Question is then how to be enthused, Into doing the same tasks differently? And break free from rut of routine. Yet make this day great! Very simple… Stay hopeful, see life’s potential Create the possibilities It’s all in the way of envisioning How you want to build your life It’s all up to you!
There is a Cobbler who sits across the street in front of my Office Building.
Every day, I see that there is a stray dog who comes and sits with him as soon as he arrives at the place, and he feeds him biscuits and some times milk.
The man gets busy in his work, while the dog sits there and gives him company.
One can feel that there is a unknown connection between them, they have conversation without a word being spoken.
He also brings food for birds, which he keeps at different places on the street pavement where he sits for his work.
Many people stop by and ask him for directions, he always guides them with a smile. Even if he doesn’t get any business from them.
If he sees a homeless person going by, he offers them water and food that he has brought for himself and engages in conversations with them.
One can see and feel the peace, the conversations bring to them.
I felt to go and meet him today.
He smiled at me and said his name is Dayaram, and asked me if I would like to have tea?
Pleasantly surprised, I said, “Sure, let’s have some tea.”
Here is a man who would be struggling to make ₹ 200-300 a day, out of which he would be spending around ₹ 12 – Rs.15 on the food that he brings for the dog and the birds, and the two cups of tea would cost him another ₹ 20.
He being rich in his own way, smiles radiantly, and his calm, effortless, abundant state of being is infectious.
I told him that I have been observing him, what he does, and that I am humbled and fascinated by it.
We continue talking, and I refer to the dog, and he says “Oh! he’s just one of us – God’s Own Creation”.
Talk about non-duality!
He goes on to say that “I am not serving… it is He who is making it happen via this person. It would be egoistic to say that ‘I’ am doing it!”
I fold my hands and bow to him, and request him to accept some money, saying, “It is not I, who is giving you this money, it is He who is sending it to you via myself.”
We laugh and he obliges me by accepting it.
As I am about to leave, he says:
“Maango Ussi se, Baanto khushi se, Kaho na kissi se”
माँगो उसी से, बाँटो ख़ुशी से, कहो ना किसी से
(Ask from Him, but then don’t just accumulate it – give it away to others with happiness and gratitude, and do it silently!)
Patience awaits
In faith and belief
Patience is understanding
For patience hones itself
For the suitable moments.
Patience is non-judgmental
Patience bears the burden
Of the moments
Knowing the power of time.
Patience is resilience in action
Patience is strength of the spirit
Patience speaks volumes of the soul
Without a word or deed.
Such is the wisdom of Patience
For much is resolved in patience.
A true Companion for Wisdom is Patience and a lot of life’s so called situations which need solutions can be resolved by thinking differently !
Friend… such a beautiful word! I loved this particular space at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Belgium and felt so much at home there. Although it meant become a friend of the museum…the fact was, there was so much positive energy simply being in it.
Be a friend reach out to care Be inclusive and expansive Our world needs more of it. Care to open your heart and share Express your hopes and aspirations Love life enough to live it lovingly!
Every day early morning a little girl would come to the temple and stand before the idol, close her eyes and with folded hands, murmur something for a couple of minutes. Then open her eyes, bow down, smile and go out running. This was a daily affair. The temple Poojari was observing her and was curious about what she was doing. He thought, she is too small to know the deeper meanings of religion, she would hardly know any prayers. But then what was she doing every morning in the temple? Fifteen days passed and Poojari now couldn’t resist but to find out more about her behaviour. One morning, the Poojari reached there before the girl and was waiting for her to complete her ritual. He placed his hand on her head and said, “My child, I have seen since the last fifteen days that you come here regularly. What do you do?” “I pray,” She said spontaneously. “Do you know any prayers?” asked the Poojari with some suspicion in his voice. “…No” Replied the girl. “Then what are you doing closing your eyes, every day?” he smiled. Very innocently the girl said:“I do not know any prayer, but I know “a,b,c,d….up to z.” ‘I recite it five times’ and tell God that, “I don’t know your prayer, but it cannot be outside of these alphabets.” Please arrange the alphabets as you wish and that is my prayer.” And she ran, jumping on her way out. The Poojari stood there dumbstruck, staring at her for a long time as she disappeared running in the wilderness.
This is THE UNCONDITIONAL belief in God that we pray.
Musings on Positive Mindsetting and Optimism by my mother Anjana.
Love this piece by her.
Seeing the glass half full or half empty makes a lot of difference to your mind set. Positive thinking is not to ignore the negativities of matters or situations. It is to see the options to overcome the obstacles in the best possible way. Seeing goodness and being positive reduces unnecessary stress and unwanted heaviness of heart. It lightens the mind, to a cheerful mood and to a healthy you.
Being positive does not erase the difficulties or seriousness of the problem. But when you look at the light out side the dark tunnel, finding ways to cross the darkness becomes easier. The severity of the dark cloud fades away when you have the bright Sun in your vision. A positive mind strengthens your will power to cope up in situations , reduces your stress level resulting in a healthier you, increases life span.
A positive mind can identify and filter the negative thoughts at its seed level and tries to steer away from it. Devoid of imaginary fears you can see problems at its reality with an optimistic mind. Approaching life, facing its realities with a positive attitude makes solutions easier. It gives you better resiliency over adversity, reduces depression, improves your immunity. When your mental strength is increased, it becomes easy to identify and manage challenges, to bring out best positive results.
A positive mind makes you more stronger, , more communicative, more people friendly, more humorous, & healthier. It makes you a better person to be with. Always be positive, be happy, be healthy. Surround yourself with positive people.
It is a habit of a lifetime to cultivate To remember to be kinder to oneself as much as another It’s good to acknowledge the now And remember every movement is happening As it is preordained. Let worries take a backseat As well as the need for overt perfection. Just keep the faith and hope alive in your heart Simply know deep within… All is well as it is meant to be.
