Yes, sometimes I know an artwork is complete; sometimes I think it is complete and come back to it after 3 years and then actually complete it then other times my work never feels complete. Even poems, like art, can be tinkered with years later. I posted a poem that I wrote 40 years ago but only after tinkering on it. Leonard Cohen used to do that too.
I think it’s a bit like dreaming… It can speak today, but in years to come it can have added meaning too.

Yes I certainly agree with this as it happens with me as well… and by the way great you mentioned Leonard Cohen, I love many of his songs and his thinking mind and dancing heart. Especially the way he delivered some of his songs and translated it into an artistic brilliance 😇
Art completes itself along the way for it knows its purpose!🙏🏼
