The Isha Upanishad (ईशोपनिषद्, ‘īśopaniṣad’) is one of the shortest of the Upanishads, in form more like a brief poem than a philosophical treatise, consisting of 17 or 18 verses in total. The Upanishad constitutes the final chapter (adhyāya) of the Shukla Yajurveda and survives in two versions, called Kanva (VSK) and Madhyandina (VSM).
The Isha Upanishad is significant for its description of the nature of the “Supreme Being”, exhibiting monism or a form of monotheism, referred to as Isha “Lord”. It describes this being as “unembodied, omniscient, beyond reproach, without veins, pure and uncontaminated” (verse 8), one who “moves and does not move’, who is ‘far away, but very near as well'” and who “although fixed in abode is swifter than the mind” (verses 4 & 5).
The first verse of the text has been cited as of particular importance to Vedanta or to Hinduism as a whole.
Love boomerangs It is the very nature of love. For love generates more love In the sharing is creating In the creation is the spreading Of this heartfelt expansion called love.
Love is meant to flow For life to be sustained. Love flows its course In its own time. Such is the power of love Love when channeled In goodwill transforms the world.
In this love, life is lived In this love writers write Dancers dance, artists create Poetry flows, Singers sing All in the resonance of love.
Love envelopes the whole spirit Without fear or favor For love boomerangs Such is nature of love. Sweet Love!💙💜💙
Impermanent Manifestation
The beauty of life
Is in its vulnerability
As much as its resiliency
Take a tender blooming flower
It is fragile and delicate
But it expresses itself
With all its abilities.
It surely must be sensing
The morning’s vigour & vitality
The oppression of the afternoon sun
And the looming darkness of the night.
Yet it cares not that it’s time is limited
Or when the evening shadows befall
Its purpose is fulfilling for the world to see!
Such is the beauty of impermanency.
The Way of the Universe is Abundance It is the way of nature. We come from it and we are nature. Our deepest intentions Find its way to fulfillment in time.
What is important is trustfulness In faith of the flow In belief and hope For as you ensivision The truth manifests itself.
Stay patient Trust life To unravel itself And deliver in time.
Once a Crow, holding on to a piece of meat was flying to a place to sit & eat peacefully…
However, a flock of Eagles who were flying nearby started chasing it. The crow became scared & anxious. It started flying higher and higher, yet the much stronger eagles were after the poor crow.
Just then “Garuda” saw the plight and pain in the eyes of the crow. Coming closer to the crow, he asked:
“What’s wrong, dear? You seem to be very “disturbed” and in terrible “stress”?”..
The crow cried “Look at these eagles!! They are after me – to kill me”.
Garuda being the bird of wisdom spoke “Oh my friend!! They are not after you to kill you!! In fact, they are after that piece of meat that you are holding tightly in your beak”. Just drop it and see what happens.
The crow followed the advice of Garuda and dropped the piece of meat, and lo & behold..
All the eagles in a mad rush flew towards the falling meat.
Garuda smiled and said “The Pain is only till you hold on to it” Just Drop” it & release the “Pain”..
The crow just bowed and said “Thank You for your wise advice.. I dropped this piece of meat & now, I can fly even higher without tension..”
*There is a message in this story for all of us :*
1. People carry the huge burden called “Ego,” which creates a false identity about oneself, like – ” I am so & so, I should be loved, I need to be respected, I need to be invited.. etc… ..
_Just Drop_ – this silly “Ego” & assumption about yourself & see what happens..
2. People get irritated instantly by “others actions or words” .. It could be anyone – friend, parents, children, colleagues, spouse etc….. and instantly the sparks of Anger get ignited & one starts fuming ..
_Just Drop…._ this senseless “negative feeling” & see what happens..
3. People compare themselves with others.. in beauty, wealth, life style, marks, talent and appraisals and get disturbed & insecure…
forgetting the fact that We must be grateful with what we have … ..”
_Just Drop_…- these silly comparisons, negative emotions & see what happens..
Some people are attached in a negative way to their jobs, their material possessions, their dear ones..which creates more harm than good..
_Just Drop_..detach yourself.. drop the burden of attachment & see what happens..
Probably, that’s the reason why in temples ash (vibuthi) is given to devotees – To constantly remind us.. we are nothing but dust.
*_We have risen from the Dust & unto Dust we shall return.._*
Every person we meet has a story to tell In there is an understanding that one life is not more important than the other. Every life has a reason to be. Life is unique in the way it unfolds We may never know what the next moment entails The questions that arise in the living Are meant to ignite a thought for a reason..
A few lines I wrote on nature perhaps can be mentioned here in this context as well. Nature has many learnings for us to imbibe When mountains form it creates its valleys too Sometimes higher the mountains the deeper its valleys and What we see from the top of the mountain and what we see from the valley may differ Both perspectives may exist in the course of life and living It all depends on where one is moving in the journey of life Sometimes we find ourselves in depths of despair And at times in the pinnacle of pleasure. Both are transient as change is the only constant. To acknowledge it and move on is hardest to do For even though we may forgive how can we forget But the sooner we reckon that life cannot stand still The faster the recovery, for much is in the awareness… Love and hate exists side by side Fear and freedom are in the same moment Courage comes as a saviour In the deepest of suffering. To every question that life throws up in the living Every Life has its own answers to find in the living. The trick is in trusting life to give the answers one seeks in its own way. In between what we choose to let go And what we choose to hold on We create our own life in the living.
Life is born
Thoughts arise
Creativity spurts
Dreams envisioned
Passions pursued
In hope of dawn.
Yet night falls
Beween the dawns
Some dreams shatter
In the darkness unknown
While some see
The light of day!
And Life is bettered
Such is the circle of life
Flowing in a rhythm
Of its own making!
Every Life chalks it’s path in time
Arrives its meaning for itself
The journey is unparalleled
And uniquely carved.
Such is the very nature of life
And at every moment
One can’t help
But wonder…
Such is the wonder of life!
