I am not a trained speaker, nor an expert story teller. In fact I am quite the antithesis for while I deeply enjoy conversing with people than speeches… I have always liked my deeds than talks to show up for me .
And I have sensed the butterflies in my stomach and heard my own beating heart while speaking to a room full of people, many many times in my life.
Like they say, life makes you stand on the razors edge, as much as on varied stages to experience what it is to be vulnerable, only to transform you.
But then I know I have it in me to ace it. After all, the power of my self belief and purpose has always stood out stronger than my vulnerabilities.
Time and time again I have realized how much it is all in our mind. The journey of life through the illusions, our delusions & revelations to the clarity in awareness.
In time I have often sensed that what makes you uncomfortable has your deliverance. In those moments of vulnerability, there is latent strength to overcome the odds.
What seems like an uncomfortable pause…
Can be the reason why what you say is heard and understood.
For if you truly care to sense
For there is much power in the pause,
In the space between two words two thoughts , two moments and two people.
How do you navigate the challenges of life by staying practical?
Acknowledging changes by being adaptable Yet standing up for what you believe, and saying no assertively, when you want to say no, without fear and doubts of what people will say.
Staying humble and grateful yet dedicated & focussed , no matter the vagaries of life.
Being able to move on from errors or failures, without becoming stagnant.
Being kind to oneself with self care.
And then most importantly allowing every failure to become stepping stones of learnings.
Here is a little self reflection tool in understanding the self.
Think of yourself as a child, what age do you imagine yourself to be in?
Write down words that come to you when you think of your childhood?
Write down people or places that connect with the words you wrote
You will find yourself connecting the dots…
All of the expressed, repressed and suppressed emotions has much to do with who you become as an adult.
Much of what you felt, are feeling as an adult goes back to what you enjoyed or endured as a child..
Nature works with nurture to create your being.
Each of us have evolved from our experiences. Self reflection is a valuable tool to bring to awareness that however easy or difficult the childhood was, understanding that childhood is your past but the present is with you for you to carve. to make your future.
The dynamics of mentor mentee relationship is one of trust and confidence.
Building trustful mentorship requires genuine love to help guide people for the better.
Besides the required skills and expertise, mentors having an inclusive, expansive and holistic approach while helping unique pathways for clients, adds to their repertoire to create trustful mentorship .
Clarity and integrity in communication & behaviour , excellent interpersonal skills and empathic attitude add value beyond the experience and expertise of the mentors.
It is important to acknowledge the influence a mentor can have on the mentees decisions be it at work or personal life.
Hence, a good understanding of ethics while handling conflicting opinions biases, & emotional triggers helps empower the mentee than exploit them.
After all, a mentor is someone who guides advice and supports along the way…
So we have been keeping a food bowl and water bowl for the hungry and thirsty birds in our terrace garden.
I have seen some occasional birds come in to drink but every day there is a family of squirrels who somehow have made their feeding zone.
So this morning I chanced upon a pigeon carefully perched on the edge of the bowl watching the surrounding environment…
Apprehension & trepidation are the words that comes up when I saw this lone bird feeding for the first time. So much fear and anxiety before dipping her beak into the bowl. So unlike our regular daredevil squirrels dashing into the bowl, this one was mighty cautious and careful and yet so very graceful in her ways… Watching her I sensed how much she values her freedom. And how much she is relying on her wings to take off at any moment and fly free. After all in every life, the spirit of freedom aspires to live & fly free in safety, peace & liberation. Here’s to creating safe spaces for life to coexist, thrive and flourish.
Building trust creates a rapport for greater communication. Besides listening actively, addressing any issues and finding resolutions together immediately builds trust in a team. Being authentically approachable adds to the trust. Creating a transparent process and protocols for idea sharing helps. Showing appreciation for the ideas generated brings forth confidence to share more. Most importantly, giving credit where it is due by acknowledgements fosters trustful teams. Creating a responsive, cohesive and collaborative team requires transperncy in purpose.
Yesterday, once again I heard of the bees being driven off their homes and then collecting the honey from their hive adulterating it with jaggery and selling it locally, it seems be a racket in urban cities. Smoking out the hives out for honey results in suffocating many of these bees.
How callous we are, truly there is nothing sweet about this kind of honey.
