Both actually. India is overpopulated and hence it is straining the natural resources, on top of it is climate change and its massive impacts we are already seeing. Development of industries create more industrial waste water, thats often lost without proper treatment.
Massive environmental damages due to improper planning and decision-making impacts the conservation and allocation of water. Hence water crisis looms large as a crisis of modern society. Thank you for your question Aniruddha 🙏
