Then and now

Then I had manicured hands

Fingers always maintained

With perfectly painted nails 💅

Now I like them as they are

Functional and neatly cut.

Then I wore high heels

To make me feel more stylish

Now I have a style I call my own

High heels I no longer need or buy.

Then I was yet to experience life

Too sensitive to a fault…

Now I have come of my own

Upholding my health over stressors

Emboldened enough to stand by me.

And today, another solar cycle older

Wiser or not is left for you to say,

But this I know from living

Half way and more in life.

No matter the then & now

What is, is what matters.

In you, is what you need.

Life is what you make of it.

Every now is precious enough  to fill it with gratitude.
