this reflection of hers by chance and started reading it, Although she is living far away in another city, I deeply connected with her in every moment as I was reading this. Wishing her a beautiful blessed day!

Finding peace

Happiness is an abstract state which gives us high,
makes us feel positive about everything,
makes us forgive peoples faults, brings a smile in our face n laughter in our mind,
gives us strength,
brings love to our heart,
makes our surroundings beautiful, makes life worth living,
radiates our being irrespective of the outside effects.

Happiness is the real state we are born with. That is our real form, shrouded by the clouds of acquired and induced qualities as we walk along this long path of life. In due course, it gets overshadowed by outside influences that we forget how to be really happy. We start seeking happiness from outside sources forgetting our own storehouse inside us.

Thus starts our dependence. Whether material, emotional, physical, or spiritual, for everything we start seeking help from other people or substances which gradually grow from need-based to the necessity which we cannot live without. In the long run, the very source we think gives us happiness adds nothing but misery. The more u seek outside the more ur inner light dims.

How to come out of this self-induced predicament. Really very hard as the acquired dirt must have become layers of solid sediments. A little Viveka n Vairagya are the tools God has provided us with, to unearth the hidden treasure, of Happiness Within.

Viveka means right understanding, discriminating knowledge n true wisdom.

Vairagya means detachment, dispassion, maintaining a state of mental equilibrium.

Developing both these qualities help us to be in a peaceful happy state irrespective of outer influences knowing their transient nature. The more we delve in these, the nearer we go to our inner self which is the abode of ultimate BLISS.

The ever-changing face of the sky
The dancing flames of the fire,
The soothing flow of the air,
The flowing waves of the water,
The surface of Mother Earth
All just set to put in our mind the transience of Nature.

The rising and setting of the Sun,
The waning and waxing of the
Moon,
The revolution and rotation of the earth,
The cycle of the changing seasons
Just to remind us nothing is forever to stay.

The karmic cycle of birth and death,
The changing phases of lives,
The changing moods of the mind,
The swaying patterns of wealth
Aren’t enough to teach the human mind equanimity and humility?

How many more lessons does one need?

Anjana.

This piece ‘ Finding Peace’ resonates deeply. Especially so in these chaotic times.

Beauty of innocence

Some Very Beautiful Examples of Innocence, which will touch your heart…

1. Author and lecturer, Leo Buscaglia, once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was:

A four-year-old child, whose next door neighbour was an elderly gentleman, who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old man’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbour, the little boy just said: ‘Nothing, I just
helped him cry.’
👍👍

2. Students, of class one in a school, were discussing a student’s family picture. One little boy in the picture had a hair colour, different from the other family members.
One of the other students suggested that he was adopted.

A little girl said: ‘I know all about
adoption, bcoz I was adopted..’

‘What does it mean to be adopted ?’, asked another child.

‘It means’, said the girl, ‘that you grew in your mommy’s heart, instead of her tummy.!’
👍👍

3. Whenever I’m disappointed with my life, I stop and think about little Jamie Scott.
Jamie was trying out for a part in the school play.
His mother told me that he’d set his heart on being in it, though she feared he would not be chosen..

On the day the parts were awarded, I went with her to collect him after school.
Jamie rushed up to her, eyes shining with pride and excitement.. ‘Guess what, Mom,’ he shouted, and then said those words that will remain a lesson to me..: ‘I’ve been chosen to clap and cheer.’
👍👍

4. An eye witness account from New York City , on a cold day in December.
A little boy, about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the road, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering
with cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said: ‘My, but you’re in such deep thought staring in that window!’
The boy replied:’I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes.’

The lady took him by the hand, went into the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy.
She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel.
He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back
part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with the socks.
Placing a pair upon the boy’s feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes..

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him. She patted him on the head and said, ‘No doubt, you will be more comfortable now..’

As she turned to go, the astonished kid caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears
in his eyes, asked her:

*’Are you God’s wife………?’*

Evidence of simplicity

The evidence of simplicity
A moment of capture
Of ordinary things.
Without the facades.

Simple can be profoundly impactful
For in the very complexity of the matter
Resides clarity of the simplicity.
Simplifying the truth of purpose
In easily understandable ways.

So beyond the flourishes
And aggrandizement
Beyond the exuberance
And unnecessary buildups
Beyond the extravagance
And the ensuing distraction.

The path of simplicity
Needs no evidence
As simple gets across the message
Like no other.

What’s your path like?
What is your take on simple living?
Or do you dream of luxuriant living?
Has it changed or been affected by the years?
Have these times of uncertainty made a difference in the perspectives?

CALM

Calm is a state of mind not easy for many, especially in these times of confusion and chaos.

To put things in perspective in spite of uncertainty calls for a whole lot of balance in the way we sense whatever we are witnessing.

To be calm as a way of being we need to envision beyond our limited self. When we put our problems in the larger canvas of life we begin to see our niggling problems differently. In fact, many of them disappear for we cannot justify their existence ourselves in the larger scheme of things. We let them go.

To soothe ourselves into a space of calm we will need to change our demands on ourselves for a start. This need for perfection that exceeds the normal has to be sorted as it can drain us and our resources in trying to match up so much that it puts us in a constant state of tension. Calm is about cultivating an attitude of forgiveness not only others but for oneself. So best is to excuse oneself from overt perfectionism.

Ease the self

To a state of calm

Allow thoughts to settle

Like the dust in the wind.

All fall in place in time.

Choose calm to beat chaos.

Beyond the Illusions

What is, may not be
What you see, can be an illusion
The truth may be far from it.
All that you see, is not all.

What is all, is not what you see
Illusions of your mind can play tricks.
Beyond your preconceived beliefs
And judgments of perception.

There is a lot more than what we are
Our vision can play tricks.
So watch what you see, up close
And perhaps, you will see more…

Paving the way for Oneness

I am saddened when I come across the mention of race by color. I am saddened that still people are called black or white or brown or yellow.

We are called out for the shades of our skin, when the truth is, we are so much more. We cannot be confined or defined by narrow eyes.

The fact is, people, see colors differently, and they may not see all the same colors while seeing the same things. There is research on how our individual brains react differently to different wavelengths of light.
Technically speaking the colors we see is an illusion created by our brain. We are not yet certain exactly how animals see perceive us and in which colors.

Why then this prejudice in words to describe life.
Humanity knows no color or creed.

Why are we still resorting to identify people into boxes, giving way to mental pictures, and conformity?
We are capable of liberating ourselves to see the bigger picture.

A dance article recently published an article that sends out a message of how Misty Copeland is a black dancer who succeeds.

Yes, we have an unequal world filled with all the ‘isms’ and the issues they bring along. It is unfair and discriminatory and biased in so many ways. Not just in race, but in species, gender, age, weight, height, class, creed, caste, religion, status, authority, education, power, and wealth.

Yet the inner light of the being surmountable all odds. And life shines through the heart of the movements.

The world must come together, as it is time to release these frames of false convictions and find in itself the ability and strength to support one another in the power of life that’s beating within us all.

Let us see beauty and talent in all colors and not attribute efforts and success to any color by birth.
When we remove reference of being a particular color we bring to light the truth of the soul and the spirit of freedom to be.

In that light, everything is illustrated in the illumination from within.

On Lead and follow

What does it take to lead?

To lead is to dare
To make the way
For others to follow

Who is a good leader?

A good leader sets an example
To demonstrate how it is done
So others can act upon it.

A good leader is a motivator
Encouraging the team in self-belief
Ever ready to appreciate and trust.

The art of good leadership
Is about taking the plunge
A leap of faith in trust and hope

What does it take to follow?

To follow takes a response
To the action taken
In complete faith and trust.

Who is a good follower?

A good follower is alert
To act upon directions given
To take orders to completion.

A good follower is a team player
Ever ready to learn some more
And increase efficiency at work.

A lesson in Leadership

Always helps to remember…

Both a leader and follower are required

There is no leader without a follower

And there can be no follower without a leader.

Shadows shimmer too!

Trust light to shine itself

Trust the shadows to find light

All is not dark forever

For light shimmers on shadows

What’s hidden uncovers itself

At some point or the other

Trust in time

Develop patience

Patterns are meant to shape

And change itself along the way

What shines has shadows

And shadows shimmer too!

Keep the faith

Shadows will find the light

All is meant to be well and bright.

There is…

Who says the page is empty?
There is poetry that is waiting to emerge

Who says the mind is blank?
There are surging thoughts full of potential.

Who says there is stillness in the silence
Stillness is overflowing with movements.

Who says the night is dark
There is light awaiting dawn!

A blank canvas is full of possibilities
Of creativity in all its flourishes in the flow.

There is the color of hope
There are patterns arising in perspectives.

There is forming and shaping of things to come
There is composition awaiting the sensing
All it needs is your faith in the envisioning.

For faith is all there is
In faith there is everything!
