Strength of a circle

There is great power in a circle that is inclusive and expansive.

Speaking of organizations a clear organisational structure helps to understand the relations of positions in an organisation with respect to position and authority. There are many ways that organisations are structured and each have their own pros and cons. Traditional flat structure to pyramid, circular to modern network structures etc. The value of taking the right structural approach in building organisations cannot be undermined.

The strength of circles:

The circle appears hierarchical with its power core and expansive with concentric spread of power yet its very strength is in its form that helps align values in teams.

For transformative change to align with the core values, trust and transparency is paramount to foster and this needs an inclusive and expansive approach inside out in a circular manner that is consistent to sustain. The organisation needs to support a circular structure with open door policies on communication, and work on learning and development to create accessible training programmes across the spectrum.

The circular structure has a clear psychological advantage in the form itself as leaders are not positioned at the top, making it easier for the vision accessible for one and all, thus increasing collaboration as it considers  different departments as part of the same whole.

There are infinite  possibilities of growth, in a circle of team, increasing a sense of belonging, mutual respect, and engagement of human potential, in the realisation that no one is as strong as all of us.

Spirit Ablaze…

Sky above, earth below, and fire within,
As I stand here,
Under the canopy of twinkling stars in the sky,
Sensing the nourishing earth under my feet,
And the fire ablaze, in the spirit of my soul.

The fire within, I nurture ,
As passion that fuels, my soul
A purpose that ignites, and a will to succeed,
A heart that beats, a dream to be freed.

Watching the sky above, clouds floating by,
Like a bird soaring I choose to fly,
And I wonder of infinite possibilities,
Until the setting sun, draws the moon at night.

I feel the fertile ground
Sense the abundance of nature.
A garden of life.
In every breathing life, is a universe within,
Bountiful beauty, to inspire dreams.

Sky above, earth below and fire within,
A journey of life, with a prayer in hope
To meet the mornings, awaiting the purpose of life.
With the spirit ablaze in my beating heart.

Meet life.

Meet life in the eye
See the light it shows

Meet life in this now
Understand there is always a reason why

And then trust enough
To meet it with enthusiasm to live
So you can meet the miracles in this now.

Be open to receive

Be open to receive.

Sharing a Tamil story translation by my mother Anjana.

I found this piece written by her today morning and shared as I felt many times we are ourselves in the way of our blessings. There is so much abundance, we are yet not ready to hear, take, care to see, that we miss partaking the joy of having them, often because our own ignorance, ego or lack of awareness comes in the way. All the abundance mean nothing if we are not ready to receive it.

Let’s be open ready to receive…

It was raining heavily. Grand mother was sitting in the verandah and her little granddaughter was playing nearby… So the grandmother told her granddaughter so much water is going waste,so keep a big vessel to fill clean water.

The girl who was playing refused to listen. So the grandmother noticed it and said sternly, Is just keeping the big vessel in the rain a big job? Go and keep it in the open. Grandma ordered. The girl went with half mind.

After some time when it stopped raining, Grandma got up to happily bring the vessel full of water.
She was shocked to see ,not a drop of water was collected.
The girl has kept the vessel upside down , just as it was kept inside!

Of course there was plenty of rain, but the vessel was not ready to collect a single drop.

Same like the Universe is filled with Divine blessings. But our hearts are not open to receive it. If we are ready with open heart the Cosmic Abundance will be in harmony with us.

Tamil Story translation by my mother Anjana.

Be to Become

Be all that you can

To become all that you want

Becoming what you want to be

Is a journey in time

Of highs and lows

To become is to envision

To intend consistently

The very same vision day in and out

To persevere time and time again

Without losing sight of your intent

To be passionate about what you are

To have patience in waiting

As you inch closer and closer

To become what you want to be.

And trust, what you are meant to be

Will always find a way!

A leap of faith

A leap of faith
Is what makes life a life.
Take the chances
That you choose to let go.
Be intentional
So that life doesn’t slip away
Take the chance
May be they turn out
The best decision of your life.

They say opportunity does not knock twice.. So take a leap of faith.

So when you hear the calling of your heart & soul…

Trust you can and you can!

The Dance & The Dancer

How can you separate the dancer from the dance?

For there is no one without the other

Body and soul united in spirit.

When the two meet there emerges energy

In unison of the cohesive oneness

The heart knows what the mind speaks

And mind tells what the heart wants

In the dance of the lead and follow

There is no one without the other.

There is a draw of passion

There a pull of power

And there is the push of purpose

To flow as one in the moment of the now!

Embedded is the dance in a dancer

Embalmed is the dancer in the dance.

Shake it off & Step up

Sharing an interesting read that came my way today… Life is to thrive

One day a farmer’s donkey fell into a well. The animal cried loudly for hours, while the farmer tried to find something to do to get him out.

Finally, the farmer decided that the donkey was old and the well was already dry and needed to be covered anyway; that it really wasn’t worth pulling the donkey out of the well..

He invited all his neighbors to come help him. They each grabbed a shovel and began to throw dirt into the well.

The donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly loud. Then, to everyone’s surprise, he quieted down after a few shovelfuls of dirt.

The farmer finally looked down into the well and was amazed at what he saw… with each shovelful of dirt, the donkey was doing something incredible: It was shaking off the dirt and stepping on top of the dirt.

Very soon everyone saw surprised how the donkey reached the mouth of the well, went over the edge and trotted out…

Life is going to throw dirt at you, all kinds of dirt… the trick to getting out of the hole is to shake it off and use it to step up. Each of our problems is a step up. We can get out of the deepest holes if we don’t give up…

Use the land they throw you to get ahead!!!

Remember the 5 rules to be happy:

  1. Free your heart from hate.
  2. Free your Mind of distractions.
  3. Simplify your life.
  4. Give more and expect less.
  5. Love more and… shake the dirt, because in this life you have to be a solution, not the problem.

Shine on

Shine your light

The light of you

That comes through you

Your voice your truth

Your speech your words

Your work your authenticity

Your moves your way

Step into your light

Step into your place

Fill it with all of you

For none can fill this space

There is no other like you

For you are unique.

In your own way

Shine on.

Habitually Angry?

When was the last time you got really angry?

Just a while ago, yesterday, few days ago, a week a few months or can’t remember the last time you were really angry?

There are many causes of anger and often, the root is in irritation, frustration neglect or abuse or even unfairness.

Often anger comes and goes…

But when you are unable
To let go of habitual anger
It’s a path of distress
That leads to self destruction
Anger poisons the  mind & body
Leading to rage when out of control.
Yet, its part of being human.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.
Buddha

When anger has an emotional attachment and it gets difficult to let go easily. Mindfulness then is the path to emotional freedom.

Seneca the ancient Roman philosopher had a very relevant remedy for anger… He said, the greatest remedy for anger is delay.

How you choose to channel your thoughts
And effectively manage anger
Is what makes all the difference.

How do you express anger?
Are you assertive or aggressive?
This is what matters more
More importantly when angry
Can you say what’s on your mind
Can you even speak in a clear way?
Or are you emotions clouding you?

Perhaps you are suppressing anger
Then chances are it may surge
And unexpectedly so.
So instead, can you channelize your anger?
For then you control your anger
Before it controls you.

Life strings

Who runs your life
Is your life flowing the way you intend
Or is there a possibility
That the strings of your life
Is in anothers hand?

Question your self
In whose hands are your life strings?

As a child you may have your parents
That hold the strings for your self protection

As a teenager you may have questions on the strings itself

And then as a young adult many other strings may have come into existence
Some for a season, a reason or a lifetime
Then growing some more
These strings may have felt like a pull and push from all directions

Getting ahead a few more years
Some you may sense getting weaker
And some may have got stronger

Growing older and perhaps wiser
Of things as they were
And as they are…

A life lived
To fulfil a purpose
Is it yours at all
Or is it another’s dream
After all
In your head and heart
You may have the truth
Of a life lived
A stringed existence.

From innocence
To rebellion
From learning
To curiousity
From understanding
To accepting
And in the sharings.
And knowingly or unknowingly
In awareness or without
We come alive and die
Infinite tines
In the many moments
In our lives…

It’s a stringed existence after all.

A photo inspired poetry
9 :28 4rth of July India

While I wrote this piece yesterday seeing the photo inspiration , I am also aware that I had this thought on the truth of freedom many times.

What do you think on freedom within a stringed existence?

Are you in the drivers seat of your life

And if so what are the things you have compromised or have contended with to drive on…

Truth is in the meaning and purpose of the stringed connection.

Tune in

As you dance
Tapping your toes
To your own heartbeats
Life senses your rhythm
And waltzes along with you,

The joy of life
Manifests itself
Tuning into the melody of the harmony.
Creating music that beats in the synchrony.

Faith Love Truth

Master your mind they say

Before it masters you

Acknowledge the truths of life

For mind is full of thoughts

Creating countless thoughts

Know the value of mindfulness

Being mindful is about self awareness

To master the mind

Master your thoughts

Become aware of this now.

Whatever is this moment

Sense it and you breathe in it

Feel it and be alive in it

For the truth is in every moment

What you decide to do in this now

Has power to change and rearrange

Your state of being.

Life is precious

Have faith and trust

Stay hopeful in every breath.

For the truth is you can.

After all the mind works

On what you feed it.
