You awaken
When you are ready to release
That which holds you back.
In acknowledging
Is the allowing
Of new possibilities
And sense the light within.
Every once in a while
It’s good to unshackle
Simply ask your self
What am I holding back?

Pride makes us artificial
Humility makes us real
Thomas Merton
So a long long time ago when I started sharing my writing skills, I received a beautiful message from a reader, who also introduced Thomas Merton, the poet & monk to me. I was intrigued by his words. And went on to read more. For back then I didn’t know who Thomas Merton was and had never heard or come across his works.
This morning I came across the above quote, another gem of a quote from the mystical light of this soul…
There are some souls whose works strike a deep chord without ever meeting them… you sense a connection in their words..
I am grateful in all humility to have come across the profoundness of these kindred spirits. 🙏

Sit down with your feelings
Like a good friend
Listen to it to understand
What it conveys to you
It works out for you.
Your emotions are not your enemy
They are your vent
They are your support systems
For the body to feel at ease
Be a good friend to you
And your emotions will thank you
As you thank them.

If a day could be wrapped in a minute
If a year could be tucked in a season
Life would happen too fast
With no time to simply be
Life would be one rushed affair
Wish nothing in a hurry
Let the days be, to dare
Let the nights be to rest anew
Let the flowers bloom in hope
And let the leaves rustle in the wind
Let the seasons come by
All in good time
For you and for me.

Winning at the Paralympics is no mean feat. I wonder why it gets second hand treatment and less attention in media compared to Olympics. Came across this news about a gold in mens badminton, it’s a proud moment for India no doubt.
And am in appreciation for the perseverance of these spirited warriors of sportsmanship. A testement to what the body achieves when the mind believes. May the spirit of sports shine through
Hope there is more support for every sport and sportsmen and here’s to celebrating them and their unwavering dedication to touch the pinnacle of success no matter the odds.
With much hope on the anvil this year India has sent its largest contingent to compared to Tokyo 2020 where India found much success
And today I read…
India Shatters Its All-Time Paralympics Record, Medal Tally Swells To 20 https://sports.ndtv.com/paralympic-games-2024/india-shatters-its-all-time-paralympics-record-medal-tally-swells-to-20-6484764
Isn’t it high time to celebrate sports without discrimination across the world. What say?

I wrote this poem below years ago. I had no idea about who Julia Hill was back then. And today I was reminded of my poem, when I came across her story. She is an American Activist who saved Luna the redwood tree by living in it to prevent loggers from cutting off the tree and refusing to backdown.
Today I dedicate this very poem to her and the likes of her and their unwavering spirit to save trees.
The Lady on the Tree.
In the centre of placid calm stands an angel of hope and resilience.
She has birds of hope surrounding her haloed presence.
Be like the lady on the tree.
In the stillness of the water… sensing your spirit feel so free,
Climb the tree in the serenity of the calm and unwind.
Bring composure to the cursory mind.
Move away from the mundane.
And feel more humane.
See the birds dancing by your side,
Singing their sweet songs of hope that will always reside!
Tread gently and softly move
In your journey as you find your groove.
Climb that tree and rest awhile.
Witness the water silently settle.
Renew your spirit and discover your mettle.
Delve in the solitude, seeking the clarity in the calm, unbound
As in still waters run deep, the wisdom profound.

Nature speaks in the most creative yet simplest of ways…
The wisdom for a lifetime
Bloom from wherever you are.

Let love live
Not just in your smile
In your heart
In your eyes
In your bones
Allow it to reside
In every cell of your being
Make it your life long friend
And see the magic unfold

I wrote this poem back in time after an unexpected opportunity to travel set me off across exploring unforgettable places and spaces on my own.

Yesterday as I was conversing with one of my earlier dance student and friend now, he somehow reminded me of this poem again , as he has been traveling the length and breadth of India on a bike, covering over 80% of India.
While I wait to see his photo shares and hear more from him about his experience in the journey.
Thought of sharing my verses again.
Travel On
If you are given an opportunity to take a journey
Take it, for you meet many versions of you.
Along the road.
Some you cherish, some cherish you.
Some that change you and some that you change.
Fear not the travel or the traveling…
For one thing is certain
You come away enriched and wiser in every journey.
Travel to liberate yourself
From self assumed notions
To see the light on the other side
There is much to unlearn and unbox
As you travel yield in to the insights
Travel every once in a while if opportunity arises,
Take the chance,
You are richer in your explorations much as your experiences.
Travel on …

In the depths of darkness
Keep the faith on a new dawn
In the numerous wrongs
See the rights
Thank the good
Be grateful for it
Make it a practice of a life time
Know you’re in a better space.

What was freshness of springtime
Matures with the changing seasons
At times hot dry or humid summers makes life unbearable
Soon the downpour of rains flood the parched land with greens
Another autumn as orange rust leaves renew themselves
Winter chills brings it’s own white snow at will
Trees bereft of leaves lay bare their dark branches
Awaiting for another change of season.
And life goes on…

Calm eyes and ears
Resting and recovering
From relentless chaos
Blowing in the wind.
Seeing only a trickle
Of light and sounds
Of nature in harmony
To energize in hope
Once more.
