There is a dog somewhere nearby That is barking every once in a while It is not the usual bark and not a yelp either But I feel it’s something not ok Perhaps it is loneliness A yearning for a companion Or a little comfort & care. My heart aches to hear it every day And wants to help. But try as I might Yet, I am unable to find the dog. Till then , I hold my hand on my heart If it is a pain of some kind I pray that the pain goes away … I send a healing light To shift the energy & ease the dog.
Across this desert of life There is a mountain that beckons you. That emits calm. It invites you into its fold Although the path is treacherous and tricky You will lead yourself to it For in its wake, the light of soul blooms Your spirit awakens And your body regenerates. As you reach its pinnacle You look onwards and upwards You see the light of a thousand stars Shining on you, their cosmic lights
There is nothingness And yet everything-ness. A feeling of calm and composure Envelopes you in its presence That soothes your soul. The air filled with an ambient pure fragrance Of the mystical flowers as you sense it in resonance. Healing you And empowering you,
Wished a very enterprising friend On his birthday today Umpteen solar cycles wise He has weathered the storms of life And yet through it all is a joy to connect
I paused a moment when I read his reply beyond the thank-you. In his words…
“My days are long and boring, but at this stage of my life, boring is a desired quality. May life give you what you desire the most at every stage of your life”.
His words touched my heart
It speaks much of a spirit wanting to do much more A recognition of boredom, Is the desire to unravel life some more.
Boredom creates a space Between the steps In realization and acknowledgement Of the preciousness of time
And that is in itself, valuable For it is allowing you to tap into potential possibilities. And discover something more, awaiting your creativity on the other side of boredom. In finding the good in boredom Life isn’t so boring after all!
I thank my friend for his kind blesses & I wish my dear friend a fascinating birthday that lights up his day and brings joy to his heart.
Today am happy to share an introspective piece of poetry by my mother Anjana.
Mind The strange , invisible me Playing me like a puppet In its hands.
All of a sudden When in a group of happy hearts The neurons in my grey cells suddenly switch some remote thoughts Buried deep in my memory folds . And lo, amidst the laughter and gaiety I shrink to my own self, Away from this Now n Joy.
Amidst a mourning group, Or sad events, It strings the tune of Blessed moments Making me smile within myself.
How powerful are The seeds of thoughts Arising from the depth of mind Controlling my moods, words and actions.
It makes me dance to its tunes. I become a slave to its Whims and fancies Losing control of my own self And repenting later.
All happens in spite of learning about awareness and detachment. When I will learn to tame The wild horse, And become the master from slave.?
A street of yesterday comes to mind echoes of children’s laughter Sipping on a juicy cola bar right out of school.
A fruit seller with ripe berries outside the school Children thronging around buying berries from pocket money. How inexpensive was the joys of then! On the other end of the street was their ever popular mango seller, selling spicy salted raw mango slices, all mouth watering delight of then. And yes, the memories of the temple lane right across lined with tiny flowers shops Scents of fresh fragrance of flowers wafting in … Reminiscences of life, so non-fussy & simple.
I sense hope every time I see a fragile flower. Mistake not, the flower as fragile for in its blooming from a bud it has resilience writ large in every petal .Projecting hope majestically it withstands the day come rain or sun
Every flower is a powerful yet graceful testament of hope & strength springing fresh from the earth.
Speaking of Power…
Power is often mistaken to be loud and aggressive, but often it is the quiet, the silent rebellion that has the most effect.
Simply bringing the body into movement heals, empowers and brings positive changes in the body in time gradually … but most of all it brings on empathy and a divine connection to the living you and that’s the alluring magnetic charm of a body in blissful motion.
Here is a guided meditation for cultivating compassion in thoughts words & deeds.
Take a few moments to ease in and breathe genttly in a quiet space.
In awareness calmly sense the natural rhythm of your own breath.
Think of someone you know who is kind and imagine the warmth that radiates from your heart towards them and extend the very same energy to someone who is challenged by it.
In every inhale, welcome peace in silence and likewise in every exhale release the unnecessary. Inhale faith and exhale doubt.
Every positive compassion filled thought reshaped the internal narrative and the world around us.
Sense the moments integrating in empathy in compassionate connection & possibility.
Incorporating such conscious and intentional practices embodies compassion into our spheres of influence in and around us through thoughts, words & deeds
Do share your reflections on what it means to be connected in the world today. Let’s spark the movement towards cultivating global compassion.
