Gratitude makes us recognize and value things we already have even more. That is how it brings a sense of abundance.
Every day a practice of gratitude could include a variety of things that may feel right to you. From seeing the positives in a situation or in people, focusing on the good in life journaling regularly and being thankful, etc
A practice of living life with a positive attitude makes life more meaningful.
Give gratitude freely without holding back.
Thank you dear reader, Truly grateful for your time. Pls consider sharing this message of giving gratitude in this now.
Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does. ~Margaret Atwood
Loved reading this quote share on water. Being able to imbibe the nature of water speaks much of the person you are.
To be like water as Bruce Lee famously suggested, calls for flexibility, adaptability, persistence and most importantly humility.
Water is soft yet powerful in its ways. Overcoming rigidity with gentleness of yielding in the flow.
To be able to take on the mightiest rocks of resistance with the power of persistence in the flow.
And yet be able to take shape and mold along the vagaries of existence.
Water never competes for it is secure and complete in itself.
Giving in the flowing through Strengthened in the harmony of the very flow.
Water is what water does. Such is the way of water.
These words above are deeply interlinked in the flow of thoughts that arose after I read a translation by my mother from a Tamil quote forwarded on Social media.
Interesting to note it is from a divorced husband after 10 years of realization.
‘Don’t show your pride before your wife. She came to you just believing in you Not your relatives.
My property My earnings My will Then who is she? What is the meaning of her life with you?
Can’t she have her dreams, her desires, to be fulfilled with you?
The person who tries to live alone will not succeed as a human being. His heart withers if it does not answer another heart. His mind shrinks away if he hears only the echoes of his own thoughts and finds no other inspiration. Pearl S. Buck
Nurture life nurture living Care for one another Each of us need one another For we are not meant to be alone We are meant to live and love In this life we have. This world is meant to coexist.
If each of us take a step To reach out as humans To nurture life and living In love & compassion In empathy & care To be humane and inclusive As simple as checking With those closest to you. Asking them a single question Are you OK? And truly listen. Our actions can be transformative Sending a message of care. Making the world around us A whole lot better.
If you find someone lonely Reach out with this message In hope and trust in care.
The human heart is continually operating as a muscular pump, contracting on average 80 times per minute to propel 9 tons of blood through body tissues each day.
We are on track Nurturing humanity In every moment Through connections Through art & creativity To journey into the beyond From nothing to something To transcend beyond the mundane Of notions and assumptions To envision in empowering ways Beyond rational thinking To rediscover aesthetics of truth.
When you look at other people through a lens of compassion and understanding rather than judgment and jealousy, you are better able to see them for what they are—human beings.” ~ Unknown
The way we see the world Changes our experiences Lesser expectations Greater contentment Lesser assumptions & doubt Greater trustfulness Lesser hopelessness Greater possibility Lesser the complexity Greater the clarity.
The wall of the mind Is in each of us to forge through… In valuing the space between Two thoughts, two steps or two notes.
In choosing harmony of synchrony In conscious awareness In discerning thoughts & associations. In response than reaction In connecting the dots. In realizing the grace of unity.
All is in sensing the strength Of the circle of conscious connections.
Sharing a Tamil story translation by my mother Anjana.
I found this piece written by her today morning and shared as I felt many times we are ourselves in the way of our blessings. There is so much abundance, we are yet not ready to hear, take, care to see, that we miss partaking the joy of having them, often because our own ignorance, ego or lack of awareness comes in the way. All the abundance mean nothing if we are not ready to receive it.
Let’s be open ready to receive…
It was raining heavily. Grand mother was sitting in the verandah and her little granddaughter was playing nearby… So the grandmother told her granddaughter so much water is going waste,so keep a big vessel to fill clean water.
The girl who was playing refused to listen. So the grandmother noticed it and said sternly, Is just keeping the big vessel in the rain a big job? Go and keep it in the open. Grandma ordered. The girl went with half mind.
After some time when it stopped raining, Grandma got up to happily bring the vessel full of water. She was shocked to see ,not a drop of water was collected. The girl has kept the vessel upside down , just as it was kept inside!
Of course there was plenty of rain, but the vessel was not ready to collect a single drop.
Same like the Universe is filled with Divine blessings. But our hearts are not open to receive it. If we are ready with open heart the Cosmic Abundance will be in harmony with us.
Continuing in a series on Life and Living … The subject of Beauty brings to mind its paradox As mentioned in my last article I would like to reflect on this with my readers and fellow writers and work in collaboration towards a certain consensus if attainable .
Here is a beautiful reflection of the thoughts of this reader who starts by visualizing in the vebalisation of the beauty in the elemental awareness of nature and culminates her standpoint in the beauty of nurture…
Of a mother and child and the beauty in a loving heart.
Thank you to my dear mother Anjana for your exemplary examples. Rest assured I certainly will be reading these lines often.
“Anything that pleases the eye is beautiful..How much exquisite or breath-taking the physical beauty may be… it’s just skin deep. Beyond that all is same.
A wise soul has this awareness. Though the elements may be the same, their arrangement makes the difference. But there is beauty in the wilderness too.
The dancing flames of fire, the eruptive flowing and glowing lava of the volcono, the blowing sand making patterns on the sands of deserts, the mystery that lies in the underground caves, in the depths of the oceans, in the vast space that surround us , there is beauty in everything. A thing of beauty is a joy for ever.
Above all beauty has a connection with love in the heart. Even the so assumed ugliest child looks beautiful to it’s mother. After all beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Can anything be more beautiful than a compassionate and kind heart that sees goodness in all.”
The lines above have an sensitive emotive and reflective quality which is engagingly beautiful to me.
