Art is meant to align us.
The true purpose of an artform is found in the aligning with the universal consciousness .

Arrested Development
Great things can come in little packages
Like a Bonsai perhaps
Standing majestic and magnificent
No matter the proportions
But what does it endure to be?
Life without freedom
Is a life of constraints & restraints
A life of arrested development

Is beauty winning over freedom to be
Is the desire for aesthetics and a taste of experimentation
more important than freedom for living life fully
Stunting growth is no way beautiful
Be it Shackles on feet with chains or tight shoes in the name of beauty
On the other end there are many examples of prejudices of beauty working itself in society.
Delibrate acts of elongating necks with chains of gold is considered a norm in some parts of the world
Why is life so brutal to life
In the name of beauty?

Whoever thinks being slow is a weakness
Has not understood its power
In being able to slow down
The propensity to think carefully
To pay attention to detail
To be mindful & cautious
To work with precision
Steadiness and thoroughness
Increases manifold.
In slowing down, nature teaches
Great lessons in letting go
Like time cannot be contained
Moments are meant to flow
It’s own course
Yet the strength of the slow
Is in the ability to live the now
Recognizing the value of life.

There is an art of the slow
Where the senses activate
And creativity enhances
In thinking and reflecting
In careful consideration
Slow is challenging for some
Yet slow can be earnest practice of mindfulness
Slow begets a response than reaction
Slow can be about building up gradually
And exploring the possibilities
Of the potential in this now.
Slow can be a deliberation
In patience & perseverance
With an effortless grace
Such is the art of the slow.

To listen is to understand
Is a power of hearing well
The said and the unsaid
To listen is to remain quiet
To allow oneself to hear
The voice of others than self
To listen is to develop patience
To be able to acknowledge
And understand the said
To listen is an art to cultivate
Not easy always to curb speech
Listening leads to self control
To listen is not wait to speak
But to hear & understand
Care to listen or speak more?
A mark of good leadership
Good listening is a great asset
Take time to listen more…

Is there a space you love to be
Where you feel most you ?
Where there is respite from chaos
Where there is peace for the sensing
What is that place for you ?

Your home or somewhere far away?
While I love people and enjoy my time with them
And infact get charged by some amazing conversations

I would also love to be by myself
By nature preferably walking
In the calm of a forest trail
Or perhaps on a winding road uphill,
Would love to have a flowing river by my side
and most of all be surrounded by trees

Or even up the mountains
Watching the world from a vantage view.
And then comes the sandy beaches and sea
There are of course those moments to cherish
With the whistling dunes
In all I would love free spaces
where I could sense the earths energy undisturbed.
And be synched in for a while.
May be hugging a tree or an animal

Or walking by a beautiful stream
Or under a canopy of stars at night.
These are spaces for me
To connect deeply within.
How about you?

On Freedom
Freedom is being able to be all of you
But remembering the rights
Of other lives to be all of them
When we understand…
Our Freedom ends where another’s freedom begins.

So then
How free do you feel in this now
How important is freedom to you?
Can you sense your life flowing
Or is there restraints that bound you
Can you express yourself without hesitation?
Can you speak your mind without fear?
Can you write without worrying if the words may reveal your nature?
Can you walk alone without a care where you live?
Can you wear what you want without fear of ridicule?
Can you dance the way your spirit moves you?
In short
Can you flow in harmony with the spirit in you?
If you have answered more yes than no then consider yourself closer to being truly free.
Freedom is not for giving
Freedom is there for taking
Freedom is being you
As you truly are
Freedom is living
Without facades.
Wherever you sense
You are most you.
Now…
How free are you feeling
In this now?

‘Let my soul smile through my heart and my heart smile through my eyes, that I may scatter rich smiles in sad hearts.’
Paramahansa Yogananda
Have you smiled today?
When you smile from the heart
You begin to let go the spurious
You rise above apprehensions
And self created notions.
Smile from the heart ❤️

Breathe deep in trust
Breathe well in faith
Breathe in peace
Let go uncertainty
Breathe in connectedness
Own your every breath
It’s yours to inhale & exhale.
Sense your breathe in balance
Reach out with confidence
Stay grounded in rootedness
In this now, witness
The present moment
For it makes all the difference
Just breathe…

Grateful for a powerful caption that caught my eye
‘Don’t bite more than you can chew.’
Denotes the wisdom of moderation in life and living. To know a cut off point
Is to know where to draw the line between exhaustion and excitement.
Simply taking on more work or responsibility or trying to multitasking beyond your abilities and capacities is self defeating.
So only commit to what you truly can deliver .
Not less not more.
So grateful to have read this many years ago. It struck a deep chord in me and must say I have been trying consistently to practice this advice in lifeand living.
Happy to share this simple yet profoundly impactful learning.

There is something endearing about dancing with a partner, it’s the power to attract another magnetically and charmingly interact with another’s energy and spirit through dance movement.
A prerequisite to dancing well is one’s ability to take an emotional journey and open oneself and to share and connect to another’s energies .This is what engages the audience and keeps them enthralled. It’s beyond the physicality of steps, patterns, touch, or even the right dance hold or dance frame. It’s in the ability to dance with space, time, yet in complete awareness of one another’s heart of movement.
I had an opportunity to experience this just the other day when I witnessed all of this and more in Rohini (my mother’s friend actually) a family friend of many years .
I have known her to be a simple religious and a happy go lucky person who also may have been through much personal turmoil like so many others but yet has managed a cheerful disposition every time I met her.
Her characteristic sunny nature would never give away the strife behind the smile. The occasion was her 25 th wedding anniversary that I got invited to , and as we reached the venue the couple were at the dais, very understated , a picture of simplicity & composure.
The evening took off, with all their close friends having some wonderful and touching things to say about them both.
There was a small dance floor which soon got filled up with people who were initially hesitant As the music filled the air many more of us started getting into the groove and dancing. And then I saw her, it was her in her element, dancing from her heart and soul. It was fantastic to see her energetic dancing in full display for the all to see , Her ever calm and composed husband seemed mesmerized by all the fun moves she did .
In fact everyone was charmed by her passion and for that moment I realized just then that her joyful dancing soul had peeped out from the depths of it all.
Kudos to her for keeping the spirit of dancing alive in her through all these years .God bless!
Dancing from the heart always counts more than perfection of steps. And that’s the ultimate challenge… To keep the mind open, ready, receptive, giving and simple enough, to dare to step out of comfort zones.
My salute to this dancing soul !

Looking back at life’s challenges
If you were to see things
With the element of time
Yesterday it may have mattered a great deal.
Today things are different
Perceptions change altering our perspectives.
And we learn to see the bigger picture
And then we give and take.
And learn to receive and let go.
And life goes on!
Savvy

Life presents new paths at every turn
Every now has new learnings.
The trick is to be present in this moment
To understand the evolving perspectives
To be one, with the changes that manifests
Be present. Be adaptable. Be receptive!

A prayer is a bow of acceptance.
A prayer is a joyous amalgamation to the divine within.

Logically
There is always a reason
For things as they are
For people to be who they are
For time to be as is
So dont worry!
Just be happy…
