Today am happy to share an introspective piece of poetry by my mother Anjana.

Mind
The strange , invisible me
Playing me like a puppet
In its hands.
All of a sudden
When in a group of happy hearts
The neurons in my grey cells suddenly switch
some remote thoughts
Buried deep in my memory folds .
And lo,
amidst the laughter and gaiety
I shrink to my own self,
Away from this Now n Joy.
Amidst a mourning group,
Or sad events,
It strings the tune of
Blessed moments
Making me smile within myself.
How powerful are
The seeds of thoughts
Arising from the depth of mind
Controlling my
moods, words and actions.
It makes me dance to its tunes.
I become a slave to its
Whims and fancies
Losing control of my own self
And repenting later.
All happens in spite of
learning about
awareness and detachment.
When I will learn to tame
The wild horse,
And become the master from slave.?

A street of yesterday
comes to mind
echoes of children’s laughter
Sipping on a juicy cola bar right out of school.
A fruit seller with ripe berries
outside the school
Children thronging around
buying berries from pocket money.
How inexpensive was the joys of then!
On the other end of the street
was their ever popular mango seller,
selling spicy salted raw mango slices,
all mouth watering delight of then.
And yes, the memories of the temple lane right across
lined with tiny flowers shops
Scents of fresh fragrance of flowers wafting in …
Reminiscences of life, so non-fussy & simple.

I sense hope every time I see a fragile flower. Mistake not, the flower as fragile for in its blooming from a bud it has resilience writ large in every petal .Projecting hope majestically it withstands the day come rain or sunÂ
Every flower is a powerful yet graceful testament of hope & strength springing fresh from the earth.
Speaking of Power…
Power is often mistaken to be loud and aggressive, but often it is the quiet, the silent rebellion that has the most effect.
Mistake not the fragile as weak
For often, there is great strength
In those fragile frames.
Proving time and time again
It is not the weight you carry
But in how you carry & project it.
What do you think ?

Floating Dreams
I had this beautiful dream
Of flaming ruby red lights
Dancing on blue waves of water
Floating lanterns all afire
As the fire burns brighter
The flickering lights
Waltzing on water…Savvy

In Japan, a ten-year-old boy had a goal of becoming a judo champion.
However, he was disabled. He didn’t have a left arm.
Becoming a judo champion is a huge challenge even for those with strong arms and legs.
What could a boy without one arm do?
He approached many trainers.
All of them looked at him with pity and sent him back.
The boy didn’t lose heart. He kept trying.
Finally, one trainer agreed to teach him judo.
The training started. The trainer taught him only one move.
Days, weeks, and months passed. The trainer didn’t seem to teach him anything else. The boy got frustrated.
“Master, knowing just one move isn’t enough to become a judo champion. Will you teach me anything else?” he asked.
“If you master this one move, that’s enough,” the trainer replied.
There was no arguing with the trainer. The boy continued his practice.
He mastered that single move well.
The championship began!
First match: A well-trained opponent against this boy who knew only one move.
The match started. To the surprise of the audience, the boy won.
Second match: He won again.
He continued to advance and reached the semi-finals.
He struggled a bit but won that match too.
Now it was the final match.
His opponent was a multiple-time champion. He felt a bit of pity and some disdain for the boy without an arm. But the boy didn’t falter.
The match started. In the first round, the opponent knocked the boy down.
Seeing the boy’s condition, the audience was shocked. The organizers considered stopping the match.
“Let the boy fight,” said the trainer.
The opponent, now careless, thought he didn’t need any safety gear to fight this boy.
The boy executed the one move he knew with great force. The opponent fell.
The boy became the champion.
The audience couldn’t believe it, and the competitors were astonished.
Even the boy couldn’t believe his victory.
That evening, he asked his trainer.
“Master, how did I win this match? I won with just one move,” he said.
Smiling, the trainer replied, “There are two reasons for your success.”
First, you have mastered one of the most difficult moves in judo.
Second, the only way to counter that move is for the opponent to grab your left arm. But you don’t have a left arm!
“Your weakness turned into your strength and made you a champion!”
The boy marveled at the trainer’s words. He felt joy thinking about how his weakness had become his strength.
Each of our minds is a sea of talents. Diving into it can yield pearls or shells, depending on how long we hold our breath.
Every person is endowed with unique talents by God. Our success lies in discovering and utilizing them.

Artists have a blessing
It’s in their ability to touch time
Past present or future
With their inspired creations
For art touches time
As much as the intangibles
Evoking nostalgia
Creating an intimate connection
That’s almost felt & sensed
Such is the power of art
An evolved appreciation
Standing the test of time.

Allow yourself spirit to emanate joy
Allow the body to feel its contentment
Allow the self to embody peace
Allow the heart to open itself to possibilities
Allow the self to move in space and sense the freedom it offers.
Just be and allow
My painting interpretation for today’s thoughts …

In this dance of life
Turn your doubts to decisions
Turn your worries to wins
Turn your pain to possibilities
Turn your hurts to hope
All is a matter of a turn.

Being a happy person
I have tided over
The challenges with a smile
Grateful for the dance in my life
I draw energy from movements
As they appear to move me
I unwind and unfurl
My hearts deepest feelings
In the flow of the moves
I sense the beauty of this now.
And I smile from the heart.

It is not the grand gestures
But in the valuing of life
With actions that move hearts…
Through the hands that help
Extending care without expection
A celebration of life
In the unfolding of patience
In the spirit of generosity
In the deeds of kindness
In expansive love as a choice
Unconditionally unexpectedly
Living life in every now
With the grace of a being
Leading with love.
What to you is living life lovingly?

Love begets love
But being in love
Can be bittersweet
For love takes you
On a journey
Unto your own self
It tests you.
In opportune times
It lays bear your soul
Challenges your body & mind
Many times over
Until you are ready
To see love for itself
Beyond the apparitions
Aspire to love & be loved
For it is better to love & be loved
Than not at all.

It’s not the words
But what we think
It’s not just the deeds
But how we do it
Our thoughts make us.
Or break us.
In every now.
Thoughts matter.
What do you think?
Savvy

Good is happening
In every now
If you truly care
To tune in to sense.
Savvy

It’s not just in thinking
It’s in the feeling
That you can manifest
Your deepest intentions.

The power of heart
Knows no bounds
Such is the energy
In the emotions.
