Just another tree?

Roads of Goa

Don’t know you 

How you live and breathe

In these nondescript pathway.

Yet here you are

Vividly present

Colouring the blue sky

With blossoms of contrasts.

Mature trunk and verdant   leaves

You strike a pose 

You hold a  stance 

In your unique way.

I see you dear tree

Grateful for your being

For you nurtured many lives

Seen many a solar cycles.

I bless you with all my heart

For healing this world…

For the world may be

You are just another tree

For me you live vibrantly

Evergreen in my memories.

A sight to behold

A vision to thank 

In recognition and  gratitude

For your impactful presence🙏

A trip down memory lane.

An unexpected yet beautiful burst of colour contrasting the bright blue sky  prompted me to click a photo in a split second, enroute a road trip to Goa a few years ago…

Sharing some amazing facts about the positive ecological impacts from one fully mature tree, that I came across.

Key Environmental & Ecological Impacts

  • ​Natural Climate Control: Through evapotranspiration and shade, one healthy mature tree provides a net cooling effect equal to 10 room-sized air conditioners running 20 hours a day. This can lower local microclimate temperatures by up to 3°F–5°F.
  • ​Carbon Vault: A single tree absorbs roughly 48 pounds (22 kg) of CO₂ per year. Over a 40-year lifespan, it locks away nearly 1 metric ton of atmospheric carbon in its trunk, roots, and surrounding soil.
  • ​Oxygen Generation: One fully grown, leafy tree generates enough net oxygen per year to sustain 2 to 4 human beings.
  • ​Hydrological Shield: A single mature canopy can intercept and soak up 2,300 gallons of stormwater runoff per year. Its root network stabilizes topsoil against erosion while filtering heavy metals and synthetic pollutants before water enters local aquifers.
  • ​Air Filtration: Leaves and bark actively trap particulate matter (PM2.5) while absorbing gaseous pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, ground-level ozone, and sulfur dioxide—removing dozens of pounds of air pollutants annually.
  • Biodiversity Anchor: A single native tree (such as an oak) can support over 500 distinct species of insects, birds, mosses, and beneficial microorganisms, functioning as a self-contained ecosystem.

That I am fond of trees is nothing new… I have written many verses on trees before as well, yet in here I share a message close to my heart…

The past is clutching you

But choose to sculpt a new now

Shed your old skin

Unclasp the tags.

Yesterday may hold you captive

But choose to chisel on relentlessly

Bit by bit…

And free yourself from its vice like grip.

Trust, all is well in time.

Heartbeats

Storms rage and ravage

They lay waste the efforts

And destruct many a lives.

Yet they rise, only to fall

When the storm subsides

The world picks up the pieces

Of the then and now…

To build again in hope

That tommorow is another new day.

But storms that pass, often leave imprints;

Of traumas in those testing times

Of  fear in the back of the mind. 

They appear in dreams

Almost as if it is reality.

They create confusion in the sanest of times

But when the heart knows  

That fear is just the mind 

Playing its tricks again.

It becomes brave

And continues to beat stronger

And life dances to its beats…

For it has survived the storm.

Rest all is history 💙

Storms have a way of playing with our life even when they  have long subsided.
The brewing storm in our  thoughts and dreams  may seem fearful  yet they also bring perspective to empower ourselves.

I write these verses inspired by  the reading the title and verses of this poem, this morning. Thank you 🙏   poeticmobility.

Art lives on…

An artist leaves much more
than creativity in the artwork.

There is a voice in every frame,
speaking deeply if you care to listen.

That voice carries the artist’s choices
of color and composition,
of style and strokes,
of moods and feelings
breathed into the birth of art.

The artist speaks through the work.
The energy of the artist is embedded
in words, in lines, in shapes and forms.

When a piece feels complete,
the artist releases it to the world.
And yet, the energy lives on,
transforming itself through time
and the spaces it inhabits.

Art is transformed again
in translation and interpretation,
reshaped by those who encounter it.

As creators, whether of images or words,
our work continues to live,
each viewer or reader sensing its energy uniquely.
And so it flows…
transforming itself in time.

The Game Changer

Often it is in the adversity,

you meet your true strengths.

In the tests of life,

you find your true self.

That which you discover

in these challenges,

arrives in the journey

to steer you on your path.

So hold on, in trust & faith.

For no matter what,

all in not lost.

You will find it in you,

to begin anew. 

In experiences of adversity, 

you meet yourself.

And that’s the gamechanger.

A question to my reader…

If you were to think of the past challenges,what comes to mind as a strength you uncovered about your self that you wouldn’t  have found any other way ?

Reflections on Strength

Every morning in my  moments of gratitude, I reflect on the things that I could have some times taken for granted. It has become a consistent habit for many years now…

In these contemplations there is often much that emerges, sometimes what’s apparent is not what is, and sometimes  what is, is not all…

Today it was all about  strength, not the kind that makes you go on, to push further but actually the kind  that is gentle and quiet, I am talking of that which is often invisible.

What came up was …

That strength doesn’t have to proclaim
That strength is often that which is hidden in you
That surfaces in the storms
That strength too needs rest to recover and its ok
That strength is seen in the so called small ordinary moments of life in subtle ways
That strength needs no nudging but nurturing in gratitude, for it appears whenever in need as a force of nature.
That every one of your strengths and my strengths are valuable in our lives to make it whole and complete.

Gratitude to all spheres of  strength in need for its a strength in deed.
