On Freedom

Are you truly free?

Free enough to be

You as you truly are?

Being free is a birth right.

Be free of bondages that restrict.

Unleash and unshackle yourself;

You owe it most to your own self.

Let go of the unwanted burdens.

Let go of fear and favour.

Let go of notions and assumptions.

Create spaces in your thoughts

To meet the lightness of your being.

Take yourself lightly

As density can pull you down.

Know you are meant to be all

That you truly are!

Nothing can bound your soul from expression

For true freedom is respect for self and others.

Be free to find yourself.

Be free to think for yourself.

Know the world needs your uniqueness as you are…now more than ever before!

A few more thoughts:

What is your idea of freedom?

How important is freedom and being free to you as a person?

If you could trade freedom for something else, would you?

And with what?

    Thanks, dear Savvy 🙂

    My idea of freedom:
Do live and do under the umbrella of God (in His Will) – to surrender my free will in His Will, to surrender completely to Him…

I believe that freedom of myself (from my mind) will lead me to the freedom of God. Our free will is limited within certain boundaries as karmic processes are laid in our life which have to be lived through, even if we want it or not, to repay open bills

Freedom can never be a business, same as with love – if there is a business or trade then it is our mind that is doing it to gain some advantage…

Big hugs to you, dear friend
    Didi

Freedom is being away from material afflictions. Letting everyone live in their own space.

For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others’- Nelson Mandela
      Truly then
Freedom is in learning to be and letting others be!

Thank you for this thought provoking piece.

No one is binding me – but my own mind. I seek approval from others and bind myself. I seek to preserve a protective ego personality – and bind myself.

I wonder — how to be free? What to let go? Everything?

What is everything – i guess all that changes and binds me to that which is not eternal. Just as Tagore said – I too pray – To that place of pure love and clear mind, Oh Master, let my soul go – and glow as a sparkling light of sweetness – for You and all Your Creation.

Thank You, beautiful Savvy! Wish you a blessed evening. 💛

I feel freedom is very important for every one irrespective of the age. It helps to keep our mind wide open, and it is the birth place of creative ideas.
I don’t like to trade freedom under any circumstances. 🙂

I think we’re not free. Our activities limited are limited by certain norms created by society

Thank you Mathew somehow I missed this comment…
To sense true freedom is to understand that freedom too has its edges and ends at the tip of our fingers and beyond that is a space that is perhaps another life’s space. In respect of spaces within us between and betwixt us we are truly free.
