“We human beings are tuned such that we crave great melody and great lyrics. And if somebody writes a great song, it’s timeless that we as humans are going to feel something for that and there’s going to be a real appreciation.” -Art Garunkel
What is great music to you?
Is it the song how it sounds to you ?
Do you pay attention to the lyrics?
Sometimes great lyrics alone don’t make a great song,
And often great song has hardly any depth to its lyrics
So what are your favorite or evergreensongs the ones you listen to always?
“She sat at the back and they said she was shy, She led from the front and they hated her pride, They asked her advice and then questioned her guidance, They branded her loud, then were shocked by her silence, When she shared no ambition they said it was sad, So she told them her dreams and they said she was mad, They told her they’d listen, then covered their ears, And gave her a hug while they laughed at her fears, And she listened to all of it thinking she should, Be the girl they told her to be best as she could, But one day she asked what was best for herself, Instead of trying to please everyone else, So she walked to the forest and stood with the trees, She heard the wind whisper and dance with the leaves, She spoke to the willow, the elm and the pine, And she told them what she’d been told time after time, She told them she felt she was never enough, She was either too little or far far too much, Too loud or too quiet, too fierce or too weak, Too wise or too foolish, too bold or too meek, Then she found a small clearing surrounded by firs, And she stopped…and she heard what the trees said to her, And she sat there for hours not wanting to leave, For the forest said nothing, it just let her breathe”
A little bit of freetime and a mobile phone art app in your hand can make the moments come alive…
I started to paint the screen with all my favorite colors… but then somehow somewhere in between I sensed a face pop and I continued to sketch away at leisure and found a face staring righton .
Now the face was somewhat serious and I just could not gel with that, as the moment was anything but that, so I just had to play with my fingers on the screen just a bit and lo and behold that face was more appealing to me now.
It’s a work in progress…Yes I could have gone on refining this piece, there is a lot of room for it, but somewhere I just stopped adding more to it ,perhaps I might pick it up in posterity and paint some more.
P.s Must mention I used no stylus, just my fingers for this one. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this piece of art.
Today in this moment Are you ready To partner with peace Do you have the power Of a grateful heart That knows to live light And waltz in harmony with life!
“Realizing the many miracles of life is also in knowing love that can move the soul of our being. We can consider ourselves lucky to even have been touched by a love like that!”
Throwback to last week when I recorded a demo and forgot about it
Shown here is one of the riskiest parts of the process — removing myself from the fragile balance without disturbing it.
In order to balance something like this, I usually need to basically wrap my body around it while sitting and building.. using knees to hug / stabilize the lower section(s) like a scaffold. But once I find zero, I need to remove my body without causing the structure to collapse.. on my body.. it’s when I’m most vulnerable.
But as seen here, I keep my gaze firmly on the structure while maneuvering my body away. It’s like a weird hyper focus where I’m spatially entranced on the relative positions of the rocks, and if any data point deviates from the whole, I have maybe a second to react before it becomes dangerous, especially for my left hand here which is planted on the stump I was sitting on, hoisting my body away.. if that top decides to fall on that hand, bones would likely break… not a situation where I can afford to break focus.
Some self removals are easier than others — it really just depends on a firm hold for my right hand behind me, the sensitivity of the structure itself, and what the wind is doing..
“I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I will be able to recognise you and thank you once again.”
When Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola in a telephone interview, was asked by the radio presenter, “Sir what can you remember made you a happiest man in life?”
Femi said: “I have gone through four stages of happiness in life and finally I understood the meaning of true happiness.”
The first stage was to accumulate wealth and means. But at this stage I did not get the happiness I wanted.
Then came the second stage of collecting valuables and items. But I realised that the effect of this thing is also temporary and the lustre of valuable things does not last long.
Then came the third stage of getting big projects. That was when I was holding 95% of diesel supply in Nigeria and Africa. I was also the largest vessel owner in Africa and Asia. But even here I did not get the happiness I had imagined.
The fourth stage was the time a friend of mine asked me to buy wheelchair for some disabled children. Just about 200 kids.
At the friend’s request, I immediately bought the wheelchairs.
But the friend insisted that I go with him and hand over the wheelchairs to the children. I got ready and went with him.
There I gave these wheel chairs to these children with my own hands. I saw the strange glow of happiness on the faces of these children. I saw them all sitting on the wheelchairs, moving around and having fun.
It was as if they had arrived at a picnic spot where they are sharing a jackpot winning.
I felt REAL joy inside me. When I decided to leave one of the kids grabbed my legs. I tried to free my legs gently but the child stared at my face and held my legs tightly.
I bent down and asked the child: Do you need something else?
The answer this child gave me not only made me happy but also changed my attitude to life completely. This child said: “I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I will be able to recognise you and thank you once again.”
What would you be remembered for after you leave that office or place?
Will anyone desire to see your face again where it all matters?
How about trying to touch lives and make a positive difference in our own individual ways?.

The Antwerpen Christmas Market is spread out over several streets and squares lighting up the entire historical centre of Antwerp beautifully into a huge and happening zone to stroll around in…
Glowing in the night! Beating the winters chill Sitting by warm fire pits… Sipping hot glühwein!
And the mistletoe? Well its no small branch But a giant one indeed! Fit for all the crowd that gather under Just to share their love for each other….💞
Irony of cognition As long as our beliefs are taking us through We are comfortable But if our beliefs, blur our vision We are confounded We become guarded And want to protect our opinions Even if they are erring In fact we are most hostile When we are aware deep within How wrong we actually are !
Rather than allowing ourselves to evolve We step in our own way of growth Becoming mental contortionists Twisting and turning With the assumptions & notions of truth Until we find an angle that upholds Our current views.
Our beliefs can be our strength as much as our weaknesses. In allowing ourselves to accept something new or different to what we are used to or expect, we begin to open up our minds and hearts.
Think about your own beliefs, are there moments where you were challenged by your own beliefs,
Were there times when you feel that some of your own beliefs need a thinkover?
Often we assume we are totally in the know and believe it to be so like a frog in the well.
Yet the truth shows up differently from these illusions we live in, and then we realize how far away from the truth we actually are!
