Between and betwixt The light & dark There is a phase of blur Wherein clarity is embedded.
In this momentary distortion The phase holds the potential For infinite possibilities. Awaiting its turn to appear Blur may seem bleary, But like a bud holds the bloom Blur holds the moment of clarity.
Fear not the blur It’s a transient phenomenon Like all things Change is the only constant.
An embodiment of uncertainty Of the uncomfortable reality Blur takes its time to clear Like a foggy winters day.
It makes you imagine your truths In the shadows of grey Between the black & white Blur may seem challenging But it provokes perception To decipher this dance of illusion & reality
Just spending time with our little furball combing his long coat every other day makes me feel peaceful. A little moment every now and then writing my thoughts down feels peaceful Spending time alone witnessing the stillness of the breath or practicing Qi Gong in the garden with green trees for company makes me feel peaceful.
Meditative moments especially at home in front a Buddha statue makes me feel peaceful.
Painting and dancing without an agenda, on my own, whenever I wish to, makes me feel peaceful.
But most of all… Living in the now, without too many expectations makes me peaceful ✌️
Every emotion you are feeling has a connection to an experience.
Here is a little exercise that can help you understand your emotions and feelings as well as shift perspectives to positive thinking.
As and when, you observe your emotions, ask yourself a few questions. And as the answers come to you, write it down in your own words.
Fear : A base instinct that sometimes gets the better of us and makes living difficult.
Ask yourself, what is this fear?
Then ask yourself, what can I do to get to step beyond this fear?
And how can I address this objectively? Write it down.
Shame : Question yourself why and where did you feel inadequate in meeting set expectations?
Then ask who has set the expectations and work how you can grow beyond this limiting experience in expectation.
Guilt : Ask yourself if you have inner conflicts of values that’s bothering you. Your guilt trips are often deeply connected to your actions that crossed over your ingrained values. Reflect on on understanding yourself.
Sadness : Often sadness has an unfulfilled expectation or loss attached. Question what they are and then work on inculcating a regular practice of journalling your feelings. Additionally find a way to connect with dear caring friend with a listening attitude and share from your heart. It helps.
Anxiety : Question the self to check if what makes you anxious is within your line of control. It will clarify whether worrying helps at all…and helps you attend to that which you can do something about
Envy : Going green with envy is all about your unmet goals or aspirations and unfulfilled desires. Question your self , can I make this envy work for me to acheive my personal goals. Can my envy motivate me instead .Refraining helps .
Frustration Question what do I can so deeply about that I feel this way.
What will I stand to lose and how can I go about future proofing or safeguarding it in my capacity for it .
Anger : Questioning the root cause of anger will often throw light on an invasion of personal space imagined or real.
Objective reflection helps understand what boundaries have been encroached or eroded upon.
The shift of perspectives through self reflection, gives you a moment of clarity . It makes you sense possibilities beyond the obvious. This shift of thinking bridges gaps between different cultures, generations, creates openness, restores relationships and renews hope if you care. For you begin to reframe and understand emotions and able to manage it better.
My good friend @Geoff Hudson Searle posed and shared an interesting question.’Are we entering a new age of Wisdom?
‘A new age of wisdom ‘ is a fascinating topic to ponder on…
Wisdom continues to evolve
As change is the only constant
Knowing is never enough
Discerning knowledge with application makes all the difference.
Some see it as the Age of the Aquarius, a dawn of enlightenment, but it is also a sign of changing times when there is greater access to knowledge and increased interest in holistic & spiritual practices and greater receptivity & awareness of values of empathy compassion and collaboration and therein interconnections.
Speaking of AI, while we are better informed, the human aspect of intuitive and ethical considerations play a significant role in understanding and application of this new age wisdom.
Now, this rise of a new age of wisdom could also mean more inclusive and divergent thinking in a more conscious and enlightened world.
The question then is, what resonates within and what we choose to do with it.
Here is a little self reflection tool in understanding the self.
Think of yourself as a child, what age do you imagine yourself to be in?
Write down words that come to you when you think of your childhood?
Write down people or places that connect with the words you wrote
You will find yourself connecting the dots…
All of the expressed, repressed and suppressed emotions has much to do with who you become as an adult.
Much of what you felt, are feeling as an adult goes back to what you enjoyed or endured as a child..
Nature works with nurture to create your being.
Each of us have evolved from our experiences. Self reflection is a valuable tool to bring to awareness that however easy or difficult the childhood was, understanding that childhood is your past but the present is with you for you to carve. to make your future.
