My first time
Riding a cycle
As a little kid
I remember
Quite vividly
Father’s hand
Holding the cycle seat
At the back
Teaching me to pedal
As I balance
In complete faith
In the hand
Holding me safe
Wheels spin
On the dirt road
I sense the wind
In my face
As we gain ground
The cycle, me & dad.
I smile happily
And I turn to glance
At my father
But I see him afar
Beaming with pride
Signaling a thumbs up
And then it hits…
I am cycling
On my own now.
In faith & self belief
Confidence springs
As I pedal on in faith.
Life is like a cycle
Keep pedaling
And remember
Roads may seem rough
As terrain turns tough
But there is always
Guidance in need
And signs…
That assures
You are enough
For you.
Ride on, in faith.

Adversity tests but makes us resilient
Scarity gives us the gift of resourcefulness
Life is a journey
In riding in faith
As wants & needs change
As seasons change…
In the realization of contending with what we already have as the truth of our lives, and finding contentment in that.
For, like free verses
That flow off the thoughts
Our creativity has no end…
When we learn to find joy
And glide on the wings
Of words of freedom..
