Walk for Wellness

▪️

Informative share

Interestingly , 50% of a person’s bones & 50% of the muscles, are in the two legs.
Do walk

▪️The largest & strongest joints & bones of the human body are also in the legs.
3-7k steps / day

▪️Strong bones, strong muscles and flexible joints form the Iron Triangle that carries the most important load i.e. the human body.”

▪️70% of human activity and burning of energy in one’s life is done by the two feet.

▪️Do you know this ? When a person is young, his/ her thighs have enough strength , to lift a small car of 800 kg !

▪️The foot is the center of body locomotion.

▪️Both the legs together have 50% of the nerves of the human body, 50% of the blood vessels and 50% of the blood is flowing through them.

▪️ It is the largest circulatory network that connects the body.
So walk daily.

▪️Only when the feet are healthy then the convention current of blood flows , smoothly, so people who have strong leg muscles will definitely have a strong heart. Walk.

▪️Aging starts from the feet upwards

▪️As a person gets older, the accuracy & speed of transmission of instructions between the brain and the legs decreases, unlike when a person is young. Please walk

▪️In addition, the so-called Bone Fertilizer Calcium will sooner or later be lost with the passage of time, making the elderly more prone to bone fractures. WALK.

▪️Bone fractures in the elderly can easily trigger a series of complications, especially fatal diseases such as brain thrombosis.

▪️Do you know that 15% of elderly patients generally, will die max. within a year of a thigh-bone fracture !! Walk daily without fail

▪️ Exercising the legs, is never too late, even after the age of 60 years.

▪️Although our feet/legs will gradually age with time, exercising our feet/ legs is a life-long task.
Walk 3000-7000 steps

▪️Only by regular strengthening the legs, one can prevent or reduce further aging. Walk 365 days

▪️ Please walk for at least 30-40 minutes daily to ensure that your legs receive sufficient exercise and to ensure that your leg muscles remain healthy.

Do share this valuable information with all your friends & family members, as everyone is ageing on a daily basis…

Fused bulbs

An interesting share

All Fused Bulbs are the Same !
A senior executive retired and shifted from his palatial official quarters to the housing society, where he owned a flat.
He considered himself big and never talked to anyone.
Even while walking in the society park every evening, he ignored others, looking at them with contempt.
One day, it somehow transpired that an elderly person sitting beside him started a conversation, and they continued to meet.
Every conversation was mostly a monologue with the retired executive harping on his pet topic,
Nobody can imagine the big post and high position I held before retirement;
I came here due to compulsions”; and so on, and the other elderly person used to listen to him quietly.
After many days, when the retired executive was inquisitive about others, the elderly listener opened his mouth and said,
After retirement, we are all like fused bulbs.
It does not matter what a bulb’s wattage was, how much light or glitter it gave, after it gets fused.
He continued, “I have been living in this society for the last 5 years and have not told anyone that I was a Member of the Parliament for two terms.
On your right, over there is Vermaji, who retired as General Manager in Indian Railways.
Over there is Singh Saheb, who was a Major General in the Army.
That person sitting on the bench in spotless white dress is Mehraji, who was the chief of ISRO before retirement.
He hasn’t revealed it to anyone, not even to me, but I know.”
All fused bulbs are now the same – whatever its wattage was – 0, 10, 40, 60, 100 watts – it doesn’t matter now.
Neither does it matter what type of bulb it was before it got fused – LED, CFL, Halogen, Incandescent, fluorescent, or decorative.
And that, my friend, applies to you too.
The day you understand this, you will find peace and tranquillity even in this housing society.
The rising sun as well as the setting sun are both beautiful and adorable.
But, in reality, the rising sun gets more importance and adoration, and is even worshipped , whereas the setting sun is not given the same reverence.
It is better to understand this sooner than later.
Our current designation, title and power are not permanent.
Keeping lot of emotions with these things only complicate our life when we lose this one day.
Remember that when the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
Enjoy what you have today . Have a fabulous time ahead….

On Practice

Does practise makes it perfect?

Practice is to engage and rehearse repeatedly in order to perfect a skill to mastery , but not all who practice acheive the level of an expert even with structured and deliberate practice standards in place . So we can safely say practice makes one better gradually.

A consistent practice of any talent or skill will begin to show results for sure. It could be tangible jump or it could be a little step according to the amount to time, focus and energy given to practice. In time the results could be exponential in its rewards as well.

Practice can be truly rewarding and a great source of confidence. But practice needs not only consistency but also determination in perseverance.

A few tips to improve and implement a practice routine..

Be ready to self reflect so as understand why you are motivated to continue practicing.

Be willing to develop the learners mindset and maintain it.

Be mindful of your behavioral changes as you improve and work on it positively to sustain you.

Be engaged proactively to adjust your practice levels as per requirement.

Be focused to set short and long term goals and work on achieving them.

Most of all…

Continuity of practice is important after achieving a set goal…

Keep your practice going!

On Engagement

Engagement is an involvement

It involves committment.

Engagement is an action

It involves doing, a deed

Engagement  is a focused interest

To do whatever is possible.

Engagement can be a moral obligation.

What are your daily engagements?

What keeps you engaged in them?

On Painting

To me…

Painting is an iterative journey
Full of surprises in the flow
Something to stumble upon
To follow on & find meaning.

In letting go of the control
You begin to see the guidance
Forming in the impressions
Sometimes subtle or strong

As the brush moves on canvas
Leaving imprints of colours
Patterning itself in a narrative
Creating a purpose for itself.

Painting is a tool in trusting
In faith, in the discovery
Shaping itself through you
Bridging beyond in the now.

Love

Love heals like no other

A good measure of love

Is the best antidote

To the grieving heart

True love is accommodating

Without force & compulsion

It’s ever-expansive and inclusive

Love spreads messages of hope

Kindles goodwill in aching hearts

Age no matter love springs forth enthusiasm for life and living

Such is the power of love!

Prep Matters

According to Psychologists, there are four types of Intelligence:

1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)
3) Social Quotient (SQ)
4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)

  1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ): this is the measure of your level of comprehension. You need IQ to solve maths, memorize things, and recall lessons.
  2. Emotional Quotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others, keep to time, be responsible, be honest, respect boundaries, be humble, genuine and considerate.
  3. Social Quotient (SQ): this is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with a high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize on improving IQ levels while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your Character, while your SQ represents your Charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs, especially your EQ and SQ.

Now there is a 4th one, a new paradigm:

  1. The Adversity Quotient (AQ): The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life, and come out of it without losing your mind.

When faced with troubles, AQ determines who will give up, who will abandon their family, and who will consider suicide.

Parents please expose your children to other areas of life than just Academics. They should adore manual labour (never use work as a form of punishment), Sports and Arts.

Develop their IQ, as well as their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of their parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for your children. Prepare your children for the road.”

Poets & Planning

My friend Ali Anani from Jordan proposed an interesting question last evening.

“As a poet dear Savvy I just wonder how much do you trust planning?”

Here are my musings…

Poets and Planning

A poet has a lot of structuring to do…
The poet steps out of the box
Knowing only too well that thoughts needs to align in time.
Without trust in the divine plan there is no way the poet can create.
And without a plan that visualizes the bigger picture as much as the little details, the verse will not make sense.
So poets and planning have much to do in trustfulness.

Now speaking personally,
Spontaneity seems to surge
In the throes of a thought wave.
Yet much is happens in following the flow.
Synergies are sensed
In the amalgamation and associations.
Of thoughts into verses.

As words then fill the void spaces
Making meaning out of matter.
Spontaneity too then is preordained in the divine plan
And poets are simply messengers
Enriching thoughts in a meter of sorts.
To make the ordinary words come alive!

On Kindness

If only we could realize how valuable it is to be appreciated and supported .

If we could only know how important it is to feel inclusive in our diverse ways.

We must understand that love and kindness is the only way besides adopting a non-judgmental approach.

We must realise how vulnerable life is, but beyond feeling victimized and create further suffering due to negative thoughts

We need to respond with empathy, show unity through kindness and compassionate deeds.

The power of kindness is truly infinite.
KINDNESS IS THE PRAYER IN ACTION.
