Once Arjuna asked Krishna- Madhav.. What is this ‘successful life’?
Krishna took Arjuna to fly kites. Arjuna was watching Krishna carefully flying a kite.
After a while Arjuna said-
Madhav.. Because of this thread, the kite is not able to move freely and upwards, should we break it? It will go higher.
Krishna broke the thread..
The kite went up a little more and then came down after waving and fell at a distant unknown place…
Then Krishna explained the philosophy of life to Arjuna. Parth.. ‘The height we are at in life.. We often feel that certain things to which we are tied are preventing us from going higher; like : -House- -family- -Dicipline- -mother-father- -master-and- -Society-
And we want to be free from them…
In fact, these are the threads – which keep us at that height.
‘Without these threads we will go up once, but later we will have the same fate that happened to a kite without thread…’
“So, if you want to remain on the top in life, then never break your relationship with these threads.”
The height attained by successful balance of thread and kite-like attachment is called ‘successful life..”
Life and Living soulful stories share that come my way…
John D Rockfeller was once the richest man in the world. The first billionaire in the world. By age 25, he controlled one of the largest oil refineries in the US. By age 31, he had become the world’s largest oil refiner. By age 38, he commanded 90% of the oil refined in the U.S. By 50, he was the richest man in the country. As a young man, every decision, attitude, and relationship was tailored to create his personal power and wealth.
But at the age of 53, he became ill. His entire body became racked with pain and he lost all of his hair. In complete agony, the world’s only billionaire could buy anything he wanted, but he could only digest soup and crackers. An associate wrote, He could not sleep, would not smile and nothing in life meant anything to him. His personal, highly skilled physicians predicted he would die within a year. That year passed agonizingly slowly.
As he approached death he awoke one morning with the vague realisation of not being able to take any of his wealth with him into the next world. The man who could control the business world suddenly realized he was not in control of his own life. He was left with a choice.
He called his attorneys, accountants, and managers and announced that he wanted to channel his Assets to Hospitals, Research, and Charity work. John D. Rockefeller established his Foundation. This new direction eventually led to the discovery of penicillin, cures for malaria, tuberculosis and diphtheria. But perhaps the most amazing part of Rockefeller’s story is that the moment he began to give back a portion of all that he had earned, his body’s chemistry was altered so significantly that he got better. It looked as if he would die at 53 but he lived to be 98. Rockefeller learned gratitude and gave back the vast majority of his wealth. Doing so made him whole. It is one thing to be healed. It is another to be made whole.
Before his death, he wrote this in his dairy, “The Supreme Energy taught me, that everything belongs to Him and I am only a channel to comply his wishes. My life has been one long, happy holiday;Full of work and full of play I dropped the worry on the way and God was good to me every day.”
Whenever and wherever there is hope, faith and love… miracles happen. In living life’s every moment As if it’s a miracle in itself Either there is a miracle for you Waiting to happen Or you are the miracle for another Waiting to unfold Both are inspiration for one or the other For out of difficulties Miracles are born!
The way we feel has much to do with the way we think The way we think has much to do with the way we behave The way we behave has much to do with our notions assumptions and perceptions. And the way we are perceived has much to do with the way we carry ourselves. Our personality & attitude is our projection of our personas Our nature is interweaved with the emotional state of being . In acknowledging this… Our life’s journey evolves in awareness.
What we say to ourselves Is immensely impactful! Lets understand the power Within each of us. Let’s review our internal dialogues…
When you are about to say ‘ Let me give up’ Change it to Let me try again
When you think I am not enough Can you say I am capable as I am.
When you fear failure Can you learn from failure And emerge stronger from the experience
Life truly has many possibilities For those who care to see And acknowledge life’s lessons.
With love from Athens Greece … 🙂 At the World Dance Research Congress Greece UNESCO as a representative member from India 🙂 An example of Unity in Diversity…. Approximately 400 conferees from 40 countries of the 5 continents.!
Today in India, so glad to write this, the dance community that represents India internationally has grown from strength to strength … yet ‘Spot me’ if you can … I was the only woman representative from India at that time.
An amalgamation of such an association and the resulting experiences leaves one enriched for a life time. The practice resulting thereof in pursuit of excellence becomes important. In the awareness of the possibilities in dance applications on the human psyche and form, the responsibility of making a positive difference in your purpose is strengthened.
Power to more such immersive and experiential collaborations in the art of dance movements across the world. 🙏
Have been writing and sharing my thoughts and reflections here on WordPress for many years now. Many of you have been with me in this journey off and on and some of you consistently so… and for both I am full of gratitude.
Through these poems and prose my life’s experiences and explorations have often been my muse in the musings.
Just wondering out loud how am I perceived through these words. And what do you sense of me intuitively?
Would you care to share?
It’s simply a self exploratory share to learn and understand some more and I sincerely hope to hear from you.
In return I too will try my best to share my understanding of you through your posts.
Could I know through this post how do you perceive me?
Some of you might have read this before but I have posted it as it’s worth reading again and again 😊
Motivational Story – The Bamboo Tree
A man got frustrated with life. Despite all the hard work and effort, failure was all that he learnt. Feeling defeated with life, he left everything and exiled himself in the woods. There he met a Hermit. The disappointed man shared is failure with the hermit. “Give me one good reason not to quit?”- He pleaded the Hermit
“Look”, the hermit said, pointing towards two plants. “Do you see that fern and bamboo there?
“Yes”, the man nodded.
“When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them water, light and fertilizer. Within a short period of time the fern quickly grew from the earth”, the hermit continued.
“But despite the Bamboo seed being watered and nurtured for years, it did not outwardly grow as much as an inch. In fact, nothing at all happened in the first year. There was no sign of growth. But, I did not give up on the Bamboo seed and continued to water and nurture it. By the fifth year, a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. And within six months, the tree grew a hundred feet tall.”
“So, did the bamboo tree lie dormant for four years only to grow exponentially in the fifth?” the hermit asked. Baffled by the question the man kept quiet. “The answer is quite obvious. The little tree was growing underground, developing a root system strong enough to support its potential for outward growth in the fifth year and beyond. Had the tree not developed a strong foundation, it would not have sustained its life as it grew.”
“Did you know that all the time you had been struggling, you were growing strong roots”, remarked the hermit
The man learned his lesson that day. He learnt the value of persistence and hard work. The fern and the bamboo stood right in front of him as he walked towards his life to continue to work on his dreams
During the course of a Management Seminar, Mr. T.N.Seshan, former Chief Election Commissioner shared an experience he had while travelling in Uttar Pradesh with his wife.As they were travelling by road, they saw a large mango plantation filled with sparrow nests. Seshan’s wife decided to carry two nests to their home. The police escort called a young boy who was grazing cows and asked him to bring down two nests and offered to pay him Ten Rupees. The boy refused as Seshan raised the offer to Rupees Fifty. The boy told Seshan and his wife, “Sahib, I will not do it for whatever you will give. Inside these nests are baby sparrows. If I give those nests to you, in the evening, when the mother sparrow returns with food for the babies and does not find them there, she will cry. I do not have the heart to see that.”* Seshan and his wife were taken aback and felt small.Seshan later recounted that his position and the IAS label melted away in front of that little boy. He stood in front of the young boy feeling as small as a mustard seed. He added that after returning home, this incident continued to haunt him with guilt for several days. Education, position or social status is never a yardstick for the measure of humanity. Let’s not forget that knowledge is to know and understand the beauty of nature. We don’t achieve anything by gathering a lot of information as long as that information does not get transformed into wisdom. And wisdom is useless as long as we don’t apply it in our daily life.
To all my Care giving friends the lightworkers , the mentors and spiritual guiders, the motivators and healers on their special journey stepping in tandem with their calling! Keep going… you are on track!
