Being tender in the toughest of times
Being gentle and generous with the self
In times of chaos and conflicts
In and around us
Is the way of weathering-the-storms.
Being caring and compassionate
In thoughts words and deeds.
With empathy that empowers
In light and goodwill.
Is the way of gentle heart
Flowing in loving kindness.
Everything is in this now
Who am I in this now,
Matters more than ever before
For tomorow that is yet to arrive.
Instead of mulling over
Uncertainties of life
Disappointments & falls
Rise in this moment.
Ask the self
Who am I in this now?
Whatever and however this moment presents…
Am I able to look at what is?
Meet it with composure?
What are my kind of choices ?
Am I reacting or responding
In this now of my life?
Perhaps in this vulnerable space
With the truths of my being,
I sense myself growing
From and out of every experience.
That teaches me to listen
Allowing me to flow with life
Making sense, along the way.
Knowing in my heart

The Vision & verse…
A bit on writing this poem.
I choose an open structure with just a light punctuation such that the lines flow into one another and can be interpreted creatively. I recognize it is a natural way for me to write.
I remembered a day where simply walking on such a peaceful eastern shore, I felt the shifting energy bring balance in my being. There was just me the sky and the ocean, today I have tried to envision that lived moment, that presence I felt in the white sands and whiffs of ocean mist in just these six lines of verse.
