The day you realize Your potential You begin to explore possibilities And you even make The impossible possible
Care to ask yourself… Are you safeguarding your boundaries Or being too accepting That you tolerate more than you truly should. What are you hoping for? Is it approval and validation Are you waiting for another To love you? Perhaps you need to celebrate Who you are!
Secret of success A ten year old Japanese boy dreamt of becoming a judo champion. But he didn’t have his left hand. Judo is hard to learn even for a fittest person. What will this disabled boy do.
He went to many masters in vain. Atlast one master agreed. The training started. He taught him a single attack for days together. Months went by. The teacher didn’t teach him anything else. He was disheartened. Master how this one attack is enough. Pl. Teach me more. Master replied, you become expert in this one attack, that is enough. He can’t disobey his master. The training continued.
The championship tournament started. First round. A fully trained opponent n this boy who has learnt just one attack. The boy won to everyone’s surprise.
Second, third, he won till the semi finals. He won that too.
The finals. The opponent has won many championships. He felt pity n rediculance on seeing his one handed opponent. First round started. The boy couldn’t stand the champion’s attack. He fell down. All took pity on him and wanted to stop the competition. The master said, no, he will fight the second round. The champion became overconfident. He removed his helmet and started to fight with a little laid back attitude . The boy attacked the only way he knew with full force. The champion fell down. The boy won the championship. None, even the boy couldn’t believe what happened.
Later, the boy bowed his master and asked him how he won knowing one single attack. Master smiled and said, two reasons for your success. One , you have mastered one of judo’s most powerfull attack. Second, there is only one way to defend this attack for the opponent. He has to catch your left hand, which in your case he can’t.. Your weakness became your strength and made you a champion. The boy stood in wonder and bowed in reverence. If we all know how to turn our weakness as our strength and learn to face life with its challanges success is not far. Life has given every individual a uniqueness. Use it wisely.
A translation of a Tamil forward by my mother Anjana
I wrote this piece with respect for so many entrepreneurial spirits and their enterprise. Who catapult to fame and recognition but then often find themselves unable to sustain themselves. And the heart-wrenching truth is that not all have the resilience and the capability to bounce back.
But life is a circle and change is the order of nature.
In the toughest of rounds
Keep the faith and patience
And trust time to show the way…
Ladders that lead
The climb is a chase, but the fall is steep.
So persevere on beyond just the achievement.
Be tenacious in ascent & resilient in descent.
Ladders that lead you higher in the name of career success, fame and glory lead you to so much more than just that. As you climb each step gradually, you inch closer to your dreams.
You are chalking your life in every move. And then in the pinnacle of your success…
You realize you have reached your goal.
Here is the point of discernment
As you observe, check the signs around you
Are you ready to play the game of survival?
You will receive less warmth here than ever before.
Your colleagues will change their minds
Think twice before supporting you.
Fear not and keep on going
Stay mindful in the moment.
Ladders are meant to go up and down. If you have climbed up you must know to establish your survival modes else there is the ladder that brings you down.
But it’s twice much harder to bear, on the way down than the challenges you face on the way up.
What do you do when ladders do the disappearing act?
Sometimes the ladder vanishes
And there is no clear way to step down
Except for a blind leap of faith.
There may be darkness and uncertainty
Sadness and silence
Shame and blame
All devastating effects
Of loss and failure
Yet the trick is to go on
Correcting your ways
Learning from the experience
And letting go of past foibles.
Mistakes make you more aware
Hurt a little and you are cautious
In pain there is understanding
It’s what to watch out for!
Paths that may seem easy
May get you embroiled in complexities.
Watch yourself along the way
For the journey takes all of you!
You will encounter much support on the way up
But once you are catapulted into the halls of fame…
You will find many critics and judgments
From those watching with interest
How you are managing it from here.
With all those judgemental eyes on you
One slip is a sure fire miss and costs a lot!
Watch your every stepand move
For you are being followed
Here is where your resilience is tested!
Stay true to who are.
Look ahead as you trust yourself.
Paths can appear out of nowhere.✨🙏✨
I find this quote empowering in days when energy feels blue…
Look up, laugh loud, talk big, keep the color in your cheek and the fire in your eye, adorn your person, maintain your health, your beauty and your animal spirits. William Hazlitt
There is much power in words than we choose to acknowledge and accept
Often when our energies are imbalanced in one way or the other leading to stress, overthinking and despair. It helps to have uplifting words that motivate and inspire as well as balance our thoughts and deeds.
Sharing it with a smile and positivity it brings forth.✨😊✨
Nature of humans Nurtured in love Seeding compassion Watered in hope Reared in kindness Strengthened in trustfulness Rooted in connectedness Fortified in faith. Sustains humanity.
