Light In Shadows

Shadows speak much

Silhouettes cast

Shading surfaces…

Shadows are not all dark

Sometimes they seem grey

Sometimes blue on snow

Soaked in skies of clear blue .

Shadows are not all tall

Shadows falling at noon

Shrinking into themselves

Seeming almost nonexistent.

Shadows not only keep time

Shadows change with clock.

Shadows are a step behind

Seen on opposing ends.

Speaking  of art

Shadows and artists

Seem interconnected.

For an artist knows

To play with shadows

To light something up.

Creating contrasts

And dramatic depth.

Speaking of depth

Shadows hide within us

Sensing  and keeping scores

Symbolic of the yet unseen

Still emerging in actions

Still evident even if unsaid.

Still granting form to light

Staying united at source.

Shafts of light may be seen

Shadows muted self

Subtly beautiful  shadows…

Shadows can be beautiful

Sharp or blurry visions

Sharing wisdom from within

Shadows are not superior

Shadows are not inferior

Simply united at source

Shadows are part of us.

Apricity

April has come and gone

August too has passed on

Changing months

Changing seasons

Although pleasant and cool.

There is a nip in the air

Winter is soon approaching

Just around the bend.

Across the horizon

I look up at the morning sun

Awakening my senses warmly

In the alchemy of apricity.

This poem flows along in my simple joy of using this rarely used word. APRICITY…the warmth of a winters sun.

Hoping for apricity

Wind in the sky

Wind in the sky

Invisible to the eye

Its strength is in its movement.

In fluidity of the flow.

Speed is its force

Dynamic in its directions

Powerful in its presence.                

Without physical form.

Yet it’s the air that we breathe

That keeps us alive…

Wind in the sky

Agility its second name

Knows to blow hot & cold.

To be a breeze or a blizzard

Impactful is its presence.

Resilient in its ways

Change is its nature.

Reiki on Rakhi

Today is the day Rakhi  a festival that is celebrated by Indians all over the world to strengthen the bond of a brother and sister.

Celebrated  with love and devotion this festival makes its way into hearts for its simple ways to remember the  unconditional  love between  them.

The sister ties a rakhi thread on her brothers wrist to mark  the prayers and love she has in her heart for him.

My brother is very close to my heart and lives far away. Today as a reiki practitioner along with the rakhi I have already sent, I also choose to send out a reiki healing prayer for my brother. 

Have shared a heart felt prayer I created with Ai.
