Joy Of Writing

Today I touched a milestone on WordPress.

Have completed more than 365 days of writing a post every single day.

WordPress reminds me I have written a post every day for 365 days in a row.
Here I reminisce about my experience of writing a post every day on WordPress.

What is it to write 365 days consecutively?
A lot of passion patience and perseverance.
But above all is the joy of writing…

Looking back I realise the amount of contentment in the personal fulfilment of a promise I made to myself to write every day for a year.

The 365 days have certainly had their share of challenges..like relocation, health issues medical emergencies, and ensuing operations and recovery phase, marriages and demise in the family and a host of all those sudden changes of both the personal and professional kind that is prone to occur in the span of an entire year’s time.

But the whole idea for me was to see how committed I was to my writing and if writing every day would make me short of ideas ever.

What was the purpose? Simply to see if I can truly sustain in making time to do something I love and enjoy every bit of it for a long period of time.

The only clause I set for my self is to never write with a pressure to publish but to write with a passion for self-expression and send out positively charged messages through these words into space… hoping it will make a difference!

My heartfelt gratitude to my wonderful readers and followers for your support and insights that sparked much of the creativity.

Some would take time to share relevant quotes and resources, some beautiful thoughts that were truly inspiring and some would send emails sharing their personal stories and experiences and even express a desire to connect and collaborate on artistic endeavours.

So this year of committed and consistent writing on varied topics has had its rewards too inspite of the grind. Like an offer for conducting my dance workshops. an opportunity to speak on motivation and womens empowement, invitations to judge local school competitions, write and compile a book of these blogs and two enquiries to ghostwrite their books. More importantly to have come across some truly amazing people and their writings many of who have turned into great friends here in these interactions.

Good start I would say! There is, after all, no writer without a reader. Thank you all for your generous words and comments that kept pouring in motivation required to continue in those challenging times.

Looking back at the posts published, I found my life experiences of the day moving like imagery through these words and I am truly happy to have written and published my positive reflections in time.

Sharing my thoughts on what writing truly is to me in verses…

The Joy Of Writing

Never force the words out
For then there is no joy.
In fact, let your words flow from you
And remember you are just a channel.

The giving vessel will pour the words
Water this gift of creativity.
Your innate sense of understanding
Will summarize and summon the words for you.

Be proactive and prepared.
Provide time for reflections.
Reference from life and experiences.
Contemplate and convey.

The joy of writing is in the trust
Of allowing and accepting
The endless possibilities
Of creativity in the flow.

Know your thoughts are unique
In the way, they arrive and arrange
In the flow is the magic
That is playing out through you.

Enjoy witnessing the tumble through
Of words in their own arrangement.
Trust in yourself and your maker
For all is pre ordained in time.

Smile🙂

Smile no matter what
As you are truly meant to
Everything aligns in time
As it is meant to!

Smile and keep the cheer on
For it gives you strength
To face your fears head on
And you know you can beat the odds

Smile but make sure…
To smile from the heart
For it keeps your heart happy
Your body is at ease

Smile touching base with authenticity
Allow your eyes show its crinkles
Let your words express yourself
Sense the joy of a simple smile.

Keep  smiling  keep living
Live life lovingly
Smile whenever you can
Your smile will lighten
Up the moment for sure.

Remember smiling is  easy
It’s not too hard to put out a smile
Even in your darkest  days
When you smile you feel good

And create a positive impact.

Make sure to think well and be nice
For thoughts change with just a smile
So curve your lips upwards right now
And send out a smile to the world. 🙂

The Essence Of The Art of Dance

The Essence of the Art of Dance

To dance is to honour your body in every move.

To dance is to sense the freedom of the spirit.

To dance is being human to value all that you love.

To dance is to breathe in the soulful connects.

To dance is to tune in to every new moment.

To dance is to inspire another to unleash their shackles.

To dance is to meditate with creative intent.

To dance is to breathe in the wisdom of the creative spirit.

Importance Of Play

‘It’s a happy talent to know how to play’ Emerson

Importance of play

Playfulness creates  a reason to live

It makes you alive to life

It  keeps you agile and motivated

It is an all round  fitness  for all.

 Age and gender no matter

Play is important to life and living.

 It has many expressions

 Whether it is wordplay

In humour and wit

Whether it is laughter that eases tension

Or  good old moves from dancing in the free flow.

Play is a natural action

that creates well being

Play up to life.

Make life feel like play

Before life plays you!

On Caring

1bc1cf7

The motto …”Behave with others as you would want them behave with you ”is a great way to live life developing a reflective and compassionate attitude and is essential to evolving in the being. The very purpose of life’s experiences is to transform for the better, however our perspectives are often the manifest of our experiences…

A strong focus towards career and finances is no doubt important as well as necessary for life but extending beyond the self is about caring to see beyond the illusions of limited existence.

Every birth is a manifestation of hope love and care for life itself. To live denying it with overtly materialistic motives amounts to nothing at all … as in the end none can ever carry their hoardings and ferry it across. Materialistic life must give way to a more meaningful existence… that’s the way of life as it goes.

0039fe4

The most successful people on earth care about their journey than just the incentives…they enjoy their learning and sharing despite their obstacles because they look out to adding meaning to their lives.

As we respect life and value it enough to care for it , gradually there is the realization that we are never alone .. and that being self centered never works.

Remember…

Life is meant to be lived with love and care not just to exist.

On Thinking Thoughts

Thinking is open to possibilities
Thought is already channelled
To be fair and square
Thinking is about the now
Emerging in this moment.

Thought is the past
Over and done.

Yet every thought matters
As it may enable new ways of thinking…
And so it goes

Until these loops form a pattern
And hit a sweet spot of light
Illuminating a new path way!

Mysterious Manuscript

The Voynich manuscript is a famous medieval text of about 240 pages written in a mysterious language that so far has proven to be undecipherable. Some of the pages are missing, with around 240 remaining. The text is written from left to right, and most of the pages have illustrations or diagrams. Some pages are foldable sheets.
Although there are many attempts to decode the script it has been stumping cryptologists so far.
Some claims through algorithmic decoding have analyzed the language has similarities to Hebrew and even Mazatec. But there are no conclusive pieces of evidence.
The content has reference to many subjects including herbal medicine, botany, astronomical, biological, cosmological and pharmaceutical sections including a section with recipes.

The manuscript has been kept at the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Yale University since 1969. It’s named after Wilfrid Michael Voynich, the Polish book dealer who purchased it from a Jesuit library in Italy in 1912. The vellum on which it is written has been carbon-dated to the early 15th century, and it may have been composed in Italy during the Italian Renaissance.

Like its contents, the history of ownership of the Voynich manuscript is contested and filled with some gaps. The codex belonged to Emperor Rudolph II of Germany (Holy Roman Emperor, 1576-1612), who purchased it for 600 gold ducats and believed that it was the work of Roger Bacon.
 (Source Wikipedia)

Likewise to this manuscript…
There are many mystical truths
That exists around us undecoded
Some lost in translations, undeciphered
Some beyond our understandings still.
The truth is right here
For us to figure out in time.

Food matters

Reflections on food

Do you live to eat or eat to live?

I must confess I am no foodie, never carried any food fixation so far. Never craved too much for any particular food. Perhaps an occasional sweet treat was all I indulged in. Much to my surprise today I see a generation of food lovers around me who perhaps are growing in numbers as write this .Many of my friends bake amazing treats, some love watching food videos and others chocolate.

Children today are spoilt by choices more than ever before . And with the media at their fingertips most are happy to order and eat whatever food they want by the click of a finger through apps.

Food to me was to nourish my body and keep me healthy. As I grew up I realized even more the value of eating nutritious  clean and healthy fresh food and at the right time.

Concepts of eating, then and now has drastically changed. People are ready to eat convenience foods.at the touch of a button. Many want food delivered without the hassles of preparation.

No one has interest in conversations much. With a food of their choice delivered to them wherever they are, and a mobile phone in their hands convenience has reached a new high.

Family dinners were a place where all used to connect with  each other … Now they are quieter affairs with every one glued to their phones and television.

In fact the concept of eating together is slowly vanishing. Most people eat watching  a movie on Netflix  or a sport on television.

Today life moves at a much faster  pace where time is a precious commodity.
Changing times calls for major alterations  and adjustments  in lifestyle  choices.

In knowing  to strike a mid point  where both the palate and the plate gets a healthy makeover says much about the necessity for change in today’s times.

True happiness is an inside job and what is felt within reflects on the outside.

So what is important is that one develops and sustaining a good relationship  with food in life, rather than abusing the body with too much or too less of it.

For it is after all a matter of food and food matters much.

Gift of intuition

Grateful to intuit.
For the answers tumble through you
The path breaks through in the trusting
Until the way becomes you.

A sense of intuition is a gift
We all have it within us
Sometimes it propels you to it gently.
At other times it compels you to conform.

A substantial force in subtlety of being.
It is our spirit guide that moves with us
Follows through in ways we cannot  fathom
In a knowing (in the gut) of wisdom across lifelines beyond lifetimes.

What matters most is our tuning inward To our well of wisdom in the listening.
Thankful for the master guide within.
In deep gratitude  for this gift in the journey of life.

A Connected Life

This year I celebrate my five years of being and serving as a Member of International Dance Council UNESCO

Sharing a note I wrote 5 years ago…

Honoured to be nominated as an official Member of the International Council of Dance UNESCO. It’s the official umbrella organization for all forms of dance in all countries of the world. Its members are the most prominent federations, associations, schools, companies and individuals in over170 countries.

Have to certainly add that back in the 1960’s it was a visiting delegation from UN that had come to India who had got my dear father interested in learning these International Dances and later on teaching these dances as a hobby and now after all these years as his daughter, to have been certified by CID UNESCO I am touched indeed to say the least.

Thank you Dad for sharing with me this Magic of Dance. I am truly grateful that our simple dream of sharing the joy of Dancing by not only training people to dance but also specialising in applications of dance in holistic wellbeing through Dance Concepts, has been nominated to join UNESCO CID.

It surely connects the dots into a beautiful circle.

The prospect of working under the guidance of this phenomenal institution gives one unbelievable new strengths.

Learning to dance is indeed a ‘labour of love’ and I cherish every moment. How privileged we are to share this indescribable ‘magic of dance.’

Hoping to take the art of Dance to empower more and more people to sense and love the beauty of every movement in the moments called Life.

Age No Bar

To dance is to get in touch  with yourself.

To dance is to express yout own sense of rhythm.

To dance is to move from all of your heart.

To dance is to connect  with the inner child within.

To dance is so much more than the moves you do, it is to tune into your own being.

To dance is to  explore and express the connect you feel within you.

Socrates learned to dance when he was seventy because he felt that an essential part of himself had been neglected.

Age is no bar to learn to dance !
