Live Life Lovingly!

Simple truth.

There was a question asked to Ramana Maharishi
Question: What is the best way to treat others?
Ramana: There are no others.

This is the simple truth of life and living well.

If only we can see how we are but reflections of one another then a lot of discrimination will stop right then and there.

Discrimination is the root of conflict.

To think one life as above or below another creates inequalities in mutual treatment and socialization.

Remember to practice non discrimination in life and living.

Help Sustain the World

A few facts and figures

Recycling Plastic

Do you know that

1 ton of plastic trash can save 5774 kWh of electricity, 3114 litres of oil, and 3000 litres of water!! Plastic recycling has the potential of unthinkable benefits.

Just don’t throw your used plastic bottles away – causing environmental pollution!

Reducing water wastage

  • Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth. …
  • Turn off the tap while washing your hands. …
  • Fix your leaking taps. …
  • Water
  • Head to the car wash.

Reuse

One example of conventional reuse is the doorstep delivery of milk in reuseable bottles; other examples include the retreading of tires and the use of returnable/reusable plastic boxes, shipping containers, instead of single-use corrugated fiberboard boxes.

Here is a very relevant and simple test to check your environmental awareness and learn about how we go green…

Realms of the heart

Beyond words… are the realms of the heart!

Our cellular awareness is trained to transmit messages through feelings that convey where words fail. It is embedded within our conscious awareness to guide us from inside out. Many of our beliefs in trust, faith and hope are powered in and from this core of our consciousness.

In this understanding is the reason for the purpose of why we do what we do, why we feel the way we feel, have an instinctual sensation of the direction of where a path leads to. In the confluence of creativity in connection & compassion, there is confidence emanating through our deeds.

When we lead from here, many of our so-called equations held through by analysis often fail to make much sense.

When we follow in faith we move in synchrony with ourselves as we are not just in a flow, we are the flow.

Writing : A healing practice

WordPress says I have crossed 400 days of continuous writing and publishing now.

And it is a great motivation personally to me. As sometimes a few words are hard to come by and then there are times when a river of words flow…

There is so much learning in simply putting thoughts down in a structure.

In the way, they flow

In the way they arrange themselves

From our thoughts to the words

The choices of perspectives

As they appear and form

To convey what we want to say.

As I continued to write

Early every morning

I found myself creating a space for me

A time that stands still

In the silence of thoughts

And in the dance of reflections.

This time has been a dedication

For the writer in me

In unravelling and understanding

The power of love for writing

And the potential of possibilities

In patience and perseverance.

And coming away with the realization

That to write a few words every day

Whether in a poem or prose

Is truly a beautiful healing

For our mind heart and body.

Creating anything takes energy

And in expression is a release.

In contentment and intention.

In gratitude for the inspirations.

And ever grateful for the support

Extended here by my readers

And a special mention

Goes to the WordPress family

Whose encouraging likes & responses

Paved this journey of words.

Thank you🙏

Living Books

Every life is uniquely endowed with perspectives and experiences.
A living book is a human who shares his life’s stories and wisdom with willingness with another interested individual.

If the conversation is interesting the living book is read some more but if it does not meet the requirements of the individual reader, he is free to get up and find another living book to meet and connect.

Living books library concept is an interesting way to bring together learnings from life experiences directly on a one to one basis and a group setting. The conversation depends on what you want to understand and turn it towards.

Life teaches us much and every human can benefit from unedited direct soul to soulful connects where words flow at the moment.
In such connection is the transparency of truth that is glaringly stark from a book of prewritten words arranged in a format predesigned to sell in the market.

Life is so much than being a business.
In these discussions, the reader or the learner and the living book are both free to direct the course of the conversation without constraints.

Unlike a regular library of books, the human library is a gathering of humans and is event-based.

There are many functioning human book libraries all around the world today.

The concept began in  Copenhagen Denmark in 2000. The idea is to be nonjudgemental and engage in a dialogue that helps break barriers and social prejudices. The human book could be anyone who has a story to tell and is ready to share it. Or someone who has gone through any kind of discrimination and wants to share their experiences openly.
So next time you want to explore the idea of reading a book, consider and lookout for opportunities to connect with a human book!

Path to Paradise

Is there any doubt

Of another heaven

When life brings forth

Paradise closer home.

Do we still need

To clamour for heaven

When heaven is strewn

All around ourselves.

The path of paradise

Is strewn with wisdom

Of life and living.

Truth of nature abounds .

Seeing the beautiful picture of the enchanting wooded pathway strewn with bounties of nature, compels me to appreciate and value the beauty of life and living more than ever before.

Follow your heart

The cells of our body
Are listening
With rapt attention.

Ever ready to alter and adapt
They dance to defy
As much as to align.

Our heart hears the vibrations
Of what we truly are
As it tunes to the rhythm of the being.

Heart beats to it’s own tunes.
In the beating of the heart
Is hidden the truth of living.

Just follow along
The path of the heart
It knows the way!

Finding a friend…

Do you work yourself too hard, Searching for a friend
Fear not, for there are many sailing in the same boat.
Finding a friend in another
Is seeing a mutual joy of being
With one another whatever the interest
In seeing not necessarily eye to eye
But sensing the heart to heart in life and living.

Blessed are you to receive a true friendship
And the onus is on you to truly appreciate it.
For no matter the years, friendship never die
If there is value for the friendship

Treasure the blessing of a good friend.
Nurture the relationship the best you can.
Have spaces in your togetherness
So that you gather life experiences to muse upon.

A good friend listens and speaks from the heart and mind.
A true friendship is often blatant to the point of being brutally honest.
All for the sake of evolving for the better
And such are the friendships that withstand the test of time.

Finding friends is wonderful

But staying friends makes all the difference.

On Giving

Giving is the movement where the heart speaks without hesitation and in the flow through deeds and words. There is a moment of a decision before the giving and it is in that moment that life can be propelled to evolve along with the patterns of thought.

There is a lot of lovely words focused on Giving and most are essentially on the ‘Give before the Take.’

However, I also have something to share here …Every giving may have its own reasons…

Some may be in an instinctive reaction like warming up of the heart due to mutual understanding either being in the wavelength of resonance at that moment.

Or it may be because it is in goodwill as you genuinely care to show your appreciation.

Another would be because of your own good nature where you cannot leave without a positive act of appreciation in response…. there may be so many million and more reasons for giving which is wonderful for the world at large.

Now the reasons for not giving may be personal and unique as well.

Like for instance when you feel you are being used for a purpose that is self-serving.

Often there is a certain energy, in the very act of giving and that is what leaves an imprint on us and decides our future course of action.

Like at times a particular person’s energy may overwhelm and exhaust you or may be too much to handle that giving more thought or attention to it would feel counterproductive.

Like when you feel stressed and overburdened in the complexities of life and living that you simply may have overlooked the fact that the giving action is truly way beyond the gift itself.

Like when you fail to understand the reasons for giving or think the giver has ulterior motives for that matter…you may just appreciate it out of politeness but steer clear of receiving further as its truly not in your best interest to receive such a gift. But whatever it is, Giving nurtures and nourishes the soul of both the giver and the receiver when the intention is positive.

Go Give More of Yourself

Cos You come from Abundance

Receive with thankfulness

For that fills your own being with Grace.

An Affirmation For One & All!

I come from light
Born with the infinite in me
Learning through it all
To move from deepest insecurities to dare
To rise like a phoenix beyond fear.

To see the world in a heartbeat
To turn the tide of pain to pleasure
To awaken the dormant awareness
To hope beyond despair
To give hope to the hopeless.

And when the mood strikes
To take flights of fancy in the light of imagination
Into the world of creativity and dream on
In surrealistic idealism.

To revel, celebrate and enthuse
In the creativity of thoughts words & deeds
To be conscious of my glorious truths
To feel free and yet deeply interwoven

To the fabric of conscious intentions
To denote the goodwill in the endowment
To mark the fleeting time with grace.

To leave footprints in benevolence.
In joyous acceptance of the potential within
Of endless beginning in possibilities
Of Infinity expressing itself through me.

Stillness within

Stillness within
The whirling wisdom
Centers within
The search for being
In a knowing balance
Of within and without.

The gaze is never a stare
The moves are never a dare
In fact the flow is sublime
One leads unto another
Nothing marked nothing missed
Nothing focused nothing lost.

In such a state of flow
Where wholeness of being
Is the strength of a circle
That creates unto itself
There is a knowing
Of a space within

An inward glance
Into the souls calling
Springing forth
The sounds of Silence.

The Magic Circle

In continuation to my earlier post

A hug is a magic circle

Here are some very interesting facts.

The average length of a hug between two people is 3 seconds. But the researchers have discovered something fantastic. When a hug lasts 20 seconds, there is a therapeutic effect on the body and mind. The reason is that a sincere embrace produces a hormone called “oxytocin”, also known as the love hormone. This substance has many benefits in our physical and mental health, helps us, among other things, to relax, to feel safe and calm our fears and anxiety. This wonderful tranquilizer is offered free of charge every time we have a person in our arms, who cradled a child, who cherish a dog or a cat, that we are dancing with our partner, the closer we get to someone or simply hold the Shoulders of a friend.

A famous quote by psychotherapist Virginia Satir goes, “We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.”

Whether those exact numbers have been scientifically proven remains to be seen, but there is a great deal of scientific evidence related to the importance of hugs and physical contact. Here are some reasons why we should hug::

1. STIMULATES OXYTOCIN

Oxytocin is a neurotransmitter that acts on the limbic system, the brain’s emotional centre, promoting feelings of contentment, reducing anxiety and stress, and even making mammals monogamous. It is the hormone responsible for us all being here today. You see this little gem is released during childbirth, making our mothers forget about all of the excruciating pain they endured expelling us from their bodies and making them want to still love and spend time with us. New research from the University of California suggests that it has a similarly civilising effect on human males, making them more affectionate and better at forming relationships and social bonding. When we hug someone, oxytocin is released into our bodies by our pituitary gland, lowering both our heart rates and our cortisol levels. Cortisol is the hormone responsible for stress, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

2. CULTIVATES PATIENCE

Connections are fostered when people take the time to appreciate and acknowledge one another. A hug is one of the easiest ways to show appreciation and acknowledgement of another person. The world is a busy, hustle-bustle place and we’re constantly rushing to the next task. By slowing down and taking a moment to offer sincere hugs throughout the day, we’re benefiting ourselves, others, and cultivating better patience within ourselves.

3. PREVENTS DISEASE

Affection also has a direct response on the reduction of stress which prevents many diseases. The Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine says it has carried out more than 100 studies into touch and found evidence of significant effects, including faster growth in premature babies, reduced pain, decreased autoimmune disease symptoms, lowered glucose levels in children with diabetes, and improved immune systems in people with cancer.

4. STIMULATES THYMUS GLAND

Hugs strengthen the immune system. The gentle pressure on the sternum and the emotional charge this creates activates the Solar Plexus Chakra. This stimulates the thymus gland, which regulates and balances the body’s production of white blood cells, which keep you healthy and disease free.

5. COMMUNICATION WITHOUT SAYING A WORD

Almost 70 percent of communication is nonverbal. The interpretation of body language can be based on a single gesture and hugging is an excellent method of expressing yourself nonverbally to another human being or animal. Not only can they feel the love and care in your embrace, but they can actually be receptive enough to pay it forward to others based on your initiative alone.

6. SELF-ESTEEM

Hugging boosts self-esteem, especially in children. The tactile sense is all-important in infants. A baby recognizes its parents initially by touch. From the time we’re born our family’s touch shows us that we’re loved and special. The associations of self-worth and tactile sensations from our early years are still imbedded in our nervous system as adults. The cuddles we received from our Mom and Dad while growing up remain imprinted at a cellular level, and hugs remind us at a somatic level of that. Hugs, therefore, connect us to our ability to self love.

7. STIMULATES DOPAMINE

Everything everyone does involves protecting and triggering dopamine flow. Low dopamine levels play a role in the neurodegenerative disease Parkinson’s as well as mood disorders such as depression. Dopamine is responsible for giving us that feel-good feeling, and it’s also responsible for motivation! Hugs stimulate brains to release dopamine, the pleasure hormone. Dopamine sensors are the areas that many stimulating drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamine target. The presence of a certain kinds of dopamine receptors are also associated with sensation-seeking.

8. STIMULATES SEROTONIN

Reaching out and hugging releases endorphins and serotonin into the blood vessels and the released endorphins and serotonin cause pleasure and negate pain and sadness and decrease the chances of getting heart problems, helps fight excess weight and prolongs life. Even the cuddling of pets has a soothing effect that reduces the stress levels. Hugging for an extended time lifts one’s serotonin levels, elevating mood and creating happiness.

9. PARASYMPATHETIC BALANCE

Hugs balance out the nervous system. The skin contains a network of tiny, egg-shaped pressure centres called Pacinian corpuscles that can sense touch and which are in contact with the brain through the vagus nerve. The galvanic skin response of someone receiving and giving a hug shows a change in skin conductance. The effect in moisture and electricity in the skin suggests a more balanced state in the nervous system – parasympathetic.

Quite a bit of indepth information on the healing powers in a simple hug.

Such is the magic in a warm embrace

Embrace, embrace with your heart.

When you are hugging a child, always be the last one to let go. You never know how long they need it. ~Author Unknown
