6 Tips on Improving Emotional Health

Emotional Health & Intelligence

Your emotions are your friends. Sometimes you find them at war with each other. They need your understanding. They are your supportive vents of expression to take the pressure off and make you sense the pleasure of life.

Create a beautiful life by improving your emotional health. And develop your emotional intelligence. It helps you identify where your strengths are and where you need to work on.

Emotional intelligence gives you a headstart in managing not just your emotions but also an ability to understand and to even influence anothers emotions.

In leadership roles this gives you an edge in managing people and teams

So how can you begin to improve your Emotional Intelligence?

Start by cultivating empathy for life. See things from anothers perspective. It will increase your understanding and help build strong relationships.

Work on your communication skills by practice of listening actively and respectfully. It can positively impact the way you are perceived.

Practice self awareness to become more mindful of how you feel and how your own emotions affect your thoughts and actions.

Acknowledge stress and balance it well by being active by regularly walking or picking a sport, or even dancing.

Think positively about life by inculcating a positive attitude.

At the same time allow your self to seek feedback to understand where you are doing fine and how to improve further.

Emotions are part of being human. Working on your emotional health and developing your emotional intelligence can be a game changing skill in life.

Sustain yourself

How much of you do you give in any relationship?

Today I am sharing a thought Provoker. This came as a social media forward. But it was thought worthy and I do have a few questions as well.

Speaking of relationships, have you felt drained out beyond compare?

Instead of feeling energetic after an interaction or a conversation, have you felt like when will it end?

When was the last time you felt a little too empty?

Do you stop giving, if you feel it is an unequal relationship and you feel pulled from all directions or due to habit or situation you continue to give as you do?

If you are a giver by nature, can you actually stop yourself at all?

It’s truly important to acknowledge your emotions and feelings. It helps to know your energy shifts.

A Stringed Existence

There is a lot of inextricable strings of emotions linked to relationships but if you are constantly feeling drained out and exhausted when with certain people, perhaps you need to check if you have over invested yourself. Be it in career as a workaholic or in family where your sense of self is feeling lost.

You have one life & it is your life…

Pause and take a breather and set yourself back on course.

While there are many kinds of people you meet. And it is really OK to be extra helpful, and give the best you can. In fact it energizes abundance to manifest in life… For when you give from a spring well of kindness, nature sets in motion, a share of kindness back to you in its own time.

Yet like many are energy givers, there are many energy takers. Often unknown to themselves they behave in a way that saps anothers energy when they are around you.

Do remember who ever you are with… Giving more or less will not have value. For less is not fulfilling and more is just excess and will never be utilised. But will certainly tilt your balance for sure.

In your actions too, exercise this wisdom and you will find yourself in a good space.

And most of all…

Choose your tribe well. It makes all the difference.

Every bit matters

According to an old Native American legend, one day there was a big fire in the forest. All the animals fled in terror in all directions, because it was a very violent fire. Suddenly, the jaguar saw a hummingbird pass over his head, but in the opposite direction. The hummingbird flew towards the fire!
Whatever happened, he wouldn’t stop. Moments later, the jaguar saw him pass again, this time in the same direction as the jaguar was walking. He could observe this coming and going, until he decided to ask the bird about it, because it seemed very bizarre behavior.
“What are you doing, hummingbird?” he asked.
“I am going to the lake,” he answered, “I drink water with my beak and throw it on the fire to extinguish it.” The jaguar laughed. ‘Are you crazy? Do you really think that you can put out that big fire on your own with your very small beak?’
‘No,’ said the hummingbird, ‘I know I can’t. But the forest is my home. It feeds me, it shelters me and my family. I am very grateful for that. And I help the forest grow by pollinating its flowers. I am part of her and the forest is part of me. I know I can’t put out the fire, but I must do my part.’
At that moment, the forest spirits, who listened to the hummingbird, were moved by the bird and its devotion to the forest, miraculously they sent a torrential downpour, which put an end to the great fire.
The Native American grandmothers would occasionally tell this story to their grandchildren, then conclude with, “Do you want to attract miracles into your life? Do your part.”
“You have no responsibility to save the world or find the solutions to all problems—but to attend to your particular personal corner of the universe. As each person does that, the world saves itself.’”

If someone asks your help remember this story.

A lovely read I simply had to share. I am doing my bit…

Every bit matters!

Your Circle

A young entrepreneur I know, just does not seem to have the time or patience to listen to the employees. She says how can she find time to run the company if she has to hear them all…

Well it’s actually valid as her company has more than hundreds of people.

I have had many things to say about the issues, worries and problems that are of concern, but as her friend and confidante too, it is somewhat very challenging to get the messages across all the time.

Here I share a few of my observations as suggestions that may work for holistic development of any organisation.

It is very important…

To know your circle of people.

Those who work with you

Those who work for you.

To show genuine care & understanding.

Genuine appreciation and acknowledging people for their work without favouritism makes a huge difference.

In return

You as a leader understand much more

Of what motivates them

Or challenges them

And you begin to create

Possible ways to make a meaningful difference

And grow together.

And if by chance you sense a lack of common purpose

You know you need to be ready to draw a line,

And let them go, if need be.

But all the same it’s important to be aware of, and connect with your circle of people well.

What do you think?

Cultivate Happiness

If only happiness can be summed up…

How easy it would seem!

But happiness can be elusive

When summoned it is often fleeting

But being able to take stock of your being

Will keep you aware

Of how much happiness is an inside job…

A Great Idea

In thinking through
No idea is too small
Or no idea too big

Many small sparks
Come together
To ignite a great idea
In effort & execution
The ideas find a foothold
And steers on to success

An idea is as good
As the executors
As much as the values
And purpose behind it.
So that it sustains
As without follow ups
No idea evolves itself.

To claim anothers idea
As ones own.
To belittle anothers ideas
Is a mark of insecurity
And fear of losing out

Different intelligences
And respect for diversity
Grows ideas by leaps & bounds

What every founder
Must remember
Beyond funding
Nurturing the idea
Takes many minds
And many hearts

Treat people well
Stay humble & polite
And allow space
To communicate
And collaborate
And find transperency
Will work it’s magic.

Go confidently
Play on your ideas
Until the ideas
Strike the chord in you
Trust your path
Oblivious of naysayers

There are always
Going to be
Opposers to the plan
Think of them
As a free perspectives
To sift through
And fine tune ideas.

Keep seeding and nurturing positive inspiration.

Vortex

Power of thoughts stirs a creative force

Of patterns formed in the dynamics of fluidity .

As they move towards a vortex in space

Still malleable in their pliability.

Random impression in the expression

Until the next emanating thoughts give a shape unto itself .

Suspended in the Vortex in time, in their own circles of conviction.

The vortex is a whirl, never static, an energy unto itself.

In the vortex of life … care to witness the patterns that emanate

From that great artist consummate

Creations so unique, in no cell is design that is a duplicate.

The simplicity of the creative flow that is so hard to emulate.

How to find true freedom?

Freeing the body
Is to move without fear
Freeing the mind
Is to move beyond doubts
Freeing the heart
Is to hope beyond despair
Freeing the spirit
Is to sense the light in every now
Freeing the soul
Is to align to the purpose of being.
To find the flow
To free up space within
Is to let go resentment
Of trials and errors
Of judgements and assumptions
Freeing your breath
Is to sense life dance
In this now.

Dance of Oneness

Understanding truths of Divinity
Is in acknowledging humanity
To understand the differences
Is to sense the light of life

Each life is unique in itself
Yet deeply aligned in the cosmos
In the dance of  oneness
Between stillness and movement.

Truth emerges in realization
Of the illusions of the mind
Of human attribution
Of human reconciliation.

In this dance of truths
That every thing exists
As we see it & beyond what we see.
Is the dance of the Oneness.

Heart & Mind

So many feelings
So many thoughts
Creating confusion
Body mind & spirit
What to say and do
What to hold on to
And what to let go
Queries the mind.

Let go doubt
Let go assumptions
Let go prejudice
Let go judgements
All is meant to change
All is meant to flow
Answers the heart.

But the dance of the mind and heart continues😊
Every day… until

Dancing the doubts away
The body heals

Awakening the intuitive wisdom
The spirit regenerates…

Trust matters

In continuation to my earlier post on trust I share a few verses that flowed along…

Trust is the lifeline
Between people
That keeps hope alive
In faith and belief
That things will come through
In trust life resurrects
And success sustains
In feeling fulfilled.

A lack of trust
Erodes relationships
Personal or professional
For when trust is broken
Efforts become meaningless
For sense of purpose is lost
Without trust
Every thing crumbles…
Until trust is gained
Nothing matters.

Capture of Whispers

As the brush strokes the canvas

It captures the artists essence

From the whispers of the heart

To the directions of the mind

Different strokes may appear

With the same thoughts

Different thoughts may arise

From the same strokes.

What whispers will art capture today?
